TT# 42: 450pp RWD @ Cape Ring/ 500pp @ Daytona Road Course

there should be some elise tunes from the trial mountain tt(#40) a couple of weeks ago, it might be a good place to start.

Used Audi Quatro tuned to 497pp for the Daytona TT. Great fun, beat the gold time easy enough with a couple of rally style corners.

Attempted the Cape in 440ish pp Volvo 240, but it's still a bit cumbersome. Only got 2:20.xxx.

:banghead:Thanks GTP_CargoRat, I found the Praiano's garage, now only lack a good adjustment of gearbox! My times are not very good yet...:banghead:

I managed a 2:03.??? with a borrowed GSX, didn't have to try to hard to get it. Almost matched it with an Elise 11R. Learning lots about tuning though. Can't seem to get the Autobacs to match the Elise.

This is all new to me, I'm definitely addicted!!!! Thanks everyone for your help.

A couple days ago I managed 1:58.3 with the NSX Type R at Daytona. Placing me at 220th at the moment, wish I was still at 97th when I set the time... I can't seem to get anywhere near my time anymore and I just don't get it. Maybe I've driven the car so much that I'm looking into its flaws a little too much...

That seems to happen to me all the time....lol

Durrrr... I golded the Cape Ring, finally, but it was a sumb**ch to do it. And I just now realized WHY: I misread the requirements, and tuned the li'l Suzuki down to 400pp, not the allowed 450! Yup, that would make it harder... But I golded it at that level, somehow.

I couldn't get the thing to stay planted enough at Daytona, and missed the gold by 0.089 seconds. So I got the bright idea to try a Mazda Furai, which I could only get down to 501pp with ballast and detuning. But then putting the ballast more forward (52F/48R weight distribution) got me the magic 500pp - 875kg, 250hp, quite stable. It got me down to 2:01.xxx within two laps, so I'm happy with that.

For gold, a Mazda Roadster NC '07 is more than enough, with 440pp I got 3:11.1xxx with another second possible. Using Toyota 86GT or Scion FR-S should be fun as well. I love the Mazda tho, very neutral on sweepers and esses, throttle control brings a lot of fun.

Edit : That time was for Cape Ring TT

FR-S got me a gold time at the 500pp Daytona event, too.

Need some pointers on how to drive the GSX. I can't quite keep the rear end planted as everytime I lift off the accelerator, it goes into exaggerated power slide and then spin into oblivion. Had a hard time getting gold for this time trial and exasperated that the leaderboard is like 15 seconds ahead with the same car.

Hi, another question from a newbie : That spin settings you devote to the G25, power-assisted steering? Turn amateur, professional or simulation? What is the fastest?

Thanks for the councils

There is a tune on the first page for it.

Well! Wasn't doing much good in my GSX, sitting on position 13,000 something so jumped into my faithful, and favourite, car, the LFA.
Two laps later I am 2 sec quicker and 10,000 positions lower, 3,809.
Will try other cars too.

I use simulator, the other settings made my wheel jutty, and strength wise i have it around 5.

Those settings do not apply to the G25 wheels. They only apply to the GT Force, Driving Force, and Driving Force EX. That is why those wheels are highlighted and the others arn't. Those settings do not apply to the Driving Force Pro, G25, G27, or the Driving Force GT. Hence they are not highlighted.
I'm just talking about the amatuer, pro, and sim settings.

Ok, ok, I had seen were in the options of steering wheel and I thought that applied to the G25.

Funny ... I really liked everything about the Suzuki - handling and all. Got the golds with it, but lap times felt poor. Tried other cars and now prefer Lancia Integrale rally car for Daytona and Toyota 86GT for the Cape Ring.

Oh, man...this is a fun one.

I almost broke 3 minutes on Cape Ring with a GSX.

Time: 3'00.037

Here's the setup I used...and I am NOT a Tuner.

Power: 153HP (54.1% power)
Weight: 788kg (200kg ballast, 10)
Distribution: 46 / 54

Suspension:
Ride Height: 30 / -20
Spring Rate: 16.0 / 12.5
Dampers (Extension): 9 / 5
Dampers (Compression): 7 / 4
Anti-Roll Bars: 7 / 3
Camber Angle: 2.2 / 1.0
Toe Angle: 0.20 / -0.20

LSD: 5 / 15 / 5
Downforce: 0 / 20
Brake Balance: 5 / 3

I've easily broken 2 minutes on Daytona with the same car.

