I had a pretty impressive drive this weekend. Two 2nd place finishes and a 3rd, all of which were hotly contested. I recieved a couple nudges from people but it didn't put any massive dents in my positions. Polar's DC affected me in Race 1 because his car mopped me into the sand, but it wasn't his fault and **** happens that can't be avoided sometimes.

The fact that Sakery's going on about divebombs in race 3, is quite profound. Or was mine and Storm's view of your first racing lap hairpin of the charts, like your elevation?

Yeah but If you can´t make it to 1 then why drive dirty-ish to get there ??

Well the Sprint is a thing that has to be redone !!
Or
it should get heavy penalties afterwards if driver X d-bombs etc.

Well I tried to pass Mel 2nd last lap and got d-bombed by 3 (!!) drivers in one Turn (Turn 3).
=> That is the complete opposite of what this Series stands for.
And Storm your one of them.

Plus:
I have a little thing that I discovered:
Track-reentry.
The Turn before Back-straight a few people slightly overshot the exit and directly went on Track again. Well nothing happend in the end but it will if it is done that way in the future.

The feature races are superb, clean, hard and overall 👍 but the sprint is like Hells-Gates have opened.

I do have to add that I´m a hard opponent but always fair. I drove plenty of times side-by-side through the Turns and gave my opponents their needed space.
I even lift the Throttle if my front axle isn´t up front of the rear axle of the driver infront of me.

I have connection problems with Seth and lastweek with Damuemogirl (My connection is a average one; Way more upload speed than download).
If 2 drivers can´t see eachother they both have to rejoin to don´t screw the race for the others.
Because I think in Race 2 (Seth and I couldn´t see us) JoeTruck suffered from this (Turn 1 in one of the first laps pre pitstop I think).
Maybe clear the cache again and perform a router reset.
This can be done in less than ~5min so waiting for those drivers would be nice.

Note: The rant is a bit over the Top but the sprint was always a mess so I want to be heared :D

I see ITCC in Lancer's Signature. Does that mean he's coming back?

Also, I'll review the replays AND the options for Race 3.

In race one, I ran at 1160+kg, so I think I was doing some testing with the car before hand a few days ago simulating success ballast. I went to change oil because it was real slow. I thought that was why. Also I started the race on mediums, but I thought I was on softs. So that's why I was so erratic. In race 2 I tried to fix that but all I did was take the ballast off back to 1130kg. No retune or anything. So race 2 wasn't as good as I could have done. That's why race 3 I think I was able to win. I went in and fixed the suspension settings after race 2 back to what they were before I added the simulated success ballast. Turned out a little better.

Okay. Just so you know, there is no success ballast. Also, the reviews of replays will be tomorrow, from Race 3, and will focus on late braking management etc., more than the four wide "racing incidents" from lap 2. I got freight-trained off-line, and, through no one's fault, was unable to continue at the normal pace. So, the field bunched up. That's okay. Braking too late etc., is simply not okay.

You'll have to punish everyone for a mistake then. Because everyone got wide or broke too late. It's something that older tires and draft combine for. I know there is no success ballast. I don't use the GT88 for anything besides this series. So if you recall, it was two weeks back the last time I raced, and you were trying to tell me to run with 30kg of ballast. SO I TRIED that in testing and never reverted the car back to normal. I didn't have the chance to because as soon as I entered the room you started the race. You didn't even give me the chance to choose my tires. So I didn't have time to change my car settings.

Was this a hint at my driving Damu ??
If so I can´t remember this "incident" but maybe it´s following:

Okay maybe there is a different view on what is Divebombing.
D-bombing always has contact and forces one of his line.
But if 2 drivers go sid-by-side before they turn and the outer one steers into the inner one it´s not that the inner one d-bombed.
This is called out braking and normally called racing or passing.

@Lancer: Well I don´t call that change of behaviour racing it´s called: Driving dirty !

Seriously I want to win too and I want to get to the 1st place too but I would never dive-bomb just because it´s the "only" way to achieve this. And that is not the fact.
You gained 5 places at the start due to your AWD Car and fell back a bit.
And on lap (1, 2 or3) last Turn (sprint race) you d-bombed me off my line.
Well If that is your style then good night.
I like driving hard but always fair and if I can´t get passed someone the clean way then I can´t get passed him *period*.

If this series had some "open"-rules in terms of contact and passing I would accept it and do it the same way (like real BTCC or WTCC races) but here are rules for passing and therefore we all have to bow-down to them even in the Sprint race.
But that´s only my 2cents//opinion

My short opinion:

Seth, you did show up late.... We were ready to start right as you got on.. So we weren't going to wait.

I think racing was fine, but the sprint race has its downfall. As we saw in Rolex, sprint races don't always work. Here, people extend the touring car rules that including a bit of bumping and rubbing, and go overboard with it. Just my thoughts.

