Here's my MAX drive Mini replay in NTSC format.

@Sphinx are you using a MAX Drive too? Any idea whether the PAL - NTSC needs a convertor or if they just work?

Congrats to all the podium winners 👍 (also the Mini podium)
Please post all analyzer data and replays in this thread.
Also, I would like to request that division winners from each division post one or the other (keeps up the idea of an honor system).
Aha, I like always a good discussion about data and replays.

1.In principal nobody has to prove nothing. The rules are clear enough.

2. the data shows not the of track excursions and the tiny wall taps.

3.When you have no replay device,it is more tempting to do a dirty time submitting.
Especially when it is way faster than your clean one.
With a x-port or sharkport in your possession you wouldn't even think about it.

I can field this one
PAL replays can't be loaded onto a mem card and viewed on NTSC, and vice versa

I tried doing this for theWizard a couple days ago with one of hugo's replays (it was week 101 i believe) by converting his xps to max and uncrushing it to my card so i could capture it as mpeg and share it with him.

Didnt work. I'm not sure if it's due a difference in the file format, or just the different display resolutions in the two regions. Either way, they're incompatible

whether or not there's a converter from PAL to NTSC available, I'm unsure

yes ther is a conveter, im just not sure where it can be found.

Actually, there is a way to convert the replays, I've just never bothered learning it.

let me find it...

Found it...
Experience has finally paid off (taking part in bc4 is just one little step  )

http://forums.gttimes.com/viewtopic.php?t=9148

Not sure if that works or not since I never bothered.
Have fun figuring it out lol.

Same goes for the links since I don't know if certain people are allowed to view the bc forums over there.
(I only go there for database stuff)

Later. :D

Here's the convertor, but you can't convert from PAL to NTSC, only PAL-xps to PAL-max or vice versa. Same story for NTSC.

I've used that with my MaxDrive, and it's been pretty good so far 👍. Sometimes my maxdrive doesnt seem to recognize the files but most of the time its great.

Also,Kent, I remember we talked about moving some racers do D2 to even out the competition, and I see you are doing it with Azuremen here, so I was wondering if you had put any thought into possibly moving some people to make the divisions more competitive, but certainly with their discretion. What bugs me is that I'm never going to reach the times of Hugo, Ron etc., even if I put in a lot of time into the combo. Another thing is, I never really have any rivalries, like NielsG and Sjaak, which I think would be a great experience. I know it would be a big decision, so take your time on this one. With GT4 coming up, I want to get into racing again, and with the large amount of new racers it looks like we could have some great fun in the weeks to come 👍.

I don't want to look too far ahead (GT4 isn't officially out for us yet), but you can adjust weight and power of the cars in GT4 (in arcade mode I think). So maybe we can apply weight penalties for the first ... drivers. No need to change the divisions now then ;)

yes, it is as i thought then.
I already had the program (or a program similar to) referenced by Kent and Hugo for converting xps to max and back, I make us ot it frequently so I can edit my max saves states with mk's garage

anyways, I'm leading this conversation off topic

Good times grippers

that's kind of interesting, it'd much like JGTC or British Touring car, or others where top qualifiers are given additional weight

~TankSpanker thinks about his and Azuremen's ISCC series ~
(shameless plug :D)
would be an easy and effective way to level the field of cars when we move over, if what you say is true

so what your saying icemanshooter23 is there should be a Elite Division? or another division between Div2 and Div1 so people who can win Div2 easily but havnt got a chance against Hugo, Tannis, CFM etc can go in?

The "elite" division is a possibility, but I think it would be much easier to just move some a bunch of the racers. At the moment I can see many racers who would compete well together in D2, which would give them a chance for a podium. This would also give an opportunity for the D3 racers to have some more competition from the D2 racers who might be moved down, as D3 has always been a little lighter in number of racers than the other division. I do realize this would be a lot of work Kent, so don't think I'm pressing this on you, I just wanted to throw it out there to see what some other people thought about the situation.

The idea about changing weight etc. in arcade cars for GT4 is interesting, but I myself wouldn't feel right about placing that limitation on drivers who have earned their place at the top each week. Why should they be deprived of a podium because someone else in slower? The only way I can see this working is if it was a mandatory weight increase division wise, which would mean similar times from D1 through D3. I guess we'll just have to wait and see 👍.

If you want a move in division just say something and we can work from there.

That goes for every racer in the series.

Ice,
if you have an idea of who should be where, just say it. 👍

As for me...
I've run behind a bunch of different racers over the last 2 years and in the process I only managed 3 D1 wins out of 48 D1 runs. :(
(with 58 races total)

Plus, think of how nice my dreams of my D2 days are...
10 D2 races
3 D2 wins
3 D2 silvers
... 10 weeks of racing with 6 podiums!

Oh the good ol' days!

One last thing:
Would any of you care about running a qualifier again?
(just a question, nothing important though)

i wouldnt mind, though i quite like my div 1 spot, i think i can finish top 5 in div 1 from now on. but i do think some Div 2 guys should be in div 3, have a look at the results, div2 1st place 1:14.114 the last of the tegs are 1:16.xxx. Div 2 is a very big division, and its a hard problem. maybe there should be 4 divisions, 3 racing ones and 1 for the play once a week guys. some of the times presented in integras do sotra suggest some people ran 3 laps. I dont know the solution and i have no idea how to fix it, but for me, i dont really mind the system atm, im happy where i am.

First I would like to say I'm very happy with the division system. And to me both div 2 and div 1 seems very well functioning. 👍

Getting podiums is extremely hard for most of us. And that's the way it should be. The div 1 is clearly dominated of a handful of highly skilled racers, who doesn't leave many podiums for the rest of div 1. If you moved those slower div 1 racers to div 2, then the div 2 would be dominated by those guys and so on.

Creating more divisions will IMO make each division less competitive and more vulnerable to natural fluctuations of numbers of racers. :indiff:

Kent's offer to move the racers, who feel they should be in another division, seems to me to be a good and very democratic solution. 👍

Another thing is, I never really have any rivalries, like NielsG and Sjaak, which I think would be a great experience.

It is a great and very educational experience. :)
But take a look through the results. The times from top div 1 to top div 3 are usually very close. Only the very top and the very bottom seems to be without real competition. You're close to someone too week after week (Yes, I noticed you haven't raced since week 97).

It's not like sjaak and me are close every week, but we're discussion times and helping each other back channel, so it's more the friendship than the rivalry, that makes it great. I have the same cooperation going on with banjobear and also did, when I was in div 3 and he was in div 2. 👍
