The fastest growing group of binge drinkers in UK are girls (or ladettes) between the age of 18-25. I don't think ID would help much.U2fanman1. ID cards () for everyone who goes into any bar which has had the most crime problems.
Some clubs already charge £5 for a bottle of water and £120 for Dom. It might increase the amount of drink people consume from the off licence before they go out.U2fanman2. Large increase in the price of drinks maybe as much as £5 to deter people spending stupid amounts of drinks every night.
Door staff, as they like to be called don't let obviously drunk people in already. Once they are inside though, theycan get hammered!U2fanman3. Bouncers have the powers to breathalise people who go into bars who look like trouble and also to check their identities and people they may socialize with and then ban them from the bar, other bars and off-licences in the area for a LONG time.
Never! No way=U2fanman4. Finally, a ration on the amount of drinks ALL people can have in a single day, e.g. everyone who goes into the bars etc is given by the bouncer or whoever is at the door 2-5 tokens which they must hand into the barman to buy a drink (1 token per drink). They cannot be given any more when they enter and if they buy drinks for anyone else, that person must give in the number of tokens that corresponds to the number of drinks they received.
The problem with drink related antisocial behaviour tends to happen on the streets as the clubs are closing, and not actually inside them.
All the clubs close at 2am (except for a very few which open till 8am) this puts a huge strain on the resources of the police. There must be 100 officers lined up on the seafront as the clubs kick out.
It is very expensive on a Friday, Saturday, and not all towns and cities can afford to cover everywhere.
One of the best solutions, which is voluntary at the moment, is for large chains of pubs like weatherspoons, to put up the money to pay for the extra cover needed between 1-3am.
At the moment the council tax pays for it, and the budget is tight.
If clubs paid for the uniformed presence, violent drunks would not be a problem for anyone who just wanted to go out and have a few drinks.
Lets face it some of these clubs make an absolute fortune, and could well afford it.