You jumped over the inside grass at the hairpin for the sprint race! You then kept going as if you did nothing! Regardless of the rest of the race, how can you then go on about people unfairly gaining positions after doing that? Granted it was one position, but still an unfair gain.

Sakery's race 3 start

Wait? WHAT THE **** IS UP WITH THE NUDGES ON MY CAR AT TURN 3!?!?

Lol, even my five year old sister was asking why the red car was pushing the black car.

The only real problem I see, is definitely the "weeee, I can fly!" and not the "I wonder if Storm's going to leave more room? No? ..."

If you really consider it, it looks more like Sakery is being "bounced" between Storm and FH, in that view. I had that same feeling.

If you really consider it, had Sakery yielded, then he wouldn't be in a position to be bounced between the Dodge team mates.

What are you talking about? When did I say wait? I only said why I wasn't doing so great in race one. Maybe next time you're reading someone's post, read through the whole thing? 💡

I think he meant "we" as in all bar Mel. Lobby (myself included) opinions seemed very much like: "**** it let's go!"; "He's late, his problem." Especially as I thought we were focusing on cleaning up the schedule, even if most people were offline at the arranged qualifying / practice time.

It's a very short summary of the race weekend as a whole. It isn't a reply with your post as a quote, but (I believe) was saying people should be there on time, or you lose a race. Take your own advice, possibly? 💡

Well you said that you didn't even have time to change tires, so I thought you would've liked time. I was just saying why the race started pretty much as soon as you joined the room.

You could have quoted just that bit, god damn it! Now you've made me look a right plonker with my last post.

Still, I reckon: turn up late - "Tough ****." Of course, it ain't my series :sly:

Send a message saying "I'll be five minutes late." - "We'll wait five minutes."

Now, Seth probably got stuck in a bit of traffic, but, it wasn't too bad.

It was bad having to restart the Rolex 16840856987 times, and that's why the Rolex was behind schedule.

*GT86 sorry OCD a little. I didn't even make the race. I think that races should start on time as long as a good number of participants are there. I don't know how many actually made the race.

BTW how does the points look?

Had we not posted at like the same time, I would've not said anything... But oh well.

My point is, I didn't ask anyone to wait for me. I just hurried online. I don't make excuses for being off pace. Just reasons as to why. That's what I was elaborating on. Running @1164kg I think it was on mediums to start out, I was wondering why I wasn't as fast as I thought I should be. That was the reason.

Cnd; points are under review, still. I'm not saying that there will be penalties, but I will be calling in some investigations.

Polar; I don't think anyone minds, that everyone's trying to explain what they meant in previous posts, or takes offense to what was said in previous posts. I see no negligent content in the posts. I think, if anyone wants to carry this on, it'll turn into one of those "it's okay man" things anyways.

Mel, what is the penalty for double stinting on softs and not using mediums? I had to pit again in race one, and after the race someone said "Sorry I used softs twice" and that was the end of it... IS there a penalty? I had to pit from either 2nd or 3rd.. I can't remember, 1st-3rd were all about .500 seconds away.

This is a slight points penalty, equivalent to losing 2-4 positions. The range of points lost is between 4-8, for the first offence. If it continues too often, however, full races will be disqualified. I'm aware of the "Sorry, I used softs twice" incident, and I'd like to PM the driver, and discuss any reasons why he may not have switched (pit command box failure, over-speed in the entry to pits) and that will decide whether the driver in question will lose 4 points, 6 points, or 8 points.

I'd like to be lenient, but still give the penalty for the double soft-stint. In the case of accidentally putting on two groups of compounds, I'll take suggestions, about how people can "settle" the problem, without needing to take, what effectively becomes a drive-through/stop-and-go penalty, as this will entirely ruin anyone's chances in the race. I have made the mistake, as well, and I switched to mediums on the following lap.

I believe, if people take two soft tire stints, that the drivers should be allowed to continue until there are three laps to go, to at least, minimize the damage, should this mistake be made, and should we be unable to find alternate action.

But, I'm looking for feedback; what's the least damaging way to "heed" a penalty for two soft stints?

I think you should finish last. I think that because when I pitted the next lap, I finished last.

I second this motion. It is a mistake, but you get more benefit from not fixing your mistake than actually doing the ethical thing. It is like unemployment in America. It gives you more assets than actually getting off your bum and getting a job.

I agree ... this has proven to have happened in the past ... If any driver runs two stints on one compound then they should have to make another pit ... if they don't pit again during the race then they should lose all there places and be placed last for that race ... My first race at GVE, when I made my pit I put on CH ... that required another pit stop and that mistake ensured last place for me ...

You're not even a drifter! The Subaru runs Sports tires stock... what were you doing on CH tires?
