Autocar
The AMG Vision Gran Turismo runs a front-mounted, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine of unspecified size developing 577bhp together with 590lb ft of torque. With a virtual aluminium spaceframe body and weighing 1385kg, it has a power-to-weight ratio of 417bhp per tonne.
...with 590 ft lbsConcept car + Twin turbo V8 = only 577 hp?
It must be a 3.0-3.5L engine at most.
Which equates to 800 Nm of torque. A specific torque of 200 Nm/L is an attainable goal by production turbo gasoline engines; more is possible if they're really pushing it....with 590 ft lbs
According to Autocar. The AMG Vision GT is a twin turbo V8.
Well if you could pull away from the thinking that everyone is out to get you, you might have noticed I had no beef with your estimation, otherwise I would say so...you said "only 577hp", and I said " with 590 ft lbs"...in other words, even though the car may be a little hp weak it will still be fun due to the TQ. Loosen up guy...maybe a smiley at the end of that would have helpedWhich equates to 800 Nm of torque. A specific torque of 200 Nm/L is an attainable goal by production engines.
I stand by my 3.5-4.0 L estimation.
Via update, and free too like the other Vision GT cars. This car will be available in the game or via DLC ?
Fully agree, really liking it.I think this looks really great. It has enough concept bling without being silly looking and the exhaust outlets are amazing looking. The long bonnet with the cabin perched over the rear gives it such a dynamic look.
It should have a V8 as it would be a disappointment to not have a proper sound with this styling. Performance wise the drive-train from the SLS AMG Electric Drive would be super but it needs a sound like God clearing his throat.
The only weak point so far is the the wheels which look like an afterthought. Hopefully we can change them but I suspect we will not be able to.

Looks like a tacky random supercar out from a Terminator or Batman movie.
Every post in this thread should end with IMHO.No it doesn't.

Indeed. Though it's mentioned in the Spiegel article that its only going to be a "model" which leads me to assume it's not going to be functional. But it sports a F1 style cockpit and levers and buttons on the car's ceiling*gasp*. Still like it because it's not too serious looking and should feature some design elements from forthcoming SLS.As long as my german gestimate doesn’t fool me, it looks a serious business enough for Mercedes-Benz to display a 1:1 (working?) replica at this year L.A. Auto Show.
I think there's no need to justify anything here, if someone love it go ahead, the judgement here is 100% subjective. So you are free to love it if you want to.IMHO, it does not.
.... maybe a little bit. I think silver kinda pushed it over the edge. It could also be a special edition hotwheels car.
To it's defense, it would end up that that way since most scifi movie cars are "visions" of the future.
