Troops in Afghanistan fired in self-defence: coalition (AFP)

Afghan officials had told the coalition that 20 people were killed in the accident and subsequent rioting Monday that engulfed the whole city, coalition spokesman Tom Collins said, giving a new toll for the day's events.

The crowd had gathered after a heavy US military truck ploughed into about 12 vehicles at the northern entrance to the city during rush hour.
You know what? We're at the point where anything that can even remotely get traced back to the US, done even by accident, is seen as American imperialist aggression, and will piss off the world.

It's getting mighty tiresome. Sometimes a traffic accident is just a damn traffic accident, not a reason to loot the city and burn embassies.

it was the timing...it came soon after a helicopter attack on Taliban that were using civilians as shields caused a bunch of civilian deaths...
remember these are not Afghans killing Afghans...these are Americans killing Afghans..they see it it differently and are not in a mood to understand the WHY...only the result...and they have been that way all through history..
So I understand the Afghan response.

But I see your point and raise ..the rest of the world should just bugger off..they have no excuse for not seeing it as a stupid traffic accident.
