Fairlazy Z33 - 316hp 1480kg - 442 PP (bone stock)
Supra 3.0 GT - 347hp 1239kg - 443PP
Holden Commodore - 324hp 1658kg - 444 PP (bone stock)
Holden Monaro CV8 - 325hp - 1658kg - 441 PP (bone stock) (wtf about it and the Commodore?)
M3 - 337hp 1570kg - 451PP (almost the same as the holdens, but lighter and more powerful)

I just don't know, but it looks like this isn't looking very good...

Bear in mind the PP includes handling and acceleration plus top speed.

The game will not load for me after installing this update. Anybody else have this problem? Hits the GT5 splash screen, then goes to a black screen and just sits. Game file corrupt AGAIN?!

same thing here, updated, installed, got the splash screen and then its just hanging out on a black screen for about 15 minutes now.

anybody else?

Has anyone else noticed that the description for Corvette Convertible (C1) '54 is wrong. The description is actually for the Chevy SSR truck.

This was not fixed in the update. Wonder how we can bring this to Polyphony's attention.

Oh and, as some others have noted, I would swear that the shadows look better. I don't have the ability to screengrab to confirm.

nope ...all is working perfectly.... I've had my PS3 on for 8 days now! I know...sad b**tard

I had this same problem. I finally got it to work by deleting my GT5 install data. After the deletion and the re-installation of the updates I got my game to load correctly. I have not re-installed the game data and checked if it works though =/

Yay for in-race TSC adjustment! (I like to use it for launch only)
Haven't started the update yet but I guess it'll take half a day like the last one did with my internet connection!

Shadows, dust, smoke, all like they should have been upon first release. Confirmed. Watching B spec is actually pretty fun with all of the changes to this and the AI.

are you saying that the shadows and smoke are fixed now? please conifirm this one for me m8!

You're going to think I'm crazy but I swear the music is fancier now when you acquire a new car.

Was it the BMW M5 that had selectable engine output in the I-Drive computer? Errr... Yes, yes it was. Of course not all cars have that, but hey, how many old cars have traction control and ABS?

Exactly! How many old cars running on carburators, AND being able to install a sport electronic chip? Haha still the same error.. ABS system on a old car equipped with rear drums, amazing!

only took 10 minutes here.... (700kbs)

this is fron 0-35 back to 0 MPH. after about half a second or so and without slamming on the brakes, this comes out from the car. I barely ran the car over half a mile.

I'm stuck at work, saw this post as well as yours. I'm anxious as hell to see if this smoke is the real deal. Judging from the pic it looks to be!

**Edit: It would be nice to see a shot of a burnout or a drift to see how the smoke looks against the rest of the car.

Bear in mind the PP includes handling and acceleration plus top speed.

Handling can be modified with suspension tweaks. Would it mean a good setup raise my PP? How would the game define what is a good setup? I, for example, get better times with a slightly taill happy car, while my brother gets better times with a more balanced setup

Acceleration is defined by horsepower and weight, in this criterium the Supra should greatly surpass the Z33, that doesn't happen.

Top speed can also be tweaked at the gear ratios, at the expense of acceleration...

I really hope the PP system is recognizing the Holdens are more balanced than the M3 from factory...

I'm so happy to see that improvements, now we just need the ability to save in endurances races and championships and the replay mode forward and rewind and the game will be completed (ohh... and DLC related to cars and tracks) 👍

I think matchmaking needs to be added before we can say the game's finally completed ...

I just did a couple PP system tests between a Mclaren MP4-12c and a 09 GTR v spec. Both dialed in very well. (MP4 6:20's around nord., GTR 6:10's around nord)

Both set to 677pp and the GTR needed to drop 25hp to make the limit (675GTR, 700mp4). Around Nur GP/D the MP4 is doing Low 1:25s, the GTR is in the 1:23's with 1:22's possible.

I was really hoping this PP system would curb the whole everybody using the GTR because it's 'the best' fad.. But no, the balance issue is still very evident. Every sob driver that doesn't know how to tune or drive will choose to use this cheese car. The cars that should compete or beat the GTR will be forced to do so with a higher PP rating, considering all things equal (Driver, track, etc).

Sigh..

Another change:

When purchasing mods from the tuning shop, it flips through the HP increase and PP increase... the transition I find is quite annoying and messes with my sight a bit as it lags... anyone else find this annoying? There should be 2 separate boxes for this info.

Update or no update I loved GT5 but this update has put a giant grin on my face again like the day I received my collectors edition.

hell yeah smoke is very important!i'm also @ work cant wait to get back home and see for myself!

I believe the wear time is different now in A spec between soft and hard race tires. It took me 1:30 to wear down my rear tires in a continuous donut with race hards, and 45 seconds with race softs. :D

HN7
It has been improved. Car shadow isn't as blocky anymore. Trees and object shadow is still the same. Smoke effect is a lot better (smoother on cars)

In-car shadows may have SLIGHTLY been updated. But they aren't that great. It still looks horrible when you don a donut and have a cloud of smoke surrounding your car, and the edges of the car are all pixelated.
