Anyone notice the update means the Tomahawk Batmobile is no longer licensed to kill in the Tokyo Expressway GT600 event? Before the update, even grinding out 825k credits every 18 minutes seemed a high price in time to pay to acquire all the cars, now it is going to just be more of a grind unless someone finds a new "trick".

If you take a gr 2 car to the 800PP race on Sardegna you get 795k in 25 minutes.
you just need to detune it a little and take hard tyres.

You can take the same car and do the 1 hour race at Spa for 1,5M

Much more fun than doing anything with the Tomahawk.

That’s my go to race now too. Excellent race and track. I find the McLaren F1 the most fun around there but the Japanese GT500 are good too. The Aero they have makes them a bit OP for the race though I thought.
Track reminds me of the Southern circuit on the Isle of Man.

Exactly. People were so obsessed with Tomahawk glitch that they forget that we actually have decent ways to earn credtis without glitching the game.

We knew they were looking to fix the PP bug for a while now, it's no surprise they finally did. There was plenty of time to get to 100mil in the bank and never have to grind again in the game.

Tomahawk still ended up being my most driven car, currently 6264 miles thanks to the above so I think it will be awhile before any other car tops it (not counting high mileage used cars) but all are under the Tomahawk anyway.

I've managed to acquire 115m of cars but there is still 320m to go ... so I don't understand the comment of never having to grind again.
In the timeframe the bug was not fixed, one could have easily bought almost every single car that has been available to purchase and have 100 mil saved. The main point I'm making is that we knew it was getting fixed sooner rather than later, there's not much else to say.

I did the Tokyo 600pp race using the Aston Martin VGT with ease. No pit stops, tiny bit of fuel management but mostly fuel on 1, with power tune and SH tyres. 15 seconds ahead at the end down from 60s because of mistakes.

When you say "easily", you mean buying the game the day it came out, knowing about the Tomahawk PP "cheat" same day and then grinding 2.5 hours a day for the past 83 days straight? Hmmmm, you clearly have a lot more spare time if that is easy.

did you recommend any gr.2 type car?
I fancy the Lexus SC430 GT500 but it's under 760PP...

no reason for me to even play this game... I used the tomahawk to try and acquire all the overpriced cars just to have in the collection... but now whats the point when you cant even use those cars I acquired in a race unless its a custom race...the grind is now even more tougher smh

The Honda NSX GT500 is a good choice, it just needs racing hard tyres and can do the Sardegna in 1-stop with some fuel map changes
could you be more specific?
i can't run the track under 1:43 and those Gr.3 ahead leave me with more than 3" each lap..
My NSX is 799PP with midle tune Turbo and power restriction.

The NSX with hard tyres (no turbo no power restriction) can run 7 laps in fuel map 3 if I remember correctly without any tweaking and thus only one pit stop. There isn't any special insight, it's just faster than everything.
I use the gr.3 BRZ (two pit stop, end of laps 5 and 10, lap 1, 6, 11 at fuel map 5, the rest fuel map 4) and its an easy race. Im talking about normal difficulty and I am at best a mediocre player.

but you agree that others cars are faster than you? Because it is the case for me, even in straight lines.
Maybe they do 2 or 3 stops?

The Sardegna 800PP was my grind race before I discovered the Tomahawk and I used the Lambo VGT tuned down. Just did it in a Gr.2 car - 727,500 points, took me 26 mins but made quite a few mistakes. I guess it just means it will take me 66 hours longer to complete the game - a month, and I agree it is more fun than just seeing how many times you can lap the field in the Tomahawk.

I only managed just over 5k miles but only learnt of this glitch 3 weeks ago. I think it has earnt a rest and another oil change.

I don't think anyone was obsessed, I am sure most people eventually look to find car/race combinations that give the most bang for buck to rack up credits fast, along with other races they do for pleasure/the challenge.

I admit the self-imposed challenge of finishing the Tokyo Expressway in under 18 mins was starting to wane but I was also doing Ferrari Cup around Lago Maggiore in 458 Italia GT3 and the Dirt Champion races. If anything the Tomahawk helped me transition to manual gears because that glitched box could be impossible to drive in auto mode around hairpins.

I wouldnt call it a fix, but a band aid: transmission settings no longer account into PP, but they also dont show up in the acceleration values anymore. Though I couldnt care less about the performance of the car in question, the issue comes with how much money PD seemed have to intented to be made on average, which is why the race payout per time is closely identical and which is why (also why) cars have the cost they have. So by allowing to persist for this long, the average income was higher than expected and this leads to higher prices (if they did at all) Also couldnt care about it anyway, the game revolves around driving, and everything else is just a result of this. Just remember to have fun.

That's a great assumption, that everyone has a ton of time to just grind in Gran Turismo. And the "never have to grind again" is an absolute lie. You can't buy all the cars at will, as they have variable availability (invite only, UCD and Legendary cars). Then you have to take into account the tuning costs for each car, which on average, for road cars, must be somewhere around 300k. Add to that, that almost every road car gets parts that can't be reverted back to stock form, without paying a lot for a new engine (widebody can't be reverted at all), this makes people like me, having to buy 2 of each car, maybe even 3, if I want to make a top speed build without the widebody.

In previews games, you could get a lot more money, faster, and the game didn't have as many super expensive cars in it.

To fix the bug, one would think that they would come up with a proper way to earn Cr. Maybe give players more variety of races that pay well, which is probably unthinkable. It's not just about how much money you get per hour, it's how much fun you can have while grinding. Setting custom races, should give a decent amount of Cr. an hour, even if it's not the ideal amount, like the 3 million or so possible with the glitched Tomahawk, 1 to 2 million an hour, would be decent. Right now, people will still rely on a small number of events to get a decent Cr. flow, which takes away a lot of the fun.
