One MC12 went to Houston, and one came here to Boardwalk. The Boardwalk show is this Saturday, so I'll ask if our MC12 was the one Doug saw.

Interestingly aside from me and one other guy in the F-chat Atlanta Spotters' Thread, no one else has ever reported seeing that MC12 there. Reportedly it went to Florida leading to speculation that it was Preston Henn's, but the guy who posted in this thread the other day seemed to have debunked that. No one knows anything about the whereabouts of this car or who owns it, I guess.

You might want to check DYSAGT Doug, as I may just have trumped even this sighting. :D

Depends upon what you considered trumped. The Koenigsegg is rare, but in the US, the MC12 is even rarer due to being illegal on the streets.

if it's illegal that's a tough call! It would've been modified to BE legal in the states I presume. In that case it's a better spot than I thought. Anyway, to stop hijacking his thread, I guess we can discuss this in the thread, unless we dont want to..

The ones that are legal aren't so much as modified, but just tweaked by a company in the north.

Hard to say what's a better spot. When we're talking this crazy I usually let them all even out, and I include the Veyron, Enzo, and Daytona Spider I've seen in that count. When we get up to Koenigseggs, Veyrons, etc. the quality of the spot is, in my view, determined by the circumstances, which is exactly why the MC12 did not win my personal "Car Sighting of the Year" last year - because the Veyron was being driven by Ralph Lauren. Who I spoke to. Apart that the MC12 is the better spot but you just can't discount meeting Ralph Lauren. Same deal about the Enzo... I've been looking for that car for two years... if I saw a Zonda tomorrow I'd probably still give the Enzo the nod just based on that. And since your Koenigsegg was in valet and closely parked next to cars making a great photo impossible...

Hell I don't care. I try not to compare my spots to others' (it's inevitable though). I just love seeing them. And as i said in the other thread... congratulations on the spot... it's unbelievable. :)

That day I saw 14% of all MC12s in the USA... and I saw one car. Nuts.

Oh it's definitely still here in Atlanta...this was at the ferrari dealership earlier today. Also to note is the f430 scuderia in the very front.

I never did say anything to you about this spot. Congratulations on seeing such a rare vehicle. 👍 Great story on getting to see the car and then later seeing it the same day.

Thanks Vash!

BTW an update here... it was revealed yesterday that the MC12 is on private plates in Georgia and it looks like it'll remain an Atlanta fixture! I hope I see it again!

I work at a car museum where they have an MC12. Really impressive car, inside and out. I would choose it over the Enzo any day. The owner is the president of the museum. From what I have heard, there are about 12 MC12's total in the USA. The MC12 was not even originally planned to be sold in the US, but I THINK that either the owner of the car or his father, or a close friend of theirs, managed to persuade the Maserati people to sell it here.
