So the usual big thanks to @Adam Barber for hosting/organising the series, and congrats to @Kermit_2142 for the GT300 win! GG also to @Spinerkopin @GOTMAXPOWER @Pigems and @Michelin Man on the podiums

I wasn't expecting the NSX to do well this round with the long straights, but 1st and 2nd in qualifying proved that wrong  maybe the sweeping first sector suited the MR's?

Qualifying itself was quite funny, I was planning on a slow out lap to protect the tyres, but then everyone started battling for a slipstream  i decided to bail on that and quit to the pits, only to find @GOTMAXPOWER on the outlap! So I quit to the pits again and did a slow out lap, at this point neither me or Max had a time on the board with like 4 minutes to go :ouch: but thankfully my first lap was traffic free, and not perfect but solid enough, the NSX is always decent over one lap too.

So then the race start, I hadn't weaved or worked the brakes, which was a mistake, and so despite a good start Max nailed the first corner to take the lead, @Spinerkopin was putting pressure on behind too and I made a silly error clipping the barrier in the last sector, Spiner then made a really nice pass around the outside into T1, so yeah, P1 to P3 in one lap

I finally started to drive properly and got some heat in the tyres, and stayed in Spiners slipstream and managed to go down the inside into T1, we were side by side for the next few corners but I had the inside so kept the position, was awesome to be able to be side by side like that for so long, very clean driving from Spiner

Then it was trying hard to catch Max, a slide in the last corner helped and then it was a mix of gaining in the slip/losing in the dirty air through corners, managing to stay within the slip for the back straight meant we were side by side, but he had the inside line and I was never making it around the outside, so I braked early and went for the cutback and managed to get early enough on the power to gain the place - just!

The race was pretty solid from there on, Max got the FL, and figuring I might need every point I could get, and having enough gap to take a second stop I went for the fresh tyres at the end, with a sneaky trip to the gravel on the in lap while trying to calculate fuel on the fly 🤬

With me in basically qualifying trim at this point the FL wasnt a fair fight, and the fresh tyres and free air meant really being able to push at the end which was fun, as was mixing it with the GT300's, watching some of Pigems stream back i didnt realise how close I came to a few of you, sorry about that - it was good fun though ;)

So yeah, that was round 2, a lot of fun, and a new track that I really ended up liking, gutted for the people that disconnected, hopefully round 3 is just as fun

The disconnect was annoying but at least I could get back in to spectate, @ABarber95 couldn't even do that. It was an exciting race to watch I got to see some of the more crazy passes and some really good fighting for positions.
Hopefully I can stay in next race. Perhaps the update on the 26th is server issues being fixed.

The was a real fun race although dampened by a few disconnects.

I had managed to squeeze in a short stint for practice on Friday and I’m glad I did as the circuit was really challenging to drive in GT300. With most corners having rises and falls it was really easy to get the cars out of shape. I was quite happy with my pace although I was having to not push the Lambo too hard as it seemed to prefer a gentle approach and I didn’t want to wear out the tyres too much.

Qualified a pb for p2 with @Michelin Man throwing out a really fast pole lap. I think p1-p5 in gt300 was covered by only 1s so it was going to be a hard fought race.

