"Go fun yourself!" they said last year. And so I went.

And today I got my first car!

It's a 2015 Toyota Aygo X-Play (with Style and OUTglow packs)

One thing that didn't went as planned is the roof color. The book showed and said that it will be red. Toyota promised to contact me about this. Everything else seems fine at the moment. =)

I'll post some more pictures next time. This was a long day. ^_^'

If you have questions, I'll gladly answer them!

Dat faux Nismo. :P

They do look much better in white than I thought. At least in the flesh and without the red roof. Still can't quite top black with silver "X" trim, but it looks smart at it is.

Good to see you finally get your hands on one. 👍

Good to hear you got a new Aygo. I really enjoy this, one of my favourite city cars. I also do have a few questions, if you can answer then; how is the interior like? Is the car confortable? Since I don't know if you have driven the car yet, I won't ask any questions about the driving part for now.

As for the rest, a very good-looking Aygo. Good luck with the future trips you'll have with it. 👍

Is the red lower lip spray painted on or is it a vinyl? I guess with the roof that would be a red vinyl if they get round to putting it on for you! Oh and do you get to keep the car cover?

Cool car, Baby LFA Everywhere!

I still can't believe Toyota used the slogan 'Go Fun Yourself'...

The front lower lip and roof are vinyl. The... things on the sides are soft plastic? I'll tell you tomorrow, I haven't touched them. xD

Baby LFA :3

And that slogan is weird xD

I'll ask about the cover. =)

Thank you!

I will post the interior photo tomorrow.
It is modified with the OUTglow pack. The Steel Gray dashboard parts are changed to Bold Black and the Black parts around the ventilation ducts and around the gear lever changed to Red Pop.
The seats are textile, 3-tone.
I think it's comfortable at the front. The driver's seat has a wide range of adjustments. The front seats are comfy and provide good side support. The also look sporty.

I can't fit on the rear seat if I will be sitting behind myself. I'm 188 cm tall, so my head touches the roof.
The rear seats are higher than the front as the fuel tank is hidden under them.
My sister and mother had no problems.

And ...the interior smells good! People were telling stories about how bad the new cars smell. Cheap toxic plastic, etc. But I was surprised to find that the interior has no bad smell at all. It almost smells like... leather? Must be from the steering wheel and the gear lever.

As for the ride quality... I can't say much at the moment. But from what I have experienced so far (and I can only compare it to a second gen diesel Yaris- it was my driving school car) it feels good. It feels softer, yet the side roll isn't big and the car doesn't wobble. The sound insulation is surprisingly good too, although I haven't driven it faster than 50 km/h yet.
The gearbox is interesting. It's an automated manual transmission (robot?) and so far I don't see anything bad. Shifts almost unnoticeable. I think it shifts down faster than up. And it creeps similar to a full-auto gearbox.
It also has a manual mode, and you can use the gear lever or the paddles under the steering wheel to change gears. I need to test it. It's the first time the car shifts gears for me :P

No, thank you for answering back. 👍

It is really interesting feedback that you have given us. It seems that the Aygo you have really leans towards the sporty side, but it is still quite confortable. I do guess that being a small city car, tall people such as yourself do tend to have some trouble sitting in the back of the car. And the fact that the fuel tank is placed beneath the seat doesn't really help matters.

I am surprised to hear you mention how does the interior smell, I wasn't expecting that. But the Aygo not smelling bad must be a plus of some sort, if people do care about that. The only new car where I sat was the Peugeot 308 SW, and that didn't really smell that bad at all.

And as for the ride quality, good to hear that it's confortable, but also safe. A good city car has to be somewhat spunky and agile. But safety also does matter, so it's nice to see that the Aygo does that well. Quality should be solid, since new Toyotas have been somewhat praised over the years in that department. As for the gearbox, it should be called an automated manual transmission, I don't think it has other names. Being part automatic part manual, it works on most environments. You could use the manual mode if you want to have control of that part, or just use automatic for city driving (and when you're stuck in traffic jams).

As a side note, I like the faux-Nismo (not stealing from Wiegert, that's his catchphrase ) look, but I do prefer somewhat the red/black combo. As in, red body with black details. I once saw my father drive behind an Aygo like that, and I really liked the way that color combo flowed.

Thanks for interior picture, it looks good. The red inserts work well enough, considering the car's sporty look. Sure, there's still a whiff of old Aygo in there, but it's modern and edgy. And that's what matters, really.

Also, having a button to turn off the driving aids is really funny; the Peugot 108 also has a button to turn off the ESP. I don't know if anyone will ever use those, but I commend the person who thought of that.

This car really wants to be a sportscar. xD

It can be useful in certain situations where you want the wheels to spin a little - freeing your car from snow etc. However, even then I'm not sure many regular drivers would know to press it in such a situation.

