Ah. Couldn't remember then, and I certainly can't now.
actually your wrong... only the cars with the CTS-toyota pedal are not allowed to be sold... any car equiped with a DENSO pedal is fully legal to sell to the public as the denso pedal cars are not the ones under the recal..so will sales slow down yes... but they are not gonna stop the fix should be out with in the next few months.. if anyone is driving an effected year model you can take it to the dealership and have it "checked" with a scan tool to see if its got any current issues... and at that time we can also tell you which pedal is in your car ..... toyota will be sending out recall letters as soon as the pedals become avaliable.....
also if you have one of these cars and the pedal does stick dont panic put the car in neutral and hit the brakes... let the motor hit the limiter and once your stopped just turn the car off.... also on cars equipped with a "smart key" ie push button... since its not a key and by just pushing the button while moving isnt gonna turn off the car... if you hold the power button on the dash for 5+ seconds it will shut off...
again these cases are rare... but its still an issue... i have driven A 🤬 LOAD of these cars with no problems... and the comments about the customer service... we got all info LAST MINUTE we didnt even know there was an "issue" untill we get a notification from toyota.. so its not the dealers faults on any of this we dont any parts to fix anything yet till toyota ships them out.. ... also along with a pedal replacement there should be an ECM reflash coming down the pipe line also that will cut fuel/rev limiter if it sees a pegged throttle and brake application... so if you slam the brakes its not gonna rev up like it would normaly
Something some of you should read this, as the news is leaving out some key notes. From a local Toyota mechanic here in town.
Starting today, GM is offering incentives to Toyota owners if they switch to a GM vehicle.

You people kept asking for more exciting Toyotas, so I made a few recommendations a few years ago.
It looks like they mis-read the e-mail a little.
Seriously, I can only imagine the back-log of complaints...but this doesn't mean that 3.8 million people have the complaint or even the problem with the car. Probably just a few hundred unresolved complaints, and they will probably get their recall parts/fix first.
In the next few weeks I'll be going to the Chicago Auto Show and the Daytona 500, should be interesting to see what Toyota does at both those places.
Some one may have already mentioned this, but someone successfully sued McDonald's cause the hot coffee they ordered was hot. What bugs me is that Toyota's afraid that someone'd sue over a floormat.
Really? Crap. Toyota may have a Pinto-level problem on their hands if they don't handle this correctly."A few hundred unresolved complaints" .... there has been 2000 documented accidents so far, not to mention 16 deaths ! No small matter![]()
