So, if somebody wants review.... I can paste here my answer in topic at Steam forum named "Thanks to Kylotonn and Bigben". In first words I answer to the guy from the title post, but its not the matter. So:

My time to tell a word. I dont agree that its "not perfect game". For me its simply a dream game. In every important aspects its exellent and exceed any expectations. From the one hand, nothing strange: looks like, many basic features here are based on my critical notes. which I proposed in WRC 7 review named "Make the game unplyable again". I sent link to this review to Bigben office, and recieved answer from there. So, for example, the idea of track generator with road net presented there. But, generally, we have also:

1.Realistic physics. May be, driving itself dont produce for me such pleasure, as I have in Seb Loeb Rally, but in combination with dynamics of the game it looks absolutly ideally. Car weight and, as a result, grip, was reduced, as well as engine force, and ideal balance was found.

Suspension work enforce impression, it also included into model very good. Unfortunately, just this realistic physics scare away dirtists. They get accustomed to railway, and now they cannot fly, only creep. And they name good games "arcade" just for realistic physics, while their railway exercises are "simulation". Something more absurdic impossible to be invented. Its Codemasters' guilt, and, I hope, for the ends The God will punish them for it.

2.The worlds are simply amazing. New graphycs level achieved, and now you must not force yourself to eat uneatable; real feeling of live world we have. For me its absolutly clear, that any codemasters game is much worse. Dirt 4 is simply shameful trash in comparison with it. They have excuse for themselves - track generator, but now we see really good track generator, not so annoying, wich dont spoil the picture.

And tracks are so interesting, multivarious, challenging - and in the same time they now dont consist of traps, with this physics they allow fast moving 10 minutes and more without crashes. Such tracks are ideal also, nothing better to invent.

Also environment.... I can tell, that Russia looks very, very authentic, natural! Many details are very accurate and expressive. Looks like, for other locations the same is true. Really great!

3. Gameplay became much more friendly. No so many sensless penalties for cutting, and most punishments only for your real fault. Now you dont feel yourself as somewhat prisoner, it was what I demanded and its generally done.

4.Every disciplines are great! Buggy - best ever, hill climb - the same! Rallycross also, even gimkhana not bad. True feelings anywhere! Great tracks!...

Thats all absolutly perfect. But, on the other hand, I simply havent some expectations. Didnt believe to this guys, because although I liked WRC 5 very much, after that they made worse - I thought they will continue with it. So, I was wrong! They can, and they did! It really delight.

Of course, some problems present. They deal mainly with gameplay. I described it in special topics: self-destroying carreer regime, sometimes idiotic penalties in finish gates, now - fantastically stupid amd foul railway botes in online challenges. But these problems are not critical, and I hope they will be solved for the ends - now its easy.

I hope also, that the community will gradually increasy, more and more people will find exellent feelings of realistic and beautiful game. Release date not so lucky - people gone to forza horizon... but I believe, that such grat achievements will not be wasted. The succes must come for the ends!

So, thanks for the great game, continue with the same!

And a bit of gameplay:

Welcome to my channel with dozens of multivarious scenes from this game!

AND WELCOME TO THE GAME ITSELF!

Started playing this again after a month or so, and as @Scaff so well often puts in his videos, I’ve got a soft spot for this game even through the annoying bits. Still a fun drive.

Been waiting for a sale as I am eager to pick it up. It's 50% in UK PS Store but still full price in USA.

Just a few more thoughts:

All of the driving disciplines are fun, but Hillclimb is my favorite.

Buggies are kind of Arcady, but it’s still a good time.

Didn’t think I would like Extreme-Khama but I do.

Rallycross is well done, though we really need a spotter.

After playing so many different Rally games it took me some time to warm up to Rally mode. It has good locations, varied layouts, times, and conditions.

If you're playing with a controller that's all well and good but I personally find it a bloody nuisance being a wheel user to have to grab and fire up a PS4 DS controller just to be able to press the Options button on it to launch or progress to the game and not being able to press the Options button on the wheel to so do....especially when you have previously already assigned the wheel as your controller. This is a 2018 released game, not 2000. Surely they could have done better in this regard when the wheel is stated as a compatible wheel.

I don’t have this problem using a T300.

Edit:

Can’t speak for G29 users, though if my memory serves there’s an ‘Options’ button. Shame it doesn’t work.

To be honest, I don't think I have played this game since Horizon 4 came out. I will say it had enough content to keep me occupied for about 3 weeks, so it fulfilled the purpose I intended to buy it for.

What I am worried about it how Kylotonn handle post-release support. @Scaff points out how weak the latest release has been and the company are rumoured to be working on a Test Drive Unlimited sequel. Every other open-world racing game has superior post-release support so Kylotonn really need to step their game up.

