Wow! Last night was the first time I drove a Nascar... and it didn't turn out pretty.
I kept on spinning recovering from a crash... no matter how hard I press on my brakes, sometimes I don't think the car will stop. Any tips on how to control Nascars?
Sounds like it was a fun race Friday night. How many people showed up for it? My good news was that I was just promoted to manager at my job. I work at a swimming pool supply store, so I'm going to be putting in a lot of hours now to the end of the summer. Hopefully I don't mess things up and get to keep the position. But again, it may mean I will miss some races here if I don't have time to practice or get home late some nights.
Because I had to miss Friday's race, I decided to take my NASCAR out to Suzuka to see how it was. I was very impressed how the car handled, but I think a part of it was my improved throttle control. I remember my first ever FLEX race, it was NASCAR race at Daytona Road Course; I finished dead last in that, and the handling of it was a huge turnoff for me (that, and its NASCAR, being one of my least favorite cars). Now, after participating in FLEX, and others, I have found my throttle control using my DS3 has improved significantly, thanks to this series (and the others). Why am I saying all of this? To the new drivers who raced on Friday and didn't do too well, I know your pain all too well. All I can say is don't let this be a turnoff from the series; instead, use this as a stepping stone to get started on a path to improve your driving style. You may not be successful at every race, but your skills will benefit from it. Plus, you got us to help you out if you are ever stuck on something. Just don't ask us what is the meaning of life, because the answer is 42. But anyway, I'll see you on the track!
This is good to know.You use a controller.would have never guessed it.I watched you in enduro practice and your throttle control was very good and your lines were smooth,I am happier this morning knowing this.you were running 2:14 laps in practice with a controller very good.Because I had to miss Friday's race, I decided to take my NASCAR out to Suzuka to see how it was. I just switched to l2 and r2 for brake and throttle.This is better but takes some getting use too.
Would you care to tell what you set steering sensitivty on? Ihave tryed them all and seems anything from 4 TO 7 i cant tell much difference.So i set mine on 5 and that seems to work pretty good.
I wonder if there is a rule for double posting...
To the others, thanks for the complements.
It was the enduro practice this past week with the Mclaren.I don't think I ever messed with my steering sensitivity. Whatever the default value is for it, that's how I roll with it. And yes, I am a DS3 user, but I use the analog sticks for handling and acceleration; it's my preferred way in GT5. BTW, which practice was this? ^^;
