Wallbanger's Cafe & Outlaw Motorsports Garage (New Tunes 6/15/12)

To whom are you referring to? :dopey:
I'm guessing its some of the posters in the Car of the Week thread who don't get the idea of running something in the game that hasn't already been proven to be a top performer and/or isn't from one of their personal favorite manufacturers.

Oh, okay. It's not the "Clueless" he was talking about :)

Hello again Outlaws. Sorry too be a bothersom newb but i wanted too let you all know that i've been having some issues replicating a couple of your builds(tris_73 Tunes "Speed of Sound" and ACSR421 Tunes "GT No Stripe 2.0" to be precise). I'm starting with new or relatively low mile cars(engine rebuild and body refresh done before attempting build) and once i've completed the set ups outlined in the forum i end up with less hp and more weight than described, and i can't get the gear boxes set up as described. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the hell i'm doing wrong!(snaps controller :banghead:). As always any help would be appreciated.

No problem asking for help. With the Mustang you may be down on HP because the car isn't fully broken in yet. As far as weight goes that should be the same as long as your using the same base cars and doing the weight reduction and window weight reduction indicated in the tunes. For the transmission as long as you follow the indicated steps in the order listed you should be able to reach the gear ratios listed. One note is that ACSR lists speed in MPH while Tris uses KPH. You'll either need to do a conversion to whichever you use or else change your settings while doing the builds.

Good luck and if your still having issues feel free to ask and we'll do our best to help fix them.👍👍

I really do appreciate the help. I did catch the kph/mph difference and adjusted my unit scale setting accordingly between working on each car. The Speed of Sound Mustang Mach 1 is the car that came up with different power/weight figures. I bought one from the NCD for this build (already had a maxed out one in grabber blue:drool:) and emidiatley put new oil in to avoid pp climb per lab and followed power/weight mods as outlined but still ended up short and fat so to speak.
The GT presented me with the gearbox issue. I have the stripe version of the same year as used in the build listed. In following the trans tune process i reset to default, set top speed too 230mph, and then begin on the individual gears but can't get 2nd low enough while the remaining gears seem fairly high(take with a grain of salt, i am clueless about gear settings). Then i go to reset the final drive too 3.36, but thats the default setting to begin with! I am very lost, this is why i usually only mess with final drive and top speed slider:dopey:

Thanks again for all your help!:cheers:

The Mustang will need to be ran in for around 170-180miles to be fully broken in. Until you do this it will be short on power. As for the weight as long as you've done the same stage weight reduction (stage 2 I believe) the car should weigh the same.

Not positive but I believe the issue your having with the GT is because you don't have the right base car. Despite being the same year they are not identical as PD included minor differences in the two beyond just the paint for some reason.:odd:

Yeah, two different cars the other settings should work well with it though. I also updated the spec 2.0 Ford GT today but the trans. ratios stayed the same and still line up fine. Another thing to consider when building one of the garages cars is that using any different combination of exh, intake, turbo, engine stage parts than what is listed in the build sheet can and will change the default gear ratios causing problems when trying to replicate them. I don't think that is the problem here but just two different game spec'd cars. Hope this helps.

Ah Ha, well i guess i just have to wait for a no stripe to pop up along with an ssr in ucd:censored:

As always i appreciate the help. If you ever need something test driven let me know, i usually have quite alot of free time:cool:

Shoot me a friend request I have my GT on share :sly:

Right on, thanks acsr. It'll be a couple hours before i can get on psn(sleeping brother who is liable to throw things when woken, office with pc on other side of house:lol:)

Had a great idea for the Alfa...unfortunately between my lack of driving skills and issues with the car its not working out.

Any thoughts on getting a 345hp, 298ft-lb torque, 1260kg FF to actually grip and turn on gravel?

At 475PP the car was absolutely killing the competition at the 500PP Challenge race on Tokyo R246. Took it to the intermediate rally special event which is why its at power and weight it is and can't keep it out of the barriers. I've totally reworked the suspension and transmission but it might as well be on ice skates.

Hmmmm…Try setting the front at maximum height and lowest at the back. And watch this thing turn into the inner barriers.

Naw think I figured it out. Changed my dampers around and started getting more grip on the gravel.:D

Ole Harvey Wallbanger still can't drive though!

HHmmmm. I'm not sure why you're seeing a different weight here. This car was an entry in a tuning shootout so I would have triple checked everything before posting. I'll check again tonight when I get home from work. The HP difference will be as XDesp said. You'll need to break the car in to get it up to the listed number. The easiest way to do this is to hand it over to a couple of your BOBs and get them to do the Laguna Seca enduro. This race is bang on the 300km you need to break the engine in. When you get the car to the listed HP number, you'll be able to hit the right numbers in the transmission as well.

Sorry mate. Can't really help here. The car I have is sitting exactly as it is written up in the tune post. Have a check of your settings and let me know if it's still different.

Great idea, looks like a good read. Too bad it doesn't have something like a PDF version, for those without Android. It would be a good secondary support.

Yea…but then we won't buy Androids and the business part of the plan will fail! Which isn't good.

Also, the cars you requested have been put on share. That is the Carlton and the Punto, and the Ferrari is on share…it was taken off last night, weirdly…:odd:

Well, I had a go with the Ferrari, not sure if that has to do with anything...:nervous: Also, I have checked Harvey's 400 PP tune, albeit Bob was the one to drive it. I'll check the Punto and see how it does.

I have found if you put a car in your favorites and then on share, you are less likely to have it disappear. :odd:

Of course everyone may already know this and I'm just late to the party like always, where all the food is gone but the stale crackers :dopey:

Ok then, it was quite a good car…from the last time I drove it, that is.

Wait, what? You hired a car, then gave it to your idiot cousin-in-law to drive???!!!??

Mr Clueless, have you noticed the majority of the prizes now in the Photomode Competitions (CCCL and Secret Santa)?

They're all by you. :P

And by the way, the reason they disappear is because you more than likely didn't save before quitting the game since it won't save for you once something gets put in your favourites and on share.

Sometimes, stupid cousin wants to drive, and if I don't give him what he wants, he'll steal the car away from me...:scared::lol: I was just seeing how he did with a proper car, jokes aside.

So how was the Fezza then? Found its edge?

Well, the Ferrari did convinced me, it is a fun car to drive, as fun as my Scudi. Fast and grippy, when you don't push it like it was Sonny Corleone... When that happens, you sleep with the fishes!:nervous::lol:

I thought it was going to be next week for the photo prizes :dunce: (so I knew about it just got my days screwed up)

Save before exit :banghead: I'm an idiot :dopey:

There is a very fine line between spinning and making it to the next corner on the limit, when you feel it's letting go, you push on for a bit more, before backing away and then taking the next corner. It's a slightly tricky thing to drive at the limit. To say the least.
