:banghead:

Just came up with a result falling about 0.060 second sfrom my goal :( but I am at the point where I just can't push the car anymore without risking ruining my upcoming trip to Chicago. Oh well... submitting shortly:

Sets:
4.0 / 17.5
79 / 94
10 / 10
10 / 10
2.3 / 1.5
0.0 / -2.0
6 / 7
24 / 23
5 / 5 / 5
1 - 2.851
2 - 1.668
3 - 1.325
4 - 1.117
5 - 0.951
6 - 0.815
F - 4.600
TCS = 1

Sectors, (best)-difference:
0'20.720, (0'20.575)-0.145
0'38.526, (0'38.346)-0.180
0'58.058, (0'58.058)-0.000
From my analyzer data, I left about 0.180 between T3 and the finish line, and as you can see, I left at least 0.180 before the section with the corkscrew (which was just about as good as I have ever done it) so there is an additional 0.300 on top of the 0.060 I wanted... oh well... thats racing.

Will submit replay on tuesday :)

@ Reddog: Ever tried NOT using 3rd at all for the screw? Stay in 4th gear, and try not to go below 59 mph, I just found this out today and took another 0.100 or so from my corkscrew sector :) 👍

Couldn't resist having a go, so I got the old rubber band out and ran the car in :) I thought I would first try auto and then use manual later on. Here's what I got so far:

20.675
38.685
58.782

As you can see a lot of time is lost on the corkscrew using auto gears, shame really because it goes well once the gears are set up ok.

T1-21.084
T2-39.467
T3-59.349

Good grief! Where did I pull that from?! lol
Fastest I've been at all. I was able take advantage of staying as far over as I could get without dumping the car into the dirt altogether and keeping my speed up. The two areas (make that three) I think were key were the following:

1. Andretti Hairpin- Was able to do a late apex out of there and built up some good speed approaching the first right-hander prior to trap #1.

2. Right-Hander AFTER trap #1- Kept my speed up and stayed in 5th approaching and turned the car and punched the gears to 6th and still kept two wheels on track. I was flying at that point.

3. Rainey Curve (Trap #3)-Again, stayed wide and then just tossed the car left (might've lifted for only a fraction of a second) and popped the gear into 6th and just kept that wheel turned as hard as I could until I got through the corner.

I just literally flogged the car for all it was worth on that lap and, as a result, chopped off roughly 6 tenths off my previous best overall.

Link, everytime I've tried that, I've spun doughnuts and kept dropping gears to save the car. The only way I've been able to work it is to drop to 3rd, stay wide and trail-braked in and then snapped the car left and (if I hadn't lost control by then) let the car drift down and mashed the throttle and up-shifted into 4th and peeled away. I've tried and tried staying in 4th......but, the torque just wants to spin it everytime.

Time for me to split. Thunderstorm has rolled in.

Excellent Combo GoKents!!! 👍
:D After 1st (& most probably ONLY session this week) have logged some "Reasonable" times but well short of "ODP", "Sphinx", "HighonPSI" & "Link." Gonna go ahead & send them in as I most likely won't get any more time to run until Monday & with the Site "Adjustment" don't want to NOT get a time in at all. See Y'All next week...UB57 :D

After an half hour of using my vcr, replay manager & replay viewer, I found that "the lap" was dirty by less than the width of a single tire.

Very sad. :(

However, I did come up with a sure fire way to check those hard to view angles...

I got in the zonda race, then went flying down the track to the turn I wanted to watch.

Load the replay ghost you are trying to view of course. Then like I said, line up on the turn, specifically, in first person view.

Wait for you replay to come flying by and record the whole thing with your vcr as you do it.

Frame by frame you will get the pleasure of ripping your hair out as you see an awesome lap go down the drain.

Btw, it was an awesome lap by the standards of anyone racing this week. I may post it just so you all can see where time is being lost.

But still, it is not "clean" in the true sense... sooo....
It was so close though.
:(

However, like I said, I'm still working at it. ;)

Oh, that's my bad, simple error in editing. :D

58.1, but it is more like a 58.5
(clean)

Dirty, 58.0.
But that lap was fast. :mischievous:

I doubt I can match the dirty lap, and as for my clean lap.

Just a matter of how much can I shave off the final time, if any.

I've been running 5 gears all week, so I'm not sure what kind of time I can take of my current run, but I do think that 57.9 is possible.

Just gotta nail a 38.4 and I've got the 57.9 or lower.

Problem is, I don't think I'm gonna be doing that.
:D

Anyway, hope that puts the fire on. :mischievous:
later. :D

I'll work on my Vette Tonight to see if I get any results. Ive only put tyres on it and used it for a couple of races. I guess it gets attention now.

So it ilooks like you and I will be racing neck and neck to the finish line then if you are sitting on 58.0's for T3's.

Now you're gonna make me wish I didn't submit so quickly though aren't you? Or do you look at the results that people send you? Hopefully not :P

Whew! The whole area where I live was getting rocked by some nasty weather at the time I posted up my hotlap sector times.

Came through unscathed.....although a tornado passed by about 7-10 miles away. A trailer park was caught in it. News showed a trailer had a little bit of the roof picked up and moved about 20 feet away. That's about all I know of.

Later on, radar picked up another echo in the southern part of the county......nothing was heard about damage or a sighting from that one.

