Time submitted. I can guarantee it'll place last in Division One, but I don't care - I had LOTS of fun... :D

That's alright fella. 👍
I would rather see you turn something in and have fun with us, than only come around when you think you might win.

As for my runs this week... I finally got something down, but it is not anything "fast".

I would say it was a weak in the final half of the run, and the t2 was only at 44.9, so I know that there is another .5 to come off my current run. (and that .5 is for me, not the faster racers that could find even more time. ;) )

Anyway, I will be heading out now, but keep up the work everyone.

btw, getting submissions already...
Might see a good turn out this week. :D

"WHAT'S UP, Fellas....and Lady? I'm going to try to find the time to get an entry in.....been working long hours and been to exhausted to race.

I had to open up 3 tracks to get a 787B on my arcade list....and man! ...I feel rusty! First few feel-out laps are 12.0's and 45 mids, so a lot of work will be needed to get used to driving a blindingly fast car again.

So, let's see how it goes.....:odd: :D

Edit: Another short practice session....getting a slightly better feel for the car and track. The car is fairly predictable and well mannered....it pretty much goes where you point it with very few quirks, it's just a matter of working the best line and careful braking. Running high 11's and 45.1's....still way off from a good controlled lap.

I can tell GoKents hasn't looked at my submission yet, else there'd be an "eek" smiley in his post... :D

I didn't use the 787B. Or R390. Or TS020. Or even the Zonda... :D

Can I get 3 guesses but the first 2 don't count?

I may run it in a non 787b too. Me and the 787 don't get on.

Damn, wish I could submit this time but I can't get this ****ing disc to load the intro movie! :banghead: Anyone know of a way I can fix this? It's not the PS2 because I'm playing a different game right now, but damnit I've tried everything I have here!

Maybe the disc surface is damaged and it makes the console crash when loading the intro ?

I've resurfaced the disc a number of times but still no go, there is no visable damage and I'm about ready to chuck the PS2 out the window, any help?

[EDIT]: Happy belated B-Day CFM!

Hmmm... sounds like a pretty bad problem.

You said you were playing other games too, so do not kill your ps2.

However, dealing with this problem could be done in a few ways if you ask me. First off, trying to resurface and clean the disk might help (even if you are doing it again, it just might help... and remember to clean the disk well ;) ).

Also, you may want to just go buy a new copy of gt3. Sure, it's a little bit of money (10 bucks used at any eb game store), but that little bit of money is a whole lot better than the large chunk of change you're gonna need if you plan on buying a new playstation.

I suggest cleaning the game.

If nothing works and the system is freezing only for gt3, buy a new game.

If this is just a "disc read error" sort of problem do a search for "disc read error fix tech tv xplay". Those terms should eventually lead you to the xplay site where they explain how to fix the disc read error.

You could also search the gtp for those same words and you may be able to find a post of mine from long ago where I provided a link to the xplay site.

Whatever the case, good luck. :D

Now about the racing...
Famine, nah, I saw that you ran something other than the 787 and my thoughts were, hey, atleast he's turning something in. Of course, I also thought, what the hell is he thinking driving that thing, but why not? :D

And daan, I can understand what you're saying... I don't really like any of the arcade cars, so you not getting along with the 787 is fully understandable.

In fact, that is why I said any S class car instead of limiting this to the 787... I knew it was a 1 car race, but I figured that I should still leave people's options open. I guess that was a good idea since I already have two pros talking about using something beside the 787.

I also just want to throw out a few reminders to everyone...
Remember to include your time, division and car used.

Anyway, catch you guys (and any girls we have running this week) later. :D

I practice some more today, and had some T1 = 11.7 and T2 = 45.8 but nothing clean so far.
Famine's post, saying he had LOTS of fun and yet will be last among the Division 1 drivers, makes me guess he drove the Speed 12. (I also did a few laps, but I have 100 times more problems to get a clean turn than in the 787B, so I'll keep on driving the latter).
2 more evenings to go...

I actually like the 787B lots - especially after the iLink last week (smug mode cancel). But I'm wierd like that, and whenever there's a one-obvious-car choice, I won't go with it... :D

falt-out - That obvious? :D I also did times in the Zonda, TS020 and R390 for good measure, but they aren't my official times... :D

I tried all S-class cars on this track, except the J-GTC NSX and Skylines. The Speed 12 is the only one that matches your description :
1) LOTS of fun in capital letter, that I can easily imagine having done a few laps myself ;
2) yet a terrible time compared to other cars.
The whole thing about the Speed 12 is to have a clean turn, not to have a good time. I was thinking at submitting a Speed 12 time, since I coudn't have a clean one with the 787B. That would have given me a good reason for being the last in my division.
Now that the idea has been used once, I only have to try and keep that 787B away from the walls. :(

Not me.
I'm in love with my DS2 and wouldn't change it for anything else. (Besides my wife wouldn't appreciate much having the steering wheel and pedals in the middle of the living room ;) )

Yep!!! 👍
:D Owned 29 cars in my life and NOT ONE of them has had a Joystick or Buttons to steer it with!!! :irked: Currently using the "New" wheel from Logitech designed for GT4...UB57 :D

Yes - but I doubt any of them had a 10 inch steering wheel with paddle shifters... :D

:D Actually, my Small Block Chrysler V8 powered '49 Anglia Sedan ("Prefect" to you Lads) had a 10" wheel hooked to a "MG" Rack & Pinion working "North/South" rather than "East/West" & the trans was a "Push Button" actuated Torque-Flyte! Would that count??? ...UB57 :D

Hi All,
Just got a clean run in last night,
T1=12.0
T2=45.5
I hope to get more time in tonight and tomorrow,as I have seen too many 11.7/44.7's go down the drain.
Wheel user here.Getting the GT4 wheel soon.

Later,

Well obviously I'm the only person here with a 360 modena. :mischievous:

As for a wheel...
I think it was a couple weeks back, but someone mentioned that I was the only pro to run that week without a wheel.

So yeah, there are plenty here with wheels, and still some of us (famine and I for sure) who are running with the ds2.

Hell, I'm going to guess here, but thanks to all of the various controller problems I have seen, I am willing to bet that I have run more races with the ds1 controller than anyone else in the weekly (probably turned in a total of 3 races with the ds1).

On a side note, just want to encourage everyone to do their best.

And remember the deadline. Before tuesday my time.
Results will be posted at about 12:30 am tuesday, so make sure you get those times in before then.

Good luck and have fun.
Later. :D

I've just changed over from my MOMO to my new Driving Force Pro.

UB57 - if it weakens my case, no it doesn't count... :D

Button-bashers rule. You know it... :D

Got the disc fixed, when I was cleaning the PS2 lens I moved the two white gears all the way up, all I did was move them down a bit and now it's working fine, my time is in and I assure you I will have the worst time overal, but just look at the car before you judge ok?

@ 'kents, man ive run every race up until last week's with a ds1, cos my gf threw the ds2 in frustration and broke it lol
ive finally fixed it, but you can hear it vibrate from the other side of the house!!!

Finally had the chance to get in a decent session on this one. Best clean lap with the 787b is 11.631 46.324. Wish I had a wheel for that fast right 180 shortly after the T1.

I finally had a clean run :irked:, though the time is far from being wonderful :
T1 = 12.0 - T2 = 45.8
There is about .300 to find on each sector, so almost 1 second on the total lap time. I hope I can practice some more tonight.

Alright everyone...

Less than 12 hours till the deadline.

Try not to forget to include the car you drove.

Also, don't forget to include you divisions.

I also want to mention that (long story short ;) )...

I no longer have a copy of gt3, and it will probably be a week before I can get a new one.

Sad sad story, but sometimes things happen and we just have to deal with it.

Luckily I got my best lap in a day or two ago, so I will have a time this week, but I wouln't be able to race next week (keep that in mind when you all make suggestions... this might be a good week to suggest a race I would never run). ;)

Anyway, good luck and have fun.
And don't miss that deadline. :D

Bye.

No more time to practice tonight. :(
Time submitted with T1 = 12.008 and T2 = 45.937 (in a 787B, I'm no pro driver ;) )
