My god! Torres actually scored! It can't be him, must be an imposter...
He's still playing rubbish though. He lost the ball in a crucial area and then missed a chance that Silva would have put in the back of the net. All in the space of 2 minutes.

I do wish, not a fan of the Spanish! And the Trapattoni reference was quite clever :).

Trust me, if America can hang with teams like Brazil, Mexico, and England (thank you again Robert Greene), then I believe in just about anything in soccer!

CAM
It's all part of the plan, the Irish are just lulling them into a false sense of security, and then they will strike... ;)

Once McGeady pulls off one of his trademark spins, that's when it'll all kick off. I can already tell.

That last sequence looked promising, other than the poor cross. Defense is playing better as well, I agree.

The statistics sure arent favouring the Irish, though :(

Completes passes 255:92 or something like that in favour of Spain... Ball possession doesn't look any brighter.

By the way, one of the best parts during yesterday's Germany vs Netherlands match:

Crap - missed the second goal - wash hanging up my washing :embarrassed:

Not surprising, but still a shame that Ireland are being seriously outplayed here.

That said, Shay Given just pulled off the best save of the tournament to prevent it being 3-0... a world class save.

I've seen the whole 'lulling into a false sense of security' before, but this is some world class lulling...

Damn shame Ireland lost, but nice to see the fans just happy to be there, singing while losing 4-0 and even after the final whistle.

I doubt Spain gave it their all. Probably saving up their energy for more serious matches. Still a bit gutted about Ireland being completely destroyed... :( Wanted them to do better so much.

Well, Torres redeemed himself, at the very least.

Yup, German commentators said that as well. Already announced the Irish fans to be the best fans out there, and rightfully so. One more reason why their team would've deserved to do better :( Oh well.