I'll flog the car some more shortly.

just tried manual gears and managed to improve my time, but not as much as I had expected for the t3 time. For some reason I can't get the times TML and Kents are getting on t3 :( I believe it is most likely my settings causing the problem because I really can't see any quicker time coming out of the corkscrew with what I have at the moment, maybe I will try again later. :banghead:

20.639
38.549
58.385

Edit: Time corrected to keep tuff240 from making anymore silly facetious comments ;)

Me either! You shaved almost 2 tenths off you T2 time through there! You run it in reverse to take time off? (I'm assuming it was a 58.385 T3. ;) )

I'm new here, thought I'd start out with giving one of fasty's a bad time....

I made it into division 1, but that was just because the registration track is the only one I'm good at.........LOL.
I'll be bringing up the rear by the looks of these guys times.

Put a quick 10 laps in on this one to see where I stood. Just as I figured, at the back of Div 1. :irked:
Oh well, at least I won't lose any positions......only place to go is up. :P

My best so far:
21.072
39.535
59.826

Welcome Aboard tuff240: 👍
:D You & I can battle for LAST in Div I this week! Am away from my PS2 for the rest of the weekend, hope to give "Link's" set-up a shot on Monday if I get a chance as it HAS to be better than mine! ...UB57 :D

Not to worry tuff240.

For you, just like every other racer here, I am going to be very forgiving about division placements.

If you get totally run over by div 1, and prove to be just under div 2 status... then we can have a talk about div 2.

Same goes for anyone looking to move up or down in division.

Shoot, look at WSSSUP.
He came back after a long absence and said he was worried about keeping up.
First thing I did was allow him to step down from div 2 into div 3.

Oddly, a week later he blew that div out and is now back in div 2.

So have fun with the race and we will see what happens.

btw, sphinx...
Nice times. 👍
Are you an x port racer?

Thanks for the warm welcome. :D

I don't mind being in division 1, just makes me try harder.

Just ran a few more laps for this one and I see 58.xxx T3's, but haven't had a clean one yet. :irked:

This is one of my favorite tracks, but I never drive it because I suck so bad at it. :embarrassed:

I just improved my T1 and T2 times a little, but had a bit of a slide going into the corkscrew which dropped my T3 back down to where I was. :irked:

I might try ML's set-up later today as his is always better than mine. Even his gears are usually better and I drive auto....

I need to finish breaking this thing in and get some more practice in on this track.

My corvette is not seeming to go so good. I'm still trying to get it to run stable with no TCS and ASM. It keeps spinning out. Its like Pissing me off! Damn American Cars!

Now now, a bad tradesman always blames his tools ;)

In that case.........my DS2 is shot.......it barely keeps me on the track anymore.

Darin,
Try ML's set-up on page 2 Darin. He's using TCS set to 1. I'll post my set-up next time I go in there too. It's a lot different than ML's, but still felt the same to me.

Nah man, its okay. I tune my own cars. It gives me something to do. I don't drive the vette much. I'm definatly not gonna place good in this one.

Gave it about 20 more frustrating laps tonight.

Best clean times...
20.980
39.194
59.294

I just can't seem to run a clean 58.9xx. :banghead:

I'm still adjusting on my settings and now am at TCS = 1 with a much easier to drive car.

Having fun though, and I guess that's all that really matters. :D

Hey all...
57.9 is in the works, I hope. :fingerscrossed:

Nailed a clean 38.4 earlier.

Also pulling consistantly faster times than all week long because of camber changes.

Was at 1.6/1.0
Now at 2.5/1.? (can't remember).

Still can't match the 1 "good" lap.
At the end of the week I will post that replay for anyone interested... unless I can beat it. :mischievous:
I don't think I'm going to match that one. :irked:

Also,
Right now it is about 3am my time (cst) monday morning... for me it's still sunday night. ;)

Anyway... point is...
gtp is going down for a period of time today.
Remember to get those times in with divisions before the deadline.

I hope you guys can work it and I appreciate all of your efforts.

Hopefully some of you that didn't like the vette too much in the past will have a new found respect. Then again, didn't someone mention something about a craftsman and his tools.
;)

Catch you guys tomorrow, and more than likely, only for tomorrow night.
Till then,
later,
-kent

Settle down there, Chief. You're skipping Sunday. Right now it's 3:10 am Sunday morning.

Btw, I got started on this tonight, and am at 58.3. :)

Man, som of you guys are pulling some awesome t3's in the low 58's and Kent talkin bout 57's..... awesome.......

Wish i had of had more time but i was maxing out just gettin a mid 59 t3....everything else that was quicker was real dirty...

Sounds like its gonna be a close one, im gonna need some pal replays soon as my x-port arrives this week i hope...so any pal users with x-port in the weekly series, upload upload upload......

:D

t1 = 20.725
t2 = 38.781
t3 = 58.596

I gave the chevy a big run this morning. I took nearly a second off my first submitted time by staying out of second on the corker - I couldnt make 4th stick but managed to safely get through in third.

She had some new oil, new wheels and even a wash this morning !!!

Im not running again because I dont believe I could go faster and my thumb needs surgery now !!

Mid-Low 58's are really quick here and I never thought I'd get there but good luck to Kent on his 57sec t3 mission.

:D

When I got my X-port a couple of month ago, I downloaded a lot of PAL-replays from various GT-sites around the net. I've got 93 fast(read: other racers) replays covering all the tracks in GT3 except Complex II.
If you interested you can PM your mail address to me, and I will send them to you.

Yeah, totally skipped sunday... thought yesterday was sunday once it got to be that late.

I'm guessing my state of mind was finally impaired enough to screw me up pretty bad. :irked:

Oh well...
Same message applies though. :D

Good luck this week everyone. ;)
