week 5 driving skill competition - R8 @ GVS

Had another go and improved tonight. Ok it was actually a third go and improvement, but last time I didn't like the amount of runoff I used at the end of the lap so I didn't submit it.

Tranny: Manual / Paddles
ABS: Off
Brakes: 8 / 3

I can probably beat that but I don't know if I'll try again with the Nordschleife and a much more pleasant and driveable car beckoning. Maybe if I find a little extra time.

Good challenge in that its an understeer prone car on a track good at extracting understeer. And the R8 isn't a car I would normally choose to drive so another win for the WDSC 👍

Nice time, this seems one of the most popular combos so far! I much prefer understeer to oversteer, understeer is much easier to deal with IMO. Anyway hope to see you competing again next week 👍

@Fobia, you can't expect everybody to be up to you amazingly high standard :lol: anyway it would be great to see you participating in future weeks, thanks.

Great times everybody! Only 2 hours until week 6 kicks off, and I haven't thought about what track/car combo yet, oh dear :lol:

Zonda R on RH @ Fuji/nurburgring gp?

Any ideas guys? I'm struggling atm, had a very busy week with no time to think about it. Ideas are greatly appreciated.

Maybe Zonda yes, but TGTT or something like that. I can't really test feel of that not near console at present. Eiger Short perhaps

I haven´t spent too much time on this week´s challenge. Witch is a shame because the combo is great 👍
Discovered yesterday that I haven´t played the seasonal events since this hole competition started 5-6 weeks ago. I bougth Bmw´s for 3 mill cr. yesterday :dopey:. Also did the time trials today + Started to do the different A-spec challenges and got caught up in that. And also bought Unchartred 3 for the easter holliday. This is my lame excuse for not doing any better :D

Edit: What about a M3 on something. I know it´s slower than the R8, but I find it such a great drive. Maybe Monza ?

I've als enjoyed this weeks combo, just can't seem to get it to click, have only spent about an hour in total on it. Made a new PB though :)

I find monza a bit dull only really straights and chicanes. But what does everybody else think?

Sounds a bit masochistic with the Zonda at Eiger! But Zonda on RH or lesser tyre is good.

M3 is a great drive but you need some twisties to chuck it about on.

On reflection it is a bit, the throttle control would have to be ridiculously pinpoint. Maybe something more sweeping indeed, Fiji is a good bet in that case.

And no no1pal I don't :) I can be very competitive :lol:! Shame I didn't have more time, would have spent a lot more time on this combo, could have easily gone under 2:05 with another half an hour of time.

Really want some opinions on track, I think zonda r on RH is good for a change, fuji, nurb gp or tgtt?

Nurb gp, Fuji, tgtt in that order for me. I think it would be at home on the nurb track, and you could use its power. Tg could be a bit frustrating but I suppose that's where the challenge is :)

After a tortuous 2 weeks I have finally updated the leaderboards for this week and last week. Will do top 10s and 5s in the next couple of days. Thanks all for your patience over the past days as I have travelled the length of britain, moved house and bought a new car. Life has not been exactly stress free! but i am back and all is well!
