Unlimited number of engine swaps

One interesting thing that I noticed yesterday.

I was abusing the script for like a week non stop. Got a million engines, parts, money, cars. But I was still missing many cars in my collection. Two nights ago I hit 100 mil, and decided to spend most of it, mostly to make room for more money. So i blew 72 mil on every single car that I didn't already have.

After that, I started to recieve gift cars from spins that I just purchased (Bugattis, VGTs ...). I didn't recieve those cars for 6 days of non stop ticket roulletes, but as soon as I bought them with credits, they started to appear in spins and I started to win them.
Yeah, I noticed that the roulette tend to gift the missing cars for the gr* cars. There is the occasional repeats but most of the time , i get a new one that I didn’t have.

That's interesting observation something similar happened to me, after I bought certain cars, that I received them as gifts too.

RIP to this bonanza

Patched today with a bag of other "fixes" to make it not look quite as cynical
I don't think they needed to mask the "cynicism" - it was inevitable.

Don't know how anyone could really complain - some people have made an absolute killing. Even those that barely used it, got more than they could have expected in comparison to the drip fed, literal roulette wheel luck-of-the-drawer tedium.

I guess it's back to the Pan American AFK for now (alongside playing when I can). Time to roll out the poor Tomahwak road car to earn credits again until the next "glitch"

If they released a patch JUST to fix that one issue then they would get flamed.

There is PLENTY to complain about, the fact that we needed to use a glitch in the gambling roulette system in a racing game in order to get content in the game is a disgrace and a shambles which is rightly attacked by the community.

We're seeing it differently pal. I would not have been surprised if they only patched this and immediately too. I'm staggered PD allowed it to run for the best part of 2-3 weeks. Don't think flamed comes into it, this has smashed their MTX model.

There's much to complain about in GT7 but the glitch, the benefits and the way they've seemingly shut it down - it could have been a lot worse had there been bans, a server rollback, removing the rewards etc - possible or not, had something like that happened there would be complaints galore over a glitch that was clearly not intended. Nothing to complain about in the outcome IMO.

Lap it up.

I experienced something that fits into your experiences as well. I barely had any brands central cars prior to using the glitch. I started receiving some gift cars like the Mustang Gr.4, Toyota 86, Clio ‘15, the new ‘23 Z, several safety cars etc. But I noticed the same cars kept coming back quite often, so I now have several copies from these cars, this is while I still have a ton of cars that I didn’t get yet (in the same car class range). So I can say from my experience there seems to be a high chance to get a roulette car for a car you already own.

Anyway I now have 403 Honda NSX Gr.B cars and between 29-45 copies of every engine. Don’t know how many cars and credits I received, didn’t keep track of it.

Still it’s such a pity that glitches like this need to be the way to have some darn fun in this game‘s pathetic economy. Why on earth can’t they just make ANY race worth doing from a game economy perspective. And why on earth do engines and special upgrade parts (or roulette tickets in general) have to be so rare?

Screw PD, seriously. What a pathetic brain dead company.

Yourself, and anyone you play against in multiplayer. No more replies, those who cheated know what they've done. It's just not for me, Myself and many others want all my records, golds, podiums etc to come from 100% hard work to earn that car and tune, not cheesing it

It seems my post on the relevant video has also been deleted. I had wrote, 'That's what happens when you give players everything, a free for all'. It is now missing from my list of posts, but you knew that didn't you ;)
Anywho I'd expect dishonesty from from someone abusing an unintended exploit. Peace!
I'm trying to understand something here, are you saying that navigating the menu is cheating? And is there any evidence that the engine swapped truck that you speak of wasn't created before the glitch?

What is the benefit of PDI putting out a patch that fixes this and adds nothing favourable to the gamer when they could have just fixedcrge glitch with their next content update? They should think about why many people spent 20-40 hours repeating the glitch.

Edit:GT7 is the real glitch exploiter stimulater. We go from one glitch to another just so we can enjoy the content of the game before our gran kids have gran kids. That says a lot about PDI's inability to make a good game

This was great whilst it lasted. It was just enough time to basically fix the game. Feel bad for all the folks that didn’t know about it.

I wasn’t too bothered about the credits or free cars although it’ll be nice to finally buy the 20 million McLaren F1 the next time it rotates into the LCD.

I’m super pleased with the 4 star hauls like stage 5 weight reductions, ultra high rpm turbos, bore ups, carbon shafts and titanium pistons as well as the engine swaps.

I’ve ended up with a few absolute beast machines where I could slap on 2 or 3 upgrades not for sale in the tuning shop. I’ve got a monster Nismo GTR, Veyron, NSX, GTS and Supra 17.

Hopefully the ability to sell cars comes soon!

