We will see the Lotus 97T!

Yes again, I'd love to see the track in GT. Just not in this pack. Fin.
At this point it makes no sense whether it came with the pack or after on its own. GT has been around almost 2 decades and we get Senna content and Imola within a short period of time? No thanks Jeff.
If PD are sticking to this whole early career, pre 1988 stuff, they need to keep the tracks and cars from those years.

Yeah. Imola would be a nice inclusion though. Just not connected to Senna... Pre-1988 or not...

Well if we get the MP4/4 Monaco is basically rendered off that season. :3.

Sim Raceway has exclusive licensing to McLaren F1 cars including the MP4-4.

Probably exclusive on PC. There is no logical reason for them to pay a lot more money for console exclusivity when they don't make a console game.

Surprisingly I got a response from them asking this question:

Thank you for contacting Simraceway support, I understand that this will relate to all platforms and specifically to the content available at that time, as it's been a while since that statement was released the newer F1 models may appear in other titles aside from Simraceway.

So he seems to be saying it's all platforms relating to the models originally announced.

As for why, I guess to help increase sales. If someone really wants to drive McLaren F1 cars and you give them an option on consoles they might not buy SimRaceWay.

As for the M23 in Forza, again I believe that was thanks to a licensing deal with Rush. How it negated the above license I couldn't tell you but it does seem to have been a loophole for that particular car.

"Newer F1 models" is probably the Codemasters F1 games, as they can't put a stop to the new McLarens being featured in those.

That being said, I really don't like exclusive licensing for anything.

Except that Simraceway is a free download and cars are cheap enough to be impulse purchases. Again, they might claim it, but it doesn't make any logical sense to extend a licence to systems you don't have a game on.

The McLaren F1 cars aren't that cheap, $5-$7.50 each which adds up. I imagine they're banking a lot on those being big sellers and if someone is tied between paying for those or paying £40 for a full console game with some of them in it might be lost sales.

They might just be claiming it but if it's not true we've not seen anyone else take advantage of it since, with the exception of one car in Forza mentioned many times. So I wouldn't really expect to see anything in GT.
