Visible lowering?

I wonder in GT5 will we visibly see a car being lower once we have applied suspension changes. I remember in previous games (GT1, GT2 + GT3?) you could see the wheels in the arches and sills closer to the deck.

Yea GT4 was the same, it was fun slamming cars out and giving them huge camber!

Just for looks, or maybe im thinking of GT3?

Either way, im sure it will be apparent in gt5, along with a whole load of new visual customisation options 👍

It's in GT5P too (visual), just with the quick tune it seems that many cars don't go to the extremes.

especially the 07 Subaru Impreza. If you lower it to -45/-45 and you do a lap, then watch the replay, it doesnt look that much different as when its stock.

Where as for example the M3 Coupe, when you max lower it, you can see the different ride high very well!

Am I the only one who thinks this thread is completely pointless? You could see visible lowering in GT4 and GT5:P, why on Earth would anyone think it might be different?:odd:

this is what i love about gran turismo, i think remembering back the 206 RC was one of the best cars to slam! Wheels would tuck up inside the arches.

And its also what bugs me on Forza, you lower the car and it looks great but as soon as you leave the tuning section it looks raised again, its pathetic.

Even though slamming a car does nothing for handling (in most cases) it looks great.

hahaha where did you get that idea from?

Lowering the ride height of a car has a very big effect on the cars handling! When you lower the ride height, you lower the center of mass = much more precise handling.

And enlighten me (in most cases).

I said slamming not lowering.

Try reading, is that enough enlightenment?

When you slam a car it actually has a negative affect on the cars handling, maybe you didnt know but you can lower a car too much. Run along now....

I think he means "Slamming" the car (car is pretty much on the bump stops) not lowering, which is fine for the centre of gravity but you have no suspension travel and the car bottoms out on bumps and curbs. Lowering is good but slamming usually isn't, as you know there is a sweet spot denpending on where you tune for.

*EDIT answered already.

Well english is not his first language

I'm sure he does, especially considering he races cars proffessionally...

well in this case i apologize, i thought slamming meant lowering in a slang way or something.whatever no need for you to panic just cause i missunderstood something

Thanks Jay V :)

i know what you meant bro. My friends and i use the word slamming all the time when talking about cars with low stance. 👍

I always lower my cars; but not to the point they go through the outer-skin of the car.. that was annoying (in photomode)

Sometimes I build cars in GT4 for fun and I always lower em and sometimes put mad camber on them. My Mk1 Golf was mental lol.
I found myself always building Old school japanese Drift car's.... like the nissan bluebird.:sly:

I hope when you are in TUNE, you see your car.. So if you lower it, you see it LIVE.

No hard feelings, As above i only replied in the same manner you did.

you can see it in gt5p but in the menu where you can look the car in background the suspension remain stock...hope they will fix it in full release

I can remember the Chrysler 300 c in GT4. It's ride height was too big, so I changed it to a few cm from the ground and it became a wonderful car!

in GT4 who remembers that oldsmibile or buick "lowrider" style whip, slam that, buy all options, suit it with the rare gold 144 spokes for that west coast muscle

yeah i agree i really hope you will be able to slam the cars just for looks!! I notice that on some cars now u can do it, specially if u give it full on camber its slightly noticeable in replays, but hope to see it properly!!
