8 Bit Racing Show Off Challenger for VRR Endurance Series
With a little under a week to go to the first round of the VRR Endurance Series sponsored by Tag Heuer, newcomers 8 Bit Racing have revealed their Aston Martin challenger to the series. A collaboration effort between the two drivers, CSSdk and OnE-JoKeR_, who themselves will be running in a VRR series for the first time, the car seems to have been inspired by racing art cars of the past.
Having been built and prepped in the UK by the renowned team at Prodrive, the cars were sent to the Nurburgring circuit in Germany for a filming day, where the team could finally get their own first look and drive at the Mobil 1 sponsored rides. This preceeded an official placement test that the VRR organisers had scheduled to nail down parity settings for the cars and to see which catagories the various drivers would end up in. As luck would have it, both CSSdk and Joker (as we shall refer to him because damn CAPS!) ended up in the same AM class, so not only will they be fighting for the team against all others, but it will be interesting to see if a little inter-team rivalry crops up.
After the completion of the placement tests the team and their gear all shipped out to Japan where the first round of the season will be taking place. The Suzuka circuit will play host to the Takata Grand Prix of Suzuka on Saturday 9th December.
With VRR allowing drivers to pick their own numbers and the first round not far away we got the thoughts and feelings of CSS and Joker as they relaxed and took in the sights that Japan had to offer.
"It's kind of nerve-wracking. I'm going into a series where there are some established drivers, and everything is run so professionally. I've been racing for a long time, but none of it was a long-term thing. When I got the call from CSS that he was going to enter a team into the full season, and did I want to come on board, my first reaction was to laugh in his face and say we'd probably get destroyed. However, after a little thinking I thought what the hell sure! Plus, I've had some livery experience in the past and was eager to create one on the Aston Martin. Placement tests went alright, so now I'm eager to see how things turn out in an actual race. I think within my class I will be mildly competitive, but so many things can change on the day. I'm not going to go out there and say I'm battling for the podium, if I can challenge close to that I'll consider this first season to be a success.
Oh the #24? Well, someone had already taken 26 which is my regular go to number, so this is a link to Jeff Gordon. Always loved that Du Pont Chevrolet, regardless of if he was running as the Rainbow Warrior or with the flames, so whenever 26 is taken I default back to my favourite NASCAR driver." -Joker

Going to go over race day procedure since things have changed. I'll try keeping everything in order of how it should be happening.
-Race lobbies will open at 3:50 p.m. Eastern U.S. time for all of the drivers to enter the room. Both @nascarfan1400 and myself will be advising everyone to read over this post to make sure they understand what is going to be happening before qualifying is started.
-Qualifying will start once all of the drivers have confirmed to the lobby hosts that they have read this post. Any questions can be asked on here or on our Discord server.
-Qualifying will be 30 minutes. Fuel and tire wear will be set to 1x so running as much as possible is going to be important. Once the thirty minute mark is reached, lobby hosts will signal everyone to finish their laps and part on the runoff outside turns 1 and 2 while the lobby host goes to screenshot the timing screens for the race reports. Once the qualifying times for everyone has been recorded, the lobby host will enter the track and correct their position on the leaderboard before starting the race.
-Due to issues with PD's starts, the starts will be done manually with a formation lap leading to a standing start. Formation lap speed will be 62 mph/100 kph. Everyone will be advised to give each other at least 5 car lengths of space during the formation lap.
-Once the field gets to the green, the pole sitter will line up on the 5th marked grid slot on track, which is on the left hand side. Everyone will lineup in their respective grid slots with 16th place lining up in grid slot #20. Race will be going green at 5:00:000 total time (5 minutes)
-Once the race has finished, everyone is encouraged to save the race replays. Lobby host will be saving a screenshot of the race results as well. Complaints and appeals must be brought forward by the Monday following a race.
Everyone is encouraged to add their lobby's host if they haven't already.
