Just a quick question. Why is everyone designing their tracks so thin. The tracks I see on tv are not sidewalks people. Their wide to promote passing. You can't pass in the grass.

The track width seems to account for the grass on both sides as well (10m in the app = 6m tarmac + 2m grass on right + 2m grass on left). I think people miscalculated this when setting the width of the track when looking up references online.

Also, if your track has a tight corner, you might need to reduce the width so you can reproduce the corner accurately. Some people might choose to prioritize layout accuracy over width accuracy.

I built 'Tribute' at Max width, and love the fact u get clean passing opportunities. Love a wide track for racing.

it's a compromise ... the greater you set the track width, the 'resolution' of your possible track path is reduced

too wide, and the limitations on turn radius and proximity to other parts of the track, become crippling
too narrow, you get better track detail, but you have compromised possibilities to overtake

tracks without sharp radius turns, and without a path that folds back close to itself anywhere, are able to enjoy a full width

People need to check out the real width and length of the tracks and try to made them well, I've done so since the beginning.

A real road has lanes 3 or 3.5 m wide, so a proper four lane road is at least 12m to 14 m. Wide.

Is it possible to adjust the track width after the track has already been created?
The road ended up being more narrow than what I thought, and I really don't want to have to start over...
