Tsukuba 9 Hours...What to replace it with.

I miss All Night Endurance in the original SSR11 from GT1
As do I. But updated: think SSR11 with time change (and weather), say 150 laps (4-5 hour race) starting in evening twilight and finishing just after dawn. With GT cars or prototypes, or both. I would like that.
Add mechanical failures, flags and pace car
Non accident-related random mechanical failures have no place in a video game. Don't want to redo a 24-hour race because my engine failed randomly in the 23rd hour.

No need for a pace car in a game.

Flags would be useful though.
Add option to select level of competition (so that they match your skill)
No need to complicate things. Faster drivers can use a slower car. Slower drivers can use a faster car. So simple.
Add multiplayer/B-spec driver co-op to share a car or to have a second car in the same team
Add multiplayer competition, to compete against another person/team
You should be able to create custom races with such scenarios. But single player should remain single player.

Nothing wrong with the track but 9 hours straight, 600 laps? I doubt anyone really enjoyed that.

Indeed. I could just manage four hours if there was some variety on track but not nine.

Because you don't like a race, get rid of it, right? I for one like the 9 hour tsukuba race. You could always just not race the races you don't like.

You name ANY portion or race in the game, there will be people that don't like it. Does that mean they should get rid of everything in the game, because there are people that don't like it?

I do it in three 3 hour stints with one hour break between each.

My closest win has been 6.4 seconds. (GT4 version) So yes very boring indeed.

If you use too good a car any race will be boring.

Well the thing is... You sort of need to do it to get the two twenty four hour races, especially if you were only able to play offline like I was until recently. I respect that there will be people that hate my beloved Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, etc. but I have seen a lot of hate for this race in the past so I thought it's be interesting to see what people would want it replaced with in an ideal world.

It was also quite astonishing that Kaz himself runs in the real 24 Hrs of Nurburgring, he knows exactly what type of cars run in it and then when does he do for the game? Has us needing to run an LMP1 car or similar in the race to win it. Truly baffling.

Ideally in GT6 the endurance races will have up to 32 cars and will have true multiclass racing. You can therefore enter in a lower class, win that class and claim the gold trophy without actually finishing 1st overall. That straight away gives you two or three ways to do the race, even replay it if you so desire but they should absolutely not force you to NEED to win overall.

But I really don't have faith in them doing anything of the sort unfortunately.

Fix:

Add day/night progression and weather change
Add mechanical failures, flags and pace car
Add option to select level of competition (so that they match your skill)
Add multiplayer/B-spec driver co-op to share a car or to have a second car in the same team
Add multiplayer competition, to compete against another person/team

That would make all endurances more exciting. No need to change the track, Tsukuba is actually a pretty nice track in my opinion.

👍 also, for the love of God add a podium where we can celebrate for 10 seconds at least! That would stop me from feeling awful when I finish 2nd and 3rd.

Those would be good add-ons. As far as replacement events go, I think there's already been a lot of good ones listed. Here are the ones that I think would work:
24 Hours of Daytona
24 Hours of Spa
1000km of Monza
1000km of Spa
1000km of Nürburgring
1000km of Fuji
6 Hours of Laguna Seca, like the American Le Mans Series does for their race there.
For right now, I've only included races on tracks that are already in the game. If other tracks that host endurance races for real get added, those races would be worthy additions.

We need[want] Bathurst and Sebring. Imola too.

Tsukuba 9 Hours...What to replace it with?

A Tsukuba 1 hour event, & an extensive appology for even putting a 9 hour Tsukuba race in GT5 in the first place! :sly:

What should replace the Tsukuba 9 hour race? A much better designed version of the Tsukuba 9 hour race. Preferably on the full course for at least some sort of variety.

And that goes for all of the enduros.

The Tsukuba in GT5 isn't the full course?

Technically, yes and no. It's not the full track, since the AI-drivers doesn't use the "13th" and "14th" turn;

But since those turns are modelled, it would be a yes too, I guess :boggled:.

I might be wrong, but I believe those turns are for the layout used in motorcycle racing.

I found this enduro the most enjoyable. I did it in the CT230R Evo and against a bunch of other tuner cars, it was awesome.

24h Daytona

6h Spa

24h Nurburgring

4h Nurburgring

96h Nurburgring (google it. It happened)

24h Le Mans (old and new)

12h Sebring

Bathurst 1000

Suzuka 1000

Those are the endurance races I want in the game.

As others mentioned:
Just include dynamic weather, dawn/day/dusk/night, and every track is now more interesting and bearable.

I sure hope if this happened, that PD would revert back to the B-spec system it had in place in GT4. :scared:

To answer the OP's question, I would love to see the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The track is already there. Just add a couple of the correct cars (with multiple classes too) and I'd be plenty happy.

And give it day/night and weather transitions.
