Based purely on that video, I'd say it's a mix of these three factors:

1: GT sometimes overreact in crashes. Particularly when any degree of lag is involved. It appears to me as if @Turbo_snail lagged slightly.
2: @Turbo_snail and @ITCC_Andrew simply don't give each other the space necessary to perform an overtaking.
3: @nascarfan1400 losing control of his Racing Softs. Who would've thought that would be possible in a ~250-hp (?) FF?

I would say though @ITCC_Andrew pretty much had it in the bag. None of you could've overtaken him in that short a sprint once he passed @Turbo_snail. It would take a clean hit from an X1 to do that

I don't know, should there be a penalty to @Turbo_snail ?

I'll put it this way, I probably deserve the penalty, but if I don't get penalized, I'm not going to say "give me a penalty"

That's why I'm not deciding it, you aren't deciding it, and Andrews not deciding it.
The video gives others a chance to make the decision.

I don't think a penalty is necessary (if it is, then it's a small one). But as I said, it's likely that the game overestimated the "smashpower" when @Turbo_snail touches @ITCC_Andrew, aided by the lag. If I did just the same move on someone who was literally sat right next to me (thus minimising lag), I don't think the game would react that way. I'd say Andrew should have a 1 second compensation (as in 1 second deducted from his total time) because he fell victim to a small-tap-turned-huge-wreck incident nobody could do anything about.

My question is, what about the fact that snail bumped me off the track on the back stretch, then Andrew?

much review.
such confusion.

Replay on my end shows no contact at all... ;) Seems to be the same story on your end of the replay. That outside pass was perfect!

To me, that also looks overreacted due to lag. There's no way the rear of an FF would swing that much without building it up. It appears all too sudden to not be lag.

I'd say the end was a racing incident caused by two guys going for it on the last lap and amplified by lag. If there's any problems with conduct, it's definitely in the chicane.

Through the chicane, I completely out braked my self (because holy crap I was a hot chance of winning), so no I didn't mean to cut the chicane there. And a interesting side note

I personally don't feel that anyone did anything wrong. Turbo did block, but he only made one move and left a lane of space (depending on your yellow line rule), so fair game. The wreck looks like a lag incident. Can't blame anyone for that.

I've never seen ducking under the yellow line to make a pass allowed.

Looking at that, and others opinions, I think we are done here:
@Turbo_snail has won the 2014 VW BATB!
@Akmuq, the reason why that's not factored is because you may go below the yellow if you are forced, or you are avoiding an accident.