After the tyres had warmed back up, Michelin Man had bolted and I found myself in a bit of limbo with @Jwptexas and @Pigems chasing hard behind.
I wasn’t sure whether to 1 or 2 stop so I decided I’d go with the opposite to everyone else. Toward lap 12 we had only been lapped once by gt500 so it was looking to be a longer race than the hour and the Lambo wasn’t giving me too much of a hard time. At this point Pigems was gaining on us and JWP had been in for fresh tyres. I was just about to pit and I noticed that Mich Man was having issues and we were gaining on him pretty quickly.
I’d now decided that I was 1 stopping as I caught Mich Man who was really struggling with the rears at this point. There was a bit of lag so I was trying to be extra careful but we managed to have a good battle for a few laps with Pigems still closing us down.
We had a little fright from @Drex124 who decided to do a Moses between us on the corner at the end of the back straight whilst we were side by side battling for position!!!
I managed to get the move done and build up a small gap whilst Pigems chased and Mich Man pitted for tyres.
Pigems pitted the following lap so I stayed out for one more just as GT500 caught us up for the 2nd time meaning i was spot on half way through the race.
However the boys on fresh rubber had done some work and I came out in p3 with JWP/Mich/myself/pigems all within a second or so. The race was now on and I had to be mindful not to overdrive the Lambo killing my tyres and ruining a potential podium. I managed to get a good run on Mich Man within a lap or so as he got sideways onto the bridge and up the inside into p2 nicely. I think Pigems followed me through shortly after as we were all trying to hang with JWP who was really pushing hard with the Ford going sideways more often that it was going forward.
I think at around 2/3rds we got slightly separated by a lapping GT500 and with Mich Man had ending up in the gravel at the end of the back straight and JWP had sadly disconnected that left myself and Pigems to fight for the win.
I am not the best under pressure, especially from a driver I know to be generally faster than myself but I knew I had 1 lap fresher tyres and the Lambo was still going really well. All I had to do was keep him out of slipstream range and I should’ve been able to hold the second or so gap as the tyres wore down.
Sadly though my nerves cracked and I made a few mistake allowing Pigems through and let him now break the slipstream.
I knew I couldn’t let him get away that easy and managed to compose myself to start hunting him back down. After a few more laps we were back together and i was unsure whether to try and make or move or wait it out till the end. Having already made mistakes I decided to go early and try and make another gap.
I managed to get by fairly easy down the back straight and really pushed, concentrating on getting good drive down these long straights to hopefully break the tow.
Pigems seemed glued to me and I was looking forward to a good battle to the end but sadly he lost the rear coming down the hill onto the bridge. A really easy mistake to make but still a brilliant drive from him after coming back from a poor start.
I managed to keep it on track for the final few laps albeit with a few scruffy laps as the rears started to let go at the end.
A well fought win and a great race with everyone. Once again the GT500 did well lapping us cleanly, especially with how tricky this circuit was in places .

That was a fun race, @Spinerkopin had a great battle for a few laps after the pitstop but I think we're a bit crazy:

Crazy? I mean, it's not the first time we do that kind of stuff:lol:. You probably don't remember this

As for yesterday, I was a bit disappointed by my quali lap, could have been 3 or 4 tenth quicker but couldn't allign all the sectors right. Lost a lot of time on T1 and on the section before the bridge.

The race went well. Awesome fights with @Philtaylor17 and @GOTMAXPOWER despite hitting the wall at lap 4 thanks to a small bump, but managed to recover the gap at the end of the first stint.

Next round will be special for me because I never actually tried to drive on the rain on this game. (just au few laps when rain came out last year but thats it). I don't even know what to expect:lol:

Heads up; the rain is ice and there is no dry line.

As others have said the MRs go well in the wet and we should expect the gr 2 NSX to clean up in GT500. I expect interesting moments with the traffic in the back half of the lap.

Great drive last night bud!

There seem to be 2 distinct groups forming in GT500 with some alien pace up front and myself, Barber and Grandpa fighting for scraps at the back. I blame the inferior Peugeot engine...

My terrible qualifying doesn't help

Short highlights video from my car, getting passed by Max, then by Spiner, and then fighting back with both of them, getting boxed in by 2 GT300's having a cool fight, and then the fastest lap ( should have been quicker but I put some understeer in the car with going a touch deep into the bridge section, annoying, but the new tyres saved the lap time )

And finally pictures of both battles ( I lost the position in both photos  )

I don’t want to join the sandbagging club but we’ll see how this one goes. I’ll be happy to keep it facing the right way tbh. From the few laps I ran in preseason the Lambo just wanted to turn itself around at every opportunity.
The Lambo has seen me well so far with a strong performance at Fuji and also what I thought was strong pace at st Croix until everyone else decided to raise the bar considerably even though I managed the win.
This will be an interesting race, it’s a long race which will increase the chance of mistakes given the conditions but we’ll see how practice goes on Thursday and see where we end up in the race .
