I like to wear a tuxedo racing suit when I drive. 'Cause it says like, I wanna be formal but I’m here to party too. I like to party when I drive.'

Just for fun.

I know I haven't posted in here for awhile but I am going to explain everything right now.

Nurburgring GD/F race: I had to leave that race early due to my tooth, tongue and stomach killing me and it just didn't put me in the mood and mindset to race.

Wednesday and Friday practices and Saturday race: School started that week and with the homework from school and huge, important personal family matters that week was a big NO for showing up.

Today: I can not show up today as I will be attending a family party.

There you guys have it, I am back now for good and I am sorry for any inconvenience I have caused, sorry.

I got a new ps3 I think the old one finally died is there a way to get data of old hard drive

I've done this all to many times. If the old ps3 will turn on, get a USB flash drive in it and get gt5 data. If it won't turn on (blinks) you usually gotta tear it down to the main board clean the chips and heat the 2 chips with a hair dryer or heatgun then apply new thermal paste (from radio shack) to the chips and put it back together. Then get your USB stick in there and get your data.

Sounds daunting but I can do it in 11 minutes. Use YouTube videos for help.

I still have my launch fat. It's had rlod twice, laser cleaned dozen times and 1 new laser. Still working great! I've never seen one that was totally dead. Although I use 3 slims now!

I've fixed about a dozen different ps3's. They are very robust!

Also don't swap hard drives.. If you stick the old hdd in the new ps3 it will wipe it clean an you lose everything.

Only the ps3 that wrote the hdd can read it.

Race 9: Cape Ring
Car: Chevrolet Camaro SS RM ‘10
Laps: 18
Tires: Racing Mediums
Date: September 8, 2012
Prize: 1966 or 1967 Birthday Ticket

The “Golden Rule” of Motorsports
“It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free.”

Rules

You are expected to follow The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports and adhere to the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules and exercise Good Racecraft at all times, especially in turn 1.

Policies

It is the policy of this league (except Division X) for you to hold your position in turn 1 and not try to improve it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. Division X drivers must observe this policy for as long as we are having mixed division races. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. Furthermore, it is inappropriate to take advantage of other drivers doing their part to keep turn 1 incident free.

First Turn

The first turn on this track is tight so be sure to hold your position through it. Other drivers may draft past you before the approach to the turn because the straight is so long. Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn. In other words, if you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn you may. This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. However, if a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Dive Bombing

Dive bombing is unacceptable, and only results in accidents. It is not the same as passing under braking. Dive-bombing is when a trailing car intentionally brakes late to dive underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into a corner. The trailing driver must move to the low groove for at least 3-4 seconds prior to corner entry, so that the leading driver can see the trailing drivers intentions in his mirror. However, running the low groove is not a guarantee that he will allow you to pass, it is only an indication that you wish to pass him on the low side.

Procedures

Racing begins at 10pm Eastern / 7pm Pacific. Divisions 1 and 2 will race together in the TURTLE_Division2 lounge. Divisions A and 3 will race together in the TURTLE_Division3 lounge. The final results of each division will be separate.

Connection Issues

Please follow the procedures below to help minimize connection issues.

Step 1: Reboot your modem/router before entering the appropriate Turtle lobby
Step 2: Reboot your PS3 before entering the appropriate Turtle lobby
Step 3: Clear your GT5 in game System Cache before entering the appropriate Turtle lobby

Pit Stops

Drivers need to be very careful entering the race track when exiting the pit. Please look at your map to see if other drivers are near the pit exit. Drivers exiting the pit need to stay in the pit exit lane until the track is clear of cars on the track. Cars on the track have the right of way.

Penalties

The corner cutting penalty system works very well on this track so we shouldn't have any issues with corner cutting.

Quitting

Drivers are expected to finish races no matter what position they are in. Rage quitting is frowned upon! :grumpy:

Microphones

Although you are welcome to use microphones during the race, they should only be used to communicate your proximity to other drivers in order to avoid an incident. Otherwise, either mute them or make sure any background noise in non-existent.

Reminders

Be sure to break in your car. If you did not get a chance to break it in, you should at least change the oil.

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward.

Final Note

Race Clean and Have Fun!

Courtesy of Infinital-NG,

When you exit the pits you are right in the firing line the first turn. The pit exit line extends through the first turn. Found this video and you can see how far the pit lane extends.

Typically you should stay in that lane until it ends. (0:26 seconds on video) With the race being a "tire-shredding event" I can see people on track (not pitters) running wide on that turn. It's important for everyone to be aware of the drivers around you at all times, but especially during that section. If we stick to the OLR rules that pit exit cars must remain in the lane, then I believe it's more a reason for the on track cars to be aware of those cars exiting pit lane. Cars on the track do have the right to any driving line they wish, but in this case those cars exiting pit need to stay in that pit exit lane until they are out of that lane.

Clipping From GTP OLR

04: Pit Etiquette:

A:
When you enter the pit-lane, you're not allowed to cross the white pit-entry-line. PE-1b: When you exit the pit-lane, you're not allowed to cross the white pit-exit-line.

B:
Cars on the race track have right-of-way over cars entering the race track from the pits. You have to take care not to interfere with other drivers on the track. Swerving in front of upcoming cars to defend your position is not allowed. You have to stay on the same side of the track as the pit exit until the first corner.

Won't be able to make it tonight, sprained my wrist during football practice and cant even move it, so its a no go

What would happen if I had to leave after the first race? Would my first race not count?

Yes but show up anyway. This is not about winning or losing just having fun! It's by points so someone running both races will get more points than just one race worth, but we would be glad to have ya anyways!
