What are you talking about?
Are you talking to me?

I did read the first page.
And my post is in keeping with what the O.P. specified as selections for this thread.

As the person who wrote it I can only say no it doesn't and you probably didn't read it correctly or chose to disregard it.
Don't mind it anymore what people wish to post here, but don't say the suggestions you made are within the original intention of this thread because they aren't, the Family Truckster maybe but the 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis GS is just a normal car which could be in any GT-game if PD chose it to be.

PLEASE READ THE FIRST POST BEFORE POSTING SUGGESTIONS.

Remember it can be anything with wheels/tracks, etc. ( and preferable motorised ) as long as it's capable of driving on a road, and it is not meant to be entirely serious although I would love to see such a game appear as a humorous or somewhat serious ( meaning you'd really like to drive those vehicles ) distraction/addition or for some maybe the lifelong fulfillment of driving a John Deere around the Nurburgring.;)

Okay, the cars I mentioned have wheels, check
They are motorized, check
They drive on a road, check
and they were not entirely serious, check.

Am I missing something here?

Were you talking about this section in your original post?

"And it can't be anything which already could be added to either GT or TT."

Theoretically any car with wheels and a motor could be added to GT or TT. If you didn't want people to mention unlikely production cars, or normal cars, you should have said so specifically in so many words.

And it doesn't have to be anything racing related only, just vehicles you would like to drive in a game perfectly recreated by PD, and please only add vehicles which aren't likely to be included, not categories which already are present in some form in either game such as SUV's, 4x4's, etc., just try to think outside the box.

Neither of the cars I put forward is likely to be in a GT game.
Neither of them are racing related.
Both of them are vehicles I would like to see in the game.
And neither of these cars fit into categories which are already present in GT games.

:dunce:

Honestly, I don't have the time to do it, but you should go back through this thread and see how many posts violate the "original intention" of your thread.
Are all those people stupid? I don't think so. I think you put down very vague and contradictory criteria for what constitutes an "unlikely vehicle" and you shouldn't be
surprised by the responses you are getting.

Also, you might want to go back and look at some of your own posts in this thread. You mention a Peterbuilt Hot Rod that looks almost exactly like the Jay Leno Tank Car, you nominate a Ford Transit and a Mercedes L-319 "PRODUCTION" Van--remember we have had vans before in the Gran Turismo series? :dunce: So apparently you can't even follow your own rules, or maybe they were written so poorly that you misunderstood them yourself.

You quoted the part which said, and it can't be anything which already could be added to either GT or TT.That clearly means no cars or bikes, only categories of vehicles which are either outside or inbetween cars and bikes.
That Mercury ( the other one is a modified movie related vehicle which is okay I guess ) is a normal production car which could be found in a GT-game if PD decided they would like to include it.
I further clarified the intention of this thread in multiple posts in the beginning of this thread but most got the general idea without further explanation themselves as they were perfectly capable of understanding that the unlikely vehicles were never going to be found in either a GT or TT game but in a seperate game by PD ( hypothetically ofcourse ).
I suggest reading it properly and not saying your own interpretation of it is the correct one, which it isn't.

But go ahead if you want to post the entire Mercury line-up from past to present as I don't care anymore for this thread and I wouldn't mind if it were to be closed but don't say the initial intention wasn't made clear.
Sure it could have been made clearer perhaps, but the point of this thread was for people to use their imagination and what sort of vehicles ( as in categories ) they would like to experience besides the ones currently provided by GT and TT.
If I specified it too much it would perhaps stall their creativity or imagination.
I certainly didn't expect to have an argument whether a Mercury production car was eligible for this thread..............

And a Ford Transit with a Formula 1 derived Ford Cosworth engine in the back.:sly:

ford-transit-supervan.jpg

Vans have been included in GT games before, and the Ford Transit is a production van.

