Was ther ever a car you hated/didn't like...but then...

...you tuned it and it became one of your favorites? This happened to me while trying to win the buggy Opal Speedster trophy. I have no idea why, but the rest of those cars when you enter it are WAAAAY faster than the default car, making it impossible to win it if you don't modify your car. .

So I had an unused Speedster Turbo and decided to see if I could conquer that one-make event. So I put everything on it, gave it Racing Medium tires, and put a spoiler on it.

...HOLY CRAP! (I still didn't win the first race (2nd), heh )...That thing handles like a dream now, and I've christened it my Speedster Turbo-R.

Also, I remember someone saying on here that the Cappuccino is an absolute blast to drive all tuned up. *goes to find one*

i bought the car (used) Nissan Skyline R34 Midnight Purple Editon special and some v-spec maybe r-tune gt-r maybe (idk), anyways, it only came with 276 HP (along with 99%of all used cars lol) and i tuned it completely and got it up to maybe ~900 HP, used that car for sooo long

Can't say I've ever experienced that. All the cars I dont like I either ignore or just let B-Spec drive.

The Opel Speedster is a pretty sweet car to drive. I prefer the Elise's looks though. Same car underneath, just Opel styled it with a ruler.

I'm not gonna say I hated a car by default, and then grew to love it as i drove it...i'm too much of an enthusiast to simply hate any vehicle (although I hate working on some in real-life!)

but I will admit there are plenty of times (too many to count) when I looked at a car, thinking it wouldn't be up to the task, but as I drove it (and tuned it) I learned I could win races with it.

My list of surprises is too large to list here, but off the top of my head, any large, grotesque muscle car certainly sits on this list!

I can only think of the miata.

I started using it more and more on deep forest, it quickly became my favourite car, i love the elevated section in the middle, just before and after the bridge, if yo get that right and almost flat out, its a joy to watch on the replay.

Honda Insight.

Always thought hybrids were useless after the un-tuneable Prius on GT2. Okay, it only makes 163hp max with all power upgrades, but with weight lopped off, semi racing suspension and a close gearbox it has won a few races (admittedly only in beginner events), but still, good for a few A-spec points here and there.

I use to not like any skyline, but then I bought a awd R32. tuned it. then started to drift it while figuring out what specs worked for the car. 89 black with black lip. stock black rims.

I thought that the MX-5 isn't such a great car, but after I've tuned it and changed some settings, it became such a great car and it could easily keep up with cars with more than 100 hp more 👍

Definately my BTR. Didn't hate it per se, just disliked driving it. Soon to be launched at AMMT as a full power LM car!!!

I've got a couple I felt were crap in real life but turned out alright after a bit of driving and then tuning on here. Cars like:

Silvia Q's.
Commodore SS
3000GT SR.
'92 NSX Type R.

Alright, they aren't really crap cars, but there were better versions of most of them (Silvia K's, 3000GT VR-4/MR, '02 NSX Type R). And after working them all, I can say they all perform well. But one that IS CRAP but turns out alright is believe it or not, the PRIUS. :mischievous: Not the fastest by a long shot or anything....but it's a good car when fully worked and tuned right.

Try it and see. ;)

Never really hated a car... I bought an Autech Stagea and i like it before, but after driving it tuned i fell in love... such an awesome car..

I always hated the Clio V6. It was ugly, and it never drove well in Midnight Club or Forza. Then I drove it, and proceeded to fall in love with it. It's like my AE86 of Forza. Ugly as balls, but a blast to drive

The Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg ZR. After driving the Civic Type R EK9 with full mods i thought that the little Mitsu hatch would be awful. Boy was i surprised that it had such neutral handling and very little understeer. It was sweet.

Mm hmm.. I seem to remember the Cyborg being a little gem. :)

Chevrolet Camaro 350 SS '69. Great looks, but what's underneath the body doesn't make up for it. Gave it a little tune, and off we go! :D
