I think Tsukuba is the best track in GT5, besides Suzuka and Motegi. Really love those japanese tracks.
And I would love to see this track in GT6
Just now I have got off a room in GT5. This room is like many others as the track being used was Tsukuba. While I scrolled down the list earlier to join a good room, all rooms were using Tsukuba for drifting. Well I got out my S13 (featured in my Can't hold me back video on youtube) and got to terms with the car on a track I haven't driven on in a while. After a couple laps I pulled over and wondered "WHY THE :censored:IS THIS TRACK SO POPULAR".
I have now come to realize that it's so popular because it's the easiest track to drift in GT5. It is a newbie heaven. Novice drifters mixing with novice drifters and trying to link up the track (in futile attempts). Nobody wants to tandem with you. Rather people lone it out and hope people think they're good (Been there, done that). Nowadays I always run custom tracks. When newbie drifters see "Toscana" or Tokyo Kart" they head for Tsukuba because they know they can do okay there. Thankfully that means I'm usually left with proper drifters who love the track.
Wether I dislike it because of all the n00bs drifting on it and overusing it or the fact it's no challenge, it feels dull. It's not that drifting on track isn't fun. Drifting is fun. But when you know the track like the back of your hand and because you run it all the time, the track becomes dull.
Of course I'm just explaining what you guys probably already know but I want to know what you think of drifting on Tsukuba and what you think about it being over used by n00bs
And finally to anyone who repeatedly drifts on Tsukuba: Don't. Your driving proper drifters away from your rooms.
And one more thing
You are DS3 user, I say user because it is hard to call you a drifter.
I began drifting in GT5 with controller and felt almost the same what you wrote. I was constantly searching for new tracks and jumped from one to another.
When you drift on a wheel....You got tired, feel pain in your hands, muscles......
It is work which worth to be repeated hundreds of times on the same track to become so precise on it that your drift becomes Epic. You can only feel "wheel lock" drifting on the wheel. And enjoy it.
Sorry, but Tsukuba is more than enjoyable for me.
Lol CJ, tree'd by CJ
I DO NOT understand how the track can be EASY to drift while ANOTHER can not.I've been wondering the same thing, and I do agree that this is probably the most overused track in the game. Almost 90% of the drift rooms I see are run on Tsukuba, and as you mentioned it's because it's pretty much the easiest track to drift around in the game. For me personally, I do not like the track at all since I can drift it without thinking. And on the racing side of the game, it's not that fun to drive around either, the 4 Hour MX-5 endurance race nearlly killed me.
The POINT of drifting IS WHO does it BETTER
TakumiFuji01Turns out some guy message me that he wanted me to "fight him" by saying "Come at Me at Tsukuba D1" on PSN by the name Slick_94 or something. Guess he's mad after I told him all that truth stuff and etc.
The part he doesn't notice that my laser is being a 🤬 so no Blu-Ray Content for a week until my new laser arrives next week.
TakumiFuji01Lol like I give a damn....are you worried of how your drifting looks?? Not like a pro or anything
Nope, I know how my drifting looks. So ill take that as you don't wanna battle
EDIT: -_- Pick a time
Nah I'm just saying if you think I'm a noob then come at me. Talking crap on GTP while your PS3 don't work
TakumiFuji01There it goes again. The assuming of being "Scared", I'll pick the time once I get my laser comes. I ain't backing out of a challenge. This should interesting once I'm back.
Being new to drifting still, I find Tsukuba to be both fun AND challenging. What I'm getting tired of are Tsukuba rooms with now tire, power, or drivetrain restrictions where the host pays no attention and everyone runs an X1, a Veyron, or a Tank Car.
Worst... possible... trolls... ever. Trolls will do their favourite things; having fun while irritating other people.
Too popular?
Say if 1,000 people prefer a 180sx over a prius, does that make the prius more fun to drive?
Lets supose if you liked dubstep about 5 years ago and nobody knew that music style, then now everyone (even your grandma) enjoy the tunes, from the most legit till the most ridiculous, ruining everything.
I guess thats how the logic works.
Seriously now, the main problem is the small number of choices of genuine drift tracks in the game.