What's more, the TDU franchise can be extremely lucrative if done right. There is a sizeable audience who have fond memories of the series and it is the sort of game that popular YouTube content creators are likely to cover, giving it more publicity.

On the topic of the annoying menu music that most everyone has turned off, I would have just preferred the music they used in the car video teasers they showed up to the release.

So I've noticed that the new liverys are not a free part of the upgrade, but chargeable, even if you have the (stupidly expensive) season pass.

Seems I was right, the dev does want to turn this into a car crash of a release.

Really dont know why theyve done this... A season pass with no dlc in sight, no details beyond "4 cars" and now this crap which should AT LEAST be free to people who brought the season pass.

Hate to say it but I think theyve let ego get in the way. So now they beleive they can treat customers like crap. Very bad news about TDU3 id rather ubisoft make it, these guys really dont seem to have a clue anymore.

The Crew 2 isn't fairing that well under Ubisoft's control, but it is arguably better than what's been displayed with V-Rally 4's post-release support so far.

Literally forgot about Crew2, damn.... Are they even updating it anymore? Im still playing Crew1 and thats still great, felt like what TDU3 should be, just hope that game wont be online only.

The Crew 2 is still receiving 2 monthly car drops, but it is still sorely lacking in any end game and any motive to play due to the grinding mechanics. As with the first game, I do think it has years of support left in it, but it is likely Ubisoft will put a price tag on anything that makes the game worth picking up again (According to the roadmap, all content added in the first year is free.)

The Switch version finally got a release date, December 13. Absolutely no footage has been released so I'm a bit worried it could be a total mess.

Still though, happy to be a guinea pig after how much I enjoyed WRC 7.

I love WRC7, the problem with VRally 4 is that is just not as polished, nor does it play as well as WRC7.

It's a real missed opportunity for me.

Having seen what everyone is saying I do think that it’ll probably end up being a bust but I’ll give it a go at the very least, in the hope it is half decent as a portable rally racer.

Has anyone won a championship in a car not considered to be in the top tier? Like is it actually possible to win the Rally Championship in a fully upgraded Fulvia or Hill Climb in the M3?

Just wondering if I’m wasting my credits and time and should save up for the top cars. Right now it doesn’t seem possible.

I've pretty much abandoned the career side and just played around with the free run side, as the career is horrendously unbalanced.

Played this game the other day, and it was basically unplayable again. After a few good sessions of getting the hang of decent FFB on the Rally events out of my T300, the FFB went back to vague, limp, laggy, with no sense of any direction. Same car, same events. No changes to the default wheel settings.

Sometimes I think it’s the wheel FFB fading, but it happens as soon as I start the game. And after regularly playing other games like WRC7 and D4 I’m convinced it’s not the wheel.

Also, the clutch doesn’t actually function properly. I noticed you can simply shift from gear to gear without even using it. Think of it as speed shifting.

This game is really starting to fade from my regular play list which is unfortunate..

I’ve got no idea what it contains, but there has been an update, 1.07

I tried to play this again yesterday and increased the FFB setting, which improved the overall drivability (see my previous post) but this resulted in my wheel shutting off probably in a self preservation attempt. Not good.

I don’t care for heavy arm-wrestle FFB strength, so it seems strange the wheel would shut off which a moderate setting increase. Again, no problems in other games except occasionally in PC2.

The update adds the Ford GT and some minor bugfixes.

Still waiting for a sale...

It’s definitely worth it for a discount. Heck, I should just wait and buy games after the prices reduce. I usually have more fun with them and don’t have any expectations. Recently picked up a cheap digital copy of WRC6 and like it.

Games I could have waited for? GTS (easily, and definitely not the limited edition steelbook case), VR4, Gravel.

Games I got cheap I like? DR, D4, SLRE, WRC6.

Games I got full price I like? Dakar 18, though I could have waited for a sale. WRC7.

Future games I will wait for a price reduction? DR2 believe it or not. No rush on this one for me.

PC2 is sort of in the middle, bought it slightly cheaper but I don’t play it that much.

PC1 is the only PS4 game I bought cheap that I couldn’t get into.

The only upcoming game I foresee paying full price would be WRC8 or whatever the next WRC game will be. Of course it depends on who’s producing it.

I've just got VR4 and so far only played it for a couple of hours, mainly driving the MK1 Escort. Far too early to tell but so far I'm liking it. The handling feels similar to WRC7 but the steering very loose, perhaps it's the car I'm driving. I had to reduce the steering sensitivity to minimum as I was struggling to keep the car in a straight line.
Not tried any other categories yet.
Had to turn the rap music off as I can't stand it.

@cjr3559 how does WRC6 compare to 7 ? It's on sale at the moment on the European store. Might get it...