You can receive a gift card for it by winning the B-Spec FGT Championship, or you can buy it from the UCD if you see it there.

Thanks for the tune. I got 2:59.5xx, currently 200th on the Cape after two hours of trying.

Try this. Try coming into the corners easy instead of last second letting off the throttle which if your turning causes the rear tires to slip because the engine acts as a brake, try driving more like you would in real life. Ease of the accelerater and do it sooner and perhaps instead of going to no throttle try driving half throttle thru those corners and see how that works for you.

You can also just watch the fastest dudes replay and see what he does thru corners but its pretty much that half throttle thing I just described.(Your engines acting to much like a brake so keep giving it some throttle):)

Some other things that can help...good tune of course. You might have a real wild tune. Active Steering Strong for sure will help. If your just getting way to much lift off oversteer you can try increasing your LSD Decell. Might also want to try using a BB of say 5 in the front and 3 in the rear.(Forward biased)

Play with your camber. Camber helps alot. Default often is set at zero camber. try some laps at 2.0 2.0 to start then try 1.5 1.5 then 2.5 2.5 then once you find the best out of say those 3 for you try lowering or raising the rear .5 then try lowering or raising the front .5 Until you get something you can live with.

Buy a rear wing from GT auto and turn the downforce up to 20 also if you havent already. Do that first if you havent.

Im in 80th roughly with no rear wing and had no super bad problems with losing the rear myself but i do the half throttle thing thru alot of the corners dont come in to hot. had an ok but not great suspension tune basically all i did was set the front ride hieght to maximum the rear ride to minimum the cambers to 2.0 and no toe front or rear LSD 10 20 10 and a trick tranny, spent alot of time dialing my tranny in. BB 5/3

I borrowed a friends GSX. It was brand new and had no stage 1 2 or 3 engine upgrades or any weight reductions. I added 200 kg of weight at minus 5. Ended up with 188 hp at a total weight of 840 KG. I added the 200 kg so i could get more HP and hit higher top speeds.

No idea if I had more than a few hours with it if I could have dialed the supension tune in to go much lower or not. I kinda felt i was in the ball park as far as how quick the leaders were hitting the start finish line and the end of the long straight as far as power and weight but couldnt experiment with engine upgrades or weight reductions or a rear wing. Couldnt enter GT auto or the tuning shop with a borrowed car.👎

This one worked really well for me. Never thought it would make such a difference. It worked on both tracks. What about the gears? Feels like there's something that can be improved - so far I've only adjusted the final speed with some positive effect.

Go take a look here. It's a simple method by Praiano & works well.

Fantastic, come back from holiday & find a new Academy car waiting for me with the Academy Challenge & the TT & Drift Trial ( never too fussed with the latter ) but the TT's were great fun. Used the little Suzuki for Cape Ring, got Gold on 5th lap, I do love that track. Then onto Daytona, used the BMW M3 '07, that took a little longer but was great fun sliding that thing around. Found the GSX/R didn't need too much tuning as its pretty sorted as stock, the BMW needed a bit of fettling just to stop it 360ing at every bend in the road, but once sorted, fantastic car.

Awesome advice jack5428. Been practicing all day and getting better times.

Thanks.

I found the Amuse S2000 even better than the GSX-R/4 on Daytona, IMO

Which one? I tried the S2000 R1 ’04 tuned to 500pp and got a 2.02 with my rubbish driving so with a good driver it could be a contender.

I finally got around to running the CR TT in the Gixxer. Man I do love that car. It sticks so well on CS tires. Got a 3:05 on my first lap and called it good. I know I could knock a couple of seconds off that but don't really feel motivated.

I have the car on share in case any of my friends wants to use it.

Thanks to jack5428's advice and tune. Was barely making it to 3:10 prior to tune. Now at 3:06. Still not good but at least I manage to keep my back planted most of the time.
Still time to figure out gsx but certainly more manageable now.
