You would just have to mess with the "Weather at Race Start", "Weather Changeability", and Surface Water.

It wouldn't be exact. Like at Suzuka this weekend (I know we aren't there for a few weeks) it's 60% chance of rain. So coming up to race time if it's raining, it's raining in our virtual world.

I remember seeing some race series that used it, but never participated in one.


Formula 1 comes on Speed. Usually they air the race, live, then another later on. For Spa, it came on at 6:00am (EST I think), then it aired again at 12:30am.

Sometimes F1 will come on ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX (one of those can't remember.) If you have speed and don't see it that weekend, then it's on the major networks. Speed will also show the practice & qualifying when they happen.

Most other noteworthy things that Speed TV shows that I pay attention to are:

Grand-Am (Rolex & Continental) Continental is a week delay I think
Australian V8 Supercars
Nascar (not a fan unless they are on a road course)
British Touring Car (they seem to show those more in the winter months at weird times through the day)

Thx again for the invite...sure sounds like it's gonna be fun, looking forward to it. I don't have a headset yet for the ps3 yet tho. Was gonna buy the official Sony ps3 wireless one but I heard the battery life on it was horrible and there was supposed to be a new one coming out real soon; I think I may hold out for it.
Also just curious, do many of you guys use a wheel and if you do, how do you like it?
 
Yes most of us use wheels but not all of us. The wheel makes the game more fun for me, and I like the way the cars in the game drive while using the wheel as compared to a controller.
As far as mics go I have a Turtle beach wired so I dont have to worry about battery life.You would have to ask Psycho about his wireless mic. I think he has a sony, but not sure.
Maybe he will chime in on that when he reads this.👍
 
I use a cheap jabra bluetooth that ive had for a few years. Works just fine.

Also using a Ds3 Atm, but in the market for a wheel.

I have both the Turtle Beach DPX21s and the Sony PS3 headset. Don't worry about the battery life on the Sony Headset. You can get an evening of racing in easily. They are light, they sound good, and are more comfortable all the way around than the Turtle Beach DPX21s.

The DPX21s fit better but after a couple of hours they start hurting your ears. The DPX21s also sound better and communicate more consistently. Sometimes others drivers just can't hear me on the Sony Headset. That has never been a problem with the DPX21s.

Overall if my Sony Headset would communicate better I would only use them. But, I have 4 PS3s in the house with 3 of them wireless and Lap Tops and I-pads all on a wireless network. That may be why my Sony PS3 Headset doesn't communicate well. I hope that helps!

Haha I must say I like your option the best xD, but I wanna be able to crank the game volume up w/o disturbing anyone so I'm going full headset.

Man those turtle beaches look really nice but I'm Way too clumsy for expensive wired things; already ruined a nice pair of razer carcharias's AND the jacks on the back of my HDTV :embarrassed:

And thx Psycho tuber for the feedback on the sony's, I'll probably end up getting those.

Hey Infinital-NG, I have the G27 with a wheelstandpro. It works great! I put in a deal alert at dealnews.com and just waited for a good deal. Newegg had them for $204 last week.
 
Hey I heard best buy has them for $150.00 because they are not going to carry them in store anymore. Might be worth checking into.

What did you end up getting it for?

I had a DFGT before, but never got as much time on it as I wanted. Bought it from best buy where they gave me 30 days no questions asked return policy.

Only thing keeping me from it is wife & baby. Usually at night I play PS3 in the bedroom and the TV is mounted over a dresser and not a good setup to use a wheel. At this point the baby is still waking up occasionally at night and my wife works longer days than me, so usually I end up taking care of her. When i get a wheel I will play in the living room, and I guess I"ll just have to use the baby monitor.

Back to the Race,

Maybe for qualifying turn tire wear off so everyone can try and put in fast laps without burning out the tires?

Just a heads up for all of you, if you call Logitech and tell them your DFGT broke (even if you've never owned one) they will give you a G27, which is a much better wheel, for half price. No questions asked, no receipt needed. 👍

I liked the DFGT but those pedals are crap. Seen a few mods where people are putting g27 pedals into it.

Best Buy's not listing the G27 anymore.

Might be worth calling Logitech and try Afro's method. When was last time that succeeded Afro?

A couple friends of mine got their G27's a few weeks ago for half price using that method, so it should still work 👍

I still haven't gone to a practice yet. Is it just the basic turtle town? Or my division? btw im hosting f1 weekend monza for the next hour if anybody wants to bring a ferrari. Cheers.