Ah I see what you're doing here. You've convinced yourself wasting valuable time grinding a poorly thought out game is an achievement and hard work. No one cares about your amazing achievement. You may say "I played for hours and hours to get a 787 engind swap whilst you cheated by getting repeated tickets " , while I would say "ha I got the 787 engine swap plus millions using repeated tickets while you made yourself believe you achieved something no adult gives a flying crap about". Theres only one mug in this story. Most people worked hard to buy the game, real work. Not me though, I'm not willing to give PDI any of my money since GT6, I got GTS and GT7 for free. People blindly buying GT is why GT7 still has age old issues,

That's a negative. If you mess up, just do either menu until you get the reward ticket and go from there, no need to restart the game.
I had tried that. Once I got out of sync, going back and forth would produce nothing. Maybe I didn't do it long enough, but a restart reset everything.

Moot point now

Earlier in this thread I predicted that I would most likely be set for life by the time this glitch is patched out. However this turns out to be far from the truth.

I would estimate that I have earned just over 100m from this glitch, plus another ~50 gift cars added to my Pokedex free of charge. My current balance is 67,627,995 Cr., which is barely enough to buy all the remaining 89 cars from Brand Central (total cost: 66,817,000 Cr.). Many of these are Gr.1/Gr.X/VGT cars costing 1m each, while the cheapest one is the roadgoing BMW M4 at 120k.

However this does not include the cars I'm still missing from the LCD, most notably the McLaren F1 which on its own is going to cost 20m. And even if I had accumulated just enough to buy all of those as well I would still have nothing left for tuning parts.

So yeah, I would definitely have prefered the fix to this glitch to come a little bit later, though I'm grateful nonetheless. If anything, the fact that I had my PS4 exploit it for days on end and still don't have enough money to buy all the cars goes to show what ridiculous of a task it would be to acquire a full collection via natural gameplay.

Agreed. I had no idea how to do this in the beginning, and now that it's over I'm a master at the script and what it needs, etc. I could have earned 200M for sure, but I ended up with about $110M and over 100 cars.

Still, the big McLaren and Ferrari GTO's are going to set me back 40M, and there are lots of other 1M cars I want as well. The glitch helped for sure, but it wasn't a real game changer.

Agreed. Just a long way of saying "To buy all the cars costs Cr 445 M and I got 100 M from the glitch. "

It's clear from this exercise that no human would ever achieve that without massive grinding or use of an exploit.

Even after the" rebalance", the economy is still not where it should be. Time Trial prizes are another step in the right direction, but it still needs more.

CE helped a lot, but to be quite honest, they are much more difficult to gold than I had anticipated (I can do it but it feels like work), so for most the payouts still aren't near the level of the car costs overall. I think even if you gold every race on the game + gold all the CE's it's still not nearly enough to buy all the cars.

Last night, before the patch, I went and got 2 last extra menu tickets but didn’t open them. Curious to see if they’re still there in my gift box when I log on after work today.

Agree 100%... we shouldn't have to glitch a roulette system for engine swaps, it defies logic they're hidden behind such a terrible game design.

Hell, it's like they called in some guy specialising in FOMO gameplay to design ALL the unlocks, certainly no car enthusiast gave the go ahead for engine swops to be hidden behind such a daft system.

I didn’t take advantage of the glitch… I found out about it too late which was last week… but even then I did it for an hour at most because it was just to tedious and frustrating with the weak prizes lol…I did get the$500,000 twice and $1,000,000 once, a few cars and like 50 engines…I’m content doing the afk script… so far got 39 million and only missing 2 legend cars which I have the money for Barker Tourer and the Shelby cobra coupe which is 32 million… I have to buy the cars in brand central and so far I own half so buying cars there shouldn’t be a problem…

And everyone now has the fastest, most experience cars to race with thanks to the roulette glitch.

You've received considerable push back from the people on this forum. Ignoring all the emotionally charged accusations (and assuming typo "experience cars" is meant to be "expensive cars".... Is it true that the most expensive cars are the fastest?

As I recall, most of the Cr 20M cars are horrible old things.

I think if you were to tally all the meta cars from all the Sport races over the last few years the total would be less than 20 cars in total (Gr1 Toyota/Audi, Gr2 Moutoul GTR, Gr3 Supra/C7/Vantage, Gr4 TT/Sirocco/WRX/Megane/Viper.... ETC) and all these cars are Cr 1M or less.

What IS clear is that the fastest car in the game is the Tomahawk X, which is Cr 1M.

Everyone can easily buy the "fastest car" for any particular online race, so what's the issue with giving them loads of money to buy silly old cars that are nice to look at?

The bigger issue is cheating to get the best cars with unlimited money. Says a lot about a persons character to exploit things in general life. Have fun!
Thank you, I will!

Don't get me wrong here, I am not criticising you at all but what are you going to do with all those engines? I stopped when I had 10 3UZ and about 29 LS7s. I figured I had a lifetime supply at that ;-)

Before you say "sell them" we have never been able to sell any gift cars etc. in GT games. And even if you could what would you do with the money? Buy more cars? Most of the cars I have I don't drive anyway.
