Gran Turismo 2-Get Into It

Nobody believed me that it was called this

The Internet: The Game-Rainbow Tylenol overload!

I think I've made my point.

If were talking about music made for a game then these (If you don't like DUBSTEP/Electronic you wont like these)

and real world music in the same game (Saints Row 3)

The best video game soundtrack I think I've ever heard would be a tie between GT2 and Secret Weapons Over Normandy. SWON is a WWII flyer (I think it came out in the early 2000s), and the musical score for that game is absolutely phenomenal. It's all orchestral, but it has such depth and power - it's perfect for flying your missions and makes the game so much better than it already is.

Even today I still listen to the soundtrack all by itself because it's stood the test of time that well.

Everytime I hear a NFS HP2 Soundtrack ,Nostaliga All over.

While I agree ,there are some games Like NFS HP2 ,Ridge racer IV and the latest Ace Combat that Fall in a Hall of Fame category (GT1 as well)

I wish one day someone will make a Thread to see which Games have the best soundtracks (abit like the Music Thread of Artisits)

Owning the special edition Orchestra CD I now understand why LoZ isn't full of orchestrated pieces: it would be too epic.

Tell me you wouldn't just sit back and let the music play. :P

...I'm literally about to drool thinking what they'll achieve with the Wii U.

This. :D

I apologize if this post is long/has lots of videos. :indiff:

GT2:

(One of my absolute favourites)

hKVn6sWlNUI

(An awesome racing track which I think you guys in the states missed out)
(Another awesome racing track from the PAL version)

Now non-GT (I could post several from GT3 and 4 but that's for another time). The original Spyro trilogy was one of my favourite childhood series and I still believe the music by Stewart Copeland is high up in the best game music I have ever heard, especially Spyro 1. The bass, treble and lead guitar use just have a high standard that has just stuck from my childhood. If you have a good audio setup this sounds very nice for its time. Here are a few of my favourite examples:

(Horrible quality, it's a shame as this is one of the best)

There is another game called Croc: Legend of the Gobbos which also has some amazing music from the PS1 era, however I think I have cluttered up this page enough. I may post more later. :sly:

I just noticed the tracks are predominantly done with electric guitars along with the rest of a rock band, pretty cool how they got all sorts of different moods generated with each one 👍

I did a search, three times actually, and to my surprise it didn't pop anything up. So which game do you think had the best soundtrack? To me I think it would be Halo 3. Taking the Menu music as an example really sets the mood for how the game is supposed to start out. The Covenant have found Earth, all is lost, blah blah blah, people who've played it know the deal! Here's my example.

So what game do you guys think has the best soundtrack? Go ahead and post examples to help us too!

I've recently been playing the Final Fantasy games from the PS1 era (for the first time), have to say they have fantastic music. Name spoilers, I guess :