A good point, I didn't think of those uses for a shut-down ESP. But also as you said, how many drivers know of that? Not that many, I reckon...

It looks so aggressive and yet so approachable, I love it. The "baby LFA" comment basically sums up the styling perfectly, both inside and out.

I love cars that have that "everything is built into one gauge" thing.

Or showing that you can indeed burnout the tires all the way through first gear, thank you very much.

Oh nice it even has paddle shifters. I didn't notice that before. Is this car in any of the racing games? Would love to check it out. If it is not in a game, it should be. :)

The first generation Aygo ( along side with it's sisters- Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107) was in a Forza 4.
I would love to see the new one in Gran Turismo 6 or 7 :3

EDIT: oh and about the roof. The red roof color wasn't a part of the pack. I believe them, looking at the low price tag.

Those cars are bland compared to yours. Hopefully F6 or GT7 will have your car. ;)
On a side note I do like the Peugeot 107 and used it quite a bit in F4.

Edit. With some vinyl creativity in F4, it would be fairly easy to create a car similar to how yours looks. I would guess someone has probably already attempted this.

Visited our summer house 50km outside the city. Having a car is almost like having a time machine. Usually it took almost 3 hours- By bus from home to the city center (30-40 minutes), then by tram to the train station (10-15 minutes), then by train (1 hour), then by foot (40 minutes). Now it took me 1 hour (it will take even less if I'll go above 90 in a 110 km/h zones)

@Niku Driver HC - about the ride quality on high speeds. The sound insulation is fine. We talked without rising our voices. Most of the noise is the road noise, the wind is barely heard.
One thing I didn't understand- from time to time the car slightly shifted left or right. Ether the cause is the uneven road surface, because I noticed this while driving on such roads.
Or maybe it's the winds, as I noticed this effect when semi-trucks were close.
Or maybe I should check the wheel alignment. :P
Still, the car felt stable and I liked the trip.

The original picture looked really boring and I was messing with the effects and really liked how it came up.
Just noticed that the spoiler has a protective shield... I'll take it off.... maybe.

Lawn mower. =)
The nose of the car is low and the grass and soft soil made it even lower. ))

UPDATE: Checked the wheel alignment. All is good. That's just how the car reacts to uneven surface. I just didn't had a chance to feel this effect during the driving lessons.

UPDATE: Made a short video. Just "driving in circles".
7.35 km drive from east Tallinn to Iru power plant and back.

Hello all! I wanted to tell that you can always use the paddle shifters and you don't have to switch to manual mode, that the front and rear bumpers are covered in transparent protective film... but now I will have to tell that I got hit by a dump truck.

A new highway is being built. Right now the cars are traveling both ways on one line. There's a temporary roundabout. The trucker noticed it too late, lost control, started swirling. I went right, but he still hit me on the side.

Loud bang, left ear ringing, car stopped. I haven't really felt anything. It actually felt...soft. Must be the airbags.
I'm just glad that me and my mom are okay.

Aygo absorbed the hit well. We didn't get a scratch. Poor car...
Man, I waited for it longer than I actually driven it. I have driven 2118 km...

I'll post an update tomorrow. Going to talk about stuff with Toyota.

Bad luck mate, thats a pretty hard hit.

Yeah... That moment when you see a truck coming at you, swirling from left to right and you don't know where to go.
And no, my life didn't flash before my eyes. I turned off the ignition and started to look for my glasses.

...well, it's never fun when an update of a GTP member's car regards a crash which writes the car off completely, but at least the good news is that neither you or your mother were injured severely in the crash itself. As for the poor Aygo, it's a sad end for it, such a fun car didn't really deserve this as its story ending, but this is how the world spins. :(

I talked to Toyota and the insurance companies. All I have to do now is wait. The insurance company promised to give me a car.

One more pic. (I'm the tall guy with a hat and glasses, the other one is the trucker.)
Look how far the truck stopped from the crash site.

UPDATE:

They gave me a 2014 Ford Focus till 17th of August for now. It feels so huge, and I'll need to get used to stick shift again. :/

Ah, it's 5th of September already. One month since the car accident.

I'm getting ready for a new start. The Focus is no longer with me, as the insurance company finished with their work. The bank got insurance money and I received some funds too. More than I hoped for even.
The price for the car is slightly bigger than in January and a one year insurance is no longer available. Toyota promised a good deal though, we'll see on Monday.
So far everything goes fine.

Oh, the damaged Aygo will be sold at the auction HERE

I miss her... So painful... (sigh, shouldn't have listened to Phantom Pain music while writing this ♪.nucleaaaar.♫)

P.S. Thank you for your support @Wiegert @Katiegan @Niku Driver HC
