TT# 42: 450pp RWD @ Cape Ring/ 500pp @ Daytona Road Course

Which one? I tried the S2000 R1 ’04 tuned to 500pp and got a 2.02 with my rubbish driving so with a good driver it could be a contender.

Yes, that's the one. I think I got under 2 mins, and I shaved a second off my GS/X time, because the Amuse handled better for me.

A question for the experts: It seems that in cape ring is better not to do reduction of weight. It is suitable to install also engine upgrade stage 1? In daytona it is necessary to come to 500pp.

Great Yinato's lap in Cape¡¡

I don't have a GS/X so can't compare but I've tried the Elise RM, Lambo Murcielago and Honda Mugen NX and it's definitely faster than any of them.

Not much of an "expert" but I have found the Gixxer faster with more weight and more power. I run a full 200kg of weight in mine.

Ill try the Amuse myself but im also wondering if the Spoon would work, its easily the best handling S2K but it has race car in the title so idk .
EDIT
Trying the Spoon as I type and its pretty good but needs more top end since it has some downforce to it which is why im eating my GSX under breaking. Im stuck at a 2:02 though where my GSX is at 2:00.8 .
The Amuse R1 is indeed good it'll out brake and out pull the GSX but is sliehtly slower on the straights.
I see a 1:59 fairly easy.

Thanks to jack5428's advice and tune. Was barely making it to 3:10 prior to tune. Now at 3:06. Still not good but at least I manage to keep my back planted most of the time.
Still time to figure out gsx but certainly more manageable now.

4 seconds is a massive improvement. Nice job. Are you driving manual transmission? If so this might help you alot.

I call it the soft downshift. Trick is to wait until the RPMs drop down enough so that when you downshift you feel absolutely no change in your cars cornering behavior, basically keeping the car in balance. I believe that magic RPM is roughly the RPMs when the engine produces peak torque.

For example my cars peak torque is 7500 so try to let revs drop to about 8 before downshifting.

Im in 10th at Cape Ring with a 2'54.550 using full downforce, 250kgs ballast, no engine stage, no weight reduction. Cant share rest of the tune its not mine. Cant say stage 1 wouldn't do the job, havent tried it yet, 1 or 2 less HP.

Thanks. Just started using manual last week. Will check out the soft downshift.
Great driving there getting 2:54. Normally for tt, i drive about 10 laps or less and call it quits. This one made me drove more than usual.
Given my skills or lack of, making it to top 1000 is probably out of reach. Will appreciate any advice to get better.

Hi my friends,

I'm sorry my PC is dead, i write with my IPhone but i can write this week end with the PC at home my parents. Sorry again.

Yinato.

I managed a 3:01.6 with lotus Elise 111, but I need MORE. SO FRUSTRATED! But...I'm not willing to cave into good sound logic and use gsx...please tell me someone has a good tune for the lotus for this event!? Any help is much appreciated.

Ah man, spent an hour yesterday trying to tune the oversteer out of my Suzuki and then find out that my rear tyres were still comfort softs. Golded it first time. :ouch:

If it makes you feel any better I did the same thing with the Elise. Half a dozen laps of fighting to keep it on the track for 10s off the gold time and wondering how a car that was so fantastic the last time I used it was now so rubbish. It was like the Top Gear challenge all over again.

Not sure if it will help you but here is the tune I used for trial mtn TT not too long ago. It is an amalgamation of of tunes (pretty sure a blend of kbfan and doodle but not sure) and I don't remember if or how much I changed it but I was a little quicker than 3:01 with it.

Will you have a tune that you can share with us? :nervous:

It seems that this post is dead, nobody gives any council, nobody shares any tune. In my case, I am stuck in 58.0 in Cape and 57.4 in Daytona. Daytona got some tenths down the aero rear to 5 and lsd 5-50-20. I hope someone will serve something.
Yinato, please, give us some advice... or some tune...

Not sure what you're looking for, but if you can be bothered to scan through the thread, there are plenty of tunes. I myself just used a stock tune for gold. Didn't take it any farther.

I understand that everyone has to find their own setting. Just saying because in other TT, is shared more tunes and there was more room for improvement. I managed the GSXR in Cape to 2.58.0 (# 175) and 1.57.4 (# 268) in daytona is not bad, but very, very far from the leaders. For example, I see them in daytona in the straight reach 268kmt / h, and even though I have tested the box not arrived at that speed. I understand that each setting is personal and not forced to share, but really helps us rookies.
Thanks for all the advice and sorry if someone has upset.:embarrassed:

I'd be happy to share my tunes, but you're so far ahead of me that I think I'd only slow you down! :D

Have you checked out the tuning forums? They're almost always helpful if you can't get what you're looking for here.

The gsxR 4 is one of those cars that there´s no definitive tune that will make you a lot faster. Either you have the feel for it or you don´t and when you do the trick is to decrease the aeorodynamic values so you can have more horsepower while you´re still effective on the corners.

Quoted for truth. There are people who are just wickedly fast in that thing, and I'm not even in the same universe as them. I've never been able to get a handle on that buggy.

Did the cape with gsx but didn't like it at all at Daytona. 111 racing mod did much better for me. I'm around my usual, and lame, 3000 something...

I agree with you, I decreased aerodynamic to the minimum values, and the car is in 264cv. It has reduced weight phase 1 and that perhaps I penalized in getting more cv and therefore more top speed :banghead:
