May I present you the VALTRA T234!
A lot of people would not really appreciate this suggestion but after all it's my suggestion and I really want a tractor like these and the other one in GT7.
Why? It's like a car a challenge to drive a tractor ... have drive many hours in my grandpa and fathers tractor. The comparison will be pointless since the one I drove could barely reach 50 km/h but the torque is awesome and braking takes a few hundred meters but the feeling is priceless!
Valtra tractors, born in Finland in 1951, are famous for their performance in demanding conditions. The new world record was set by the brand new T Series which has undergone over 40,000 hours of testing in all conditions, both in the field and lab, in the Nordic cold and Southern heat. Durability, high performance and driver comfort are amongst the most important features of the new T Series, sales of which commenced in November 2014.
Nokia Tyres developed and manufactured the world’s first winter tyre for the winter of 1934. Two years later, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta was born in the Nordic winter; it is already a legend wherever there are true winter conditions.
Drivng fast in a machine that’s not really designed to do so can be scary hilarious.
But rally icon Juha Kankkunen has set a world speed record driving a Valtra T234 tractor with 186 kW/1000 Nm at 130.165 km/h in sub-zero winter conditions on on Nokian TRI Hakkpeliitta winter tires.
The previous record was 121 km/h set by a home-modified tractor in Russia, whereas this Valtra T234 (made in Finland) is, more or less, a production model.
The world record attempt took place back in February and was a joint effort between tractor maker Valtra and tyre company Nokian which wanted to promote its winter tyre for tractors, the Nokian (and take a breath) Hakkapeliitta TRI which, according to the guff, is “designed for single purpose: to give you all the grip, control and efficiency you need for demanding winter contracting”.
Kankkunen piloted the tractor to the world record speed on a snow and ice covered runway in Finland, the runway was 2.3 kilometres long (at a closed airport in northern Finland), and required Kankkunen to enter the runway out of a curve to have enough room to hit the world record speed with a 50-metre speed trap in the centre of the strip.
The Guinness World Records organisation defines specific rules for fastest tractor. As the time for the tractor to travel through the 50-metre speed trap. The tractor took a flying start and speed is measured in both directions. The world record is an average of the two measurements.
