War Thunder (F2P Air/Ground combat MMO)

Is there any map where allies have advantage? I'm really getting fed up with the maps where opponents spawn earlier or get an airspawn..

We talking about Realistic Battle for Planes?

If so, Bombers get Air Spawn, R2Y2, F-84..

And some people rush and don't climb, so they get there a tad faster then people who start climbing right away.

RB for planes.. I won't do arcade for anything else but tanks. Also, I'm starting to give up on the climbing thing once more as most of the team doesn't do it anyways.. They just fly right under enemy swarm. I can count with one hands fingers out of hundreds of matches how many allied teams have won. And no, I don't count Russians as allies, nor functional faction until their flightmodels start to make sense.. :P

So, ground pounding, here I come.. It's funny really. With A-20G I climb and then make shallow dive to bombingpoint. I look around and my goddamn ground attacker is at higher altitude than 95% of the team! /rant

It really depends on the plane though. Higher Altitude Plane fight much better at Higher Altitude, like the P51D5, D20, 30. Its crap at low altitude. Being low gives you a disadvantage, because you'll end up turn fighting. Not all planes are turn fighters, some are suited for BnZ.

Yak's, and BF109's always climb. 95% of the time they climb up to 15k feet. And then start BnZ.

I will not tolerate this dishonourable talk. Japanese are my favourite planes.

hate to say it. They are a waste.

I usually won't go further than tier 3.. after that, the flying is more of a chore than fun, and as mentioned, repair and purchase costs skyrocket at that point. P-38J is now almost 400k lions.

My issue with Japanese planes is, that despite of being known for their agility, they rip wings far too easily even when spaded. That and their duns have so slow muzzle velocity despite of being license built German equipment, that they need excessive amount of lead in order to hit.. and then they spark upon impact. :ouch:

Why?

And you are using the Yak wrong. They were designed to be used sub 5k ft as the Russian mentality was that the plane was meant to support the ground troops. This is how they made planes that are such great all rounders but if you take them high they suck at pretty much everything.

Yaks can outrun most planes in War Thunder at higher altitude as-well. Under 15,000feet it performs still really well. And it does really well on low altitude.

Suck? Yaks? They outrun and outturn anything I've thrown at them. And it seems that theyr guns knock me off from the sky with a glancing blow, where as their stalinium/stalinwood composite planes seem to absorb ridiculous amounts of hits before dying.

I never said they suck. I said they are good at low alt but only low alt.

Got back into playing this (hadn't for a while because Warframe and Driveclub took up a lot of my time) and despite the suckage (Suck at dodging fire, get shot down quite abit), I enjoyed it. I'll likely get a video series going specifically to just make fun of my terrible skills at this game

Anyone know if Logitech G940 flight stick system works with war thunder on PS4? A friend of mine is selling his for low price of 200 euro and I'm tempted..

I generally take 2 rounds of HE in all my tanks for the purpose of killing SPAA, or open turret TDs.

Although I rarely get to use it, 2 rounds will now cause my entire tank to blow up if I show them my side/angle. A good shot is the only thing that's gonna kill me.

This is a terrible idea... SPGS will never have a chance. Go ahead and kill me off rather than wait around to spawn back in. Unless I'm at Berlin and facing down an alley right at the enemy in a well covered spot, this is a terrible idea.

You need to learn how to hide. If you're dying too soon you're probably going straight to the objectives and getting yourself killed. Learn how to play the tank you're in. If you're in a tank destroyer (TD) that can rotate its turret, play it by angling the tank to bounce shots off, and hide behind walls until ready to shoot once reloaded.

If you're playing the German or Russian tank destroyers, they only have self propelled guns (SPG). These are some of the best tanks/guns in game if you know what you're doing. Again, it similar TD play style, but you need to stay covered more, and watch your flanks, as you have to rotate your entire tank to turn your gun. These tanks are best for open environments as they generally have a lot of armor, but in low tier battles you want to position yourself with a view all the way down an alley where there are no flanks.

Generally in the TD/SPG games, you want to be behind the regular tanks, support thing with your heavier/larger guns.
That said, when playing regular tanks you are the front line. You find the closest piece of cover to the objective you can find, and kill off anyone else attempting to take it. Don't go and rush into the cap before the rest of your team is there to back you up, as that's how you die early. Find your cover, and wait for them to come for you. If there's a map where you have good cover all around, and your teammates can still squeeze by you, this is the ideal situation. Once the enemy tanks start to come in more slowly, this is when you cap the base, push up, and find a new cover spot.

Generally speaking, in Arcade Battles you're going to find people who just run straight to the bases and die, and repeat three times. In realistic, you have to protect yourself and everyone else around you because you have to pay to get in the next tank, and if someone beside you goes down, then chances are they wont be coming back. That's how you get overrun in RB, and ultimately lose.

I'm getting better at War Thunder tanks now but I always get killed by one shot for some reason it takes time to get used to fighting on new battlefields I normally don't like fighting in big towns I like to get the tank in a high place that is far away from the other tanks and shot them off one by one. Finland has been my favourite battlefiled but still I finish about 10th in my team I'm still not as good as the people I'm Playing against. My German tanks normally get killed in one hit for some reason and I always have to use a lot of ammunition on Russian tanks I have no idea what they are made of and the American tanks will destroy you easily so I think I am going to have to buy better German tanks. Why does nobody use a headset on War Thunder it would be helpful to lead the team in a better way and do a few war strategy's and why must all the aircraft crash on your tank it does no damage.

Will edit later on.. 2 am right now..

Its not every day when you hear everyone else's story and you start to prefer being shot down everytime

I'm just on a massive streak of spawning, getting taken out early, and repeat upon joining another match.

I'm not even playing aggressively, which is the worst part of it all.

I can't stand it when the same player kills you twice.

So, plane wise I'm currently working on P-38J on American tree, Bf110C4 on german tree, something on Russian tree so I can get to Mig 3's, Cannon-Typhoon on British tree and Ki-61 on japanese tree so I can get to Cannonbusa. The grind is real.. :irked: Fortunately, the first Typhoon has good bonuses for grinding and it can actually kill stuff occasionally, when all 12x.30cals hit the target..