I know this tread might appear somewhat confusing and some vehicles may be difficult to categorise but this is not a wish list for vehicles in either GT or TT.( please read the first post before posting suggestions ).
It can be considered a wish list for a seperate game title, including all sorts of vehicles you would like to see and would like the ability to drive in a game ( regardless why or what for, just for fun ).

Some vehicles which seemed unlikely ( like Jay Leno Tank Car ) have made it in GT but those are exceptions and that Tank Car is basically still a car.
So please add vehicles which either fall between bike and car or outside both categories.
Or cars and bikes which are so completely different and outlandish the chances of inclusion are unlikely. ;)

Some more suggestion to inspire to think outside of the box

A Peterbilt Hot Rod....

You say the Jay Leno Tank car is unlikely, but that it's still a car, yet you post a vehicle which looks uncannily similar in the very...same...post

And it's bigger West-German counterpart, the Mercedes-Benz L-319.

Another production van.

You're forgiven ;), i'll include another Mazda which does fit the bill ( although you may not actually like it very much ), the late seventies E-series....

574.jpg

And another van...

It reminded me ( and it appears to share some components, headlights, as well ) to another vehicle which could be on this list, the Volkswagen T2. ;)

VW_T2_Viking.jpg

And yes, another van. The Renault van was in GT2. They have already demonstrated that they will put vans in their games.

But whatever. You should have named this the imaginary car wishlist or something, instead of the unlikely vehicle thread. Or made your rules much clearer and then followed them yourself. Lesson learned. I never should have even posted in this thread.

You mean the Renault Espace F1? That isn't a van but an MPV.
To be fully correct, a concept car based on a people carrier, definitely not a commercial van.
The only "van" in GT was a small classic Honda, another commercial vehicle is the Daihatsu Midget but nowhere near a big commercial van or truck ( unless you count the Dodge Ram as a commercial truck ).
That Peterbilt may look a like the Jay Leno Tank Car in your opinion but it's a hot rod based on a truck, not a design of its own.

Er....I'm calm, and as for being too strict, I've given up any hope for this thread going anywhere were it was intended to go a long while ago.
I simply don't care anymore what people want to post here or whether this thread remains open or not.
Please carry on and have a field day............:)

I was a little harsh there. Sorry. It's your thread and you manage it as you please.

I really doubt the Dodge Spirit a.k.a. the Plymouth Acclaim will be making an appearance lol. It's the car that I currently drive and it's not exactly, uh, performance-oriented lol. You have to measure its 0-60 time with a calendar.

^ Polyphony Digital already tested the Mach 5. Road&Track magazine stated that courtesy of Sam "Sam-Sam" Mitani:

Road&Track
Special thanks to Warner Bros. Studios for supplying the car; Yokohama Tire Co. for their support arranging the photo shoot; Willow Run Airport for renting us a hangar, and Polyphony Digital Inc. for creating a virtual simulation of the Mach 5 that we used for our performance tests.

This one's front "tyres" or gliders can be flipped to make the thing fly! Well it is a concept...

Yes it's a porsche, but I am referring to the dimensions more than the car

Please note these are (mostly) concept cars, but lets face it are these cars that likely to be in GT5?

I don't think "Geoff" or the G-Wizz will be in the game. I'll try to think of some other unlikely cars off the top of my head right now: Chevrolet Citation, AMC Gremlin or Pacer, Reliant Robin, Ford Pinto, Pontiac Aztek, Yugo GV, Fiat Multipla. That is all. Feel free to add to this list :).

So PD is going green with hybrids but how about looking out for the disabled

^ Whats the name of this car? This car can be qualified on my VWL. :)

^ What are the names of these two cars? Yes, they are unlikely. But not ridiculous, also deserves to be on my VWL. ;)

^ Gran Turismo for Boys anyone? Or maybe Choro-Q. :indiff:

Anyone suggested that type of race ?

Though I guess that driving the furthest with 1 litre of gasoline wouldn't be that much of a thrill for most racers...
