Wallbanger's 1st annual million credit FF Summer Shootout!(6/19/11 final 7/17/11)

I believe in GT5 an 01 Civic Type R is all there is.

Based on my list, there are 3 different (EP)'s. But I don't entirely understand the question at hand, just trying to shine some light.

As per, there are two different types of '01 (EP) Type R and absolutely no '01 (EP3) Type Rs. I just wanted the author's confirmation of which car he used. I'd also like to know what parts were installed and what was removed in order for the car to hit its PP. They're not listed in the OP...

Lol, yes I meant 01's, but I see there are two. I don't know for sure, but I think the specs are the same.

I'm only viewing this thread in a moderator capacity, but I may as well help while I'm here. They aren't.

The (EP, EU) model has, as a 0.0 mile stock vehicle, 191hp and 19kgm (thanks, PD. Imperial horsepower and metric torque  ) and is a level 1 car. The (EP) model has 206hp and 19kgm and is a level 2 car. Both cars weigh the same though.

Interesting, explains the different power figures a couple of mine have, I'd assumed one had some mods, never really looked at the letters after the car name.:dunce:
Famine
(thanks, PD. Imperial horsepower and metric torque  )
You like that too?

This is precisely why I asked the question, I'm not just a pretty face you know. Invariable there are differences between Japanese and European versions of the same car, usually the Japanese variant gets more beans :ouch:

Which is odd since the Japanese have generally limited HP and had strict electronic limiters on top speed for their domestic cars while the export versions often had higher outputs and either a higher limiter or no limiter on top speed. Think Kaz and PD are playing hometown favorites?

Also have seen in the descriptions of several cars where they reference exported versions of a car with higher numbers but those cars are either not included in the game or else are exceedingly rare.

Kaz is most def. Playing favorites. I'm pretty sure Nissan has paid for most of the development of this game series. This one seems to be a little better, but my GT-R kicks the crap outta every other car on this game this side of a prototype. Oh well.
And btw... Any new tunes yet?

Don't think so and I need to get back on the road. Will check back in about an hour.

Not looking like it. Thanks for the CTR by the way. That the only one posted that I haven't tested... Waiting on assassin to post...

The cars I usually notice the differences are the Lexus/Toyota "J Edition" and the Honda "EU" variants. I know Subaru are a little tight on what gets delivered to the UK, the Japanese usually get uprated power over the UK versions. The UK Motoring Press has whined about it constantly in the past. Not sure what the general rule of thumb is for US exports though. I wouldn't be surprised if they get even more beans than everyone else. As per your comments, the Japanese have been stringent with power limits, most manufacturers had agreed limits too, lots and lots of motors that are around the 276bhp mark.

A lot of these agreements between Manufacturers have gone out the window recently (Nissan GT-R for example) and Government imposed restrictions have been relaxed too.

PS - Worth noting I am talking from a UK perspective, things may be different on the Continent...

The us gets the good cars? Not from japan they don't, well, not til ver recently. Uk had the evo, type R's, skylines, wrx, etc waaayyy before we ever did. Matter of fact we never did get a skyline or a type R anything. (there was an importer here who got a few skylines here in 2000-2003 then got put in jail for insurance fraud. Check out motorex). But the imports were never official. And as far a the 276hp limit its complete BS. GT-Rs almost put that down to the wheels. It was "rated" at 276 but never actually enforced by the Japanese. I won't even get into alll the euro hot hatches that we never saw (my favorite). I used to buy "max power" magazine and drool...

Try being stuck in the land of the Commodore and Falcon my friend. GT-Rs were at one point winning the Australian touring car series (or whatever it was called, I forget) and Nissan imported a whole 50 to sell. I don't think we got any of the Sierras that were doing the same thing. And plese don't get me started on the 'luxury' car tax that doubles the price we pay for anything compared to the cost in the US or EU.

Ever see Eric banas falcon? If not check out a documentary called "love the beast"... One of the best car films I've ever seen... Follows him through his life with his falcon... And finales with him doing athe Tasmanian (sp?) rally. Awesome.

Yeah. I'd make an exception for one of those. Except Mr Bana's got trashed during that targa if I recall. Or an original Monaro.

Yup sure did. You see his face at the end of it? Devastated. He's a bazillionaire, he doest care about cash, it was the car being broken that crushed his heart. That movie goes to show how someone can become attached to a car, and how it can be become a part of you. That's how I feel about my civic. My Lexus is worth 4 times as much but I'd set it on fire before I'd watch something destroy my civic.

Sorry Jack, don't know why I stopped short of testing your car. I'll get on it as soon as I can. And sorry for the apparent suggestion that your build was lacking info, when blatantly I was being a numptee (see above :indiff:)...

lol no worries man

So, since I'll be on a flight for the best part of 13 hours soon and will get started on testing cars tomorrow, the last thing I want is to have to come back to find this locked, or to find the mods have had to intervene again. So play nice boys, and I look forward to seeing the tunes, AssassinTuner, RJ, et al. :)

2 problems, the total power I got did not total 375, rather 368, and the top speed from those gear numbers is not 175mph.

I added a cat and then slightly de-tuned power, but I want to double check and make sure this is correct, figured I'd give him a chance to clarify either issue.

No worries my man, no worries.

I hope so……I have my doubts though……Mods, please do your bit and taser them if necessary to stop them fighting. It'll be much appreciated :)

I think the US got the whole Mazda RX-7 before the UK, but otherwise agreed. The UK gets a lot of Japanese motors, probably due to us both driving on the same side of the road. However, almost all Evos, Scoobies, Type Rs, etc that were produced explicitly for the UK/EUR market weren't spec'd as highly as the Japanese domestic versions. We're talking pocket change in difference.

Any agreement over power limits was purely on paper, and as per my previous, that agreement has gone out the window recently, GT-R being the case and example. A similar situation existed amongst German manufacturers, top of the pile, producing the pure sports cars, Porsche, tagging on behind them, BMW and Mercedes. Bringing up the rear, VW and Audi. The vast majority of their cars were electronically limited to 155mph (meaning for a short while, the fastest saloon car you could buy in the UK was a Mazdaspeed 6..!!). However, Audi went and shat all over that agreement by building the R8, all bets are off now :mischievous:

Just reviewed the tune and everything added up correctly. Just to make sure are you using the GPX version?

Yup, 94 FTO GPX.
Did the engine rebuild and chassis maintenance. (not chassis stiffening though).

edit: going to double check anyway though.

@CSLACR- those are amazing times. I'm DEFINATELY off the pace on those two. Nice work.
Thanks. They can be run faster, but my main focus is that they're all solid and most importantly, equal with one another in terms of what they can do. 👍
