Don't give up mate. I know you said you like to tune your own cars and therefore won't use anyone's settings, but consider using TML's settings as a type of building block to establish your own settings. However, it does sound to me that you tend to like a stiffer car as against the loose feel that TML has produced. If so, then your like me, I too prefer a stiffer set up.

I can send you my settings if you want and you can use them to establish your own preferences with regard to settings?

Remember, this isn't just about competing, it's also about learning from others, I for one can't wait to find out how some here are producing better T3's than myself and I will learn from it and I have no doubts that I will use thier method to gain an advanatge in future events. :)

True - I used a much stiffer set-up early on this week and I always thought thats what I preferred but I tried another set of setts which were way loose, I was setting the car up and thinking "this is never going to work" but it did and I seemed to have a lot more control of the 'Vette when it was twitching around.

I myself havent got a lot to offer to others when it comes to tuning and settings etc but I see the weekly as an event rather than a competition (but its still nice to have a podium finish for your division !!! ;) )

I didn't even start to tune my 'Vette for this week's race. (Damn Prologue !). I'll make some time for that on Monday evening, despite the posted times : 57', 58', 59'... That looks like a T3 in my GT40 Road Car, not in a Vette. I think I'll drive 10 laps and hope a miracle happens...

I'm still playing with it. But If I don't get a time I approve I will not enter it. But its becoming better. Ive put a good 70 more miles on it. Ive got 20 more miles until it breaks in.

Well let me give you a word of advice darin.

Use other people's setups.

Do you think I started as a "pro" that knew how to properly tune?

Hell no.

I only got to be good with tuning once I stopped and used other setups... that's the only way to really learn what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong.

Good luck, but let me say that again... try link's setup.

Heck, I guess I could come in and post mine, but that will be later if at all...

Until then... :D
Later.

Time submitted.

With sad feelings this week, as I'm certain I could have improved. But I didn't have the guts to wait to Monday. :scared:

Good luck to the rest of you. 👍

See you next week. :)

Later.

That what I've done for a year until I took the tuning into my own hands. But my corvette is getting better and better. I hope I can turn in my time by 9:00PM (eastern) to night.

Alright darin, gotta respect your wishes.

However, I want to remind you that who you get settings from can make all the difference.
Sadly, many people on the board don't know what the hell they are doing. :looking at drifters forum:
Jk. ;)

I've got news regarding new lap times. :D

New clean lap.
20.6 -> 38.5 -> 58.1??

New dirty lap
20.5 -> 38.3 -> 57.9

Too bad that lap was dirty... but damn it could have been fast.

I actually ruined the final section on it, so I didn't even keep it. However, I have a "dirty" lap that is nice and fast, so at the end of the week 2 replays will be posted by me. :D

My Time is in.

I hope next is ALOT better. But it got me to drive a old car I haven't used in monthes.

Well, I've fainlly managed to tackle about 60 miles in this car.

21.089
39.364
59.550

I've seen a 59.1, as well as a few tenths here and there. Hopefully I'll get a few more attempts in tomorrow night.

We'll see.

AO

Bah!

Alta! :D
What's up?

Glad to have you around for the week. Good luck with the runs.

With a couple tips from a friend, I'm finally seeing high 58 T3's! Yeah! Not quite what some of the faster guys are running, but I'm happy because I was terrible at this track when I started.

Look-out mid 58's....here I come! :D

You know, I really have to give it to you guys.

Running to do your best, then doing it is a much greater reward than a shallow victory or a fast dirty lap.

👍
To all of you who are running this week for the fun or the challenge, and heck, even if you're just here so you don't look like your punking out for the races you don't like. ;)

Catch you guys later.
:D

Off to a late start this week, due to RL complications. Bought the Z06 Monday, and broke it in on the SS Enduro. Won the cheap Clio Race Car, but still covered the expenses. Won by about 6 laps on T2s. Got in a first real session tonight. Best clean lap:

21.213 39.629 59.920 :(

Haven't fooled with the tuning yet other than ASM 0, TCS 1, Tranny trick to 4.800, and dropped the height to 82/84. Oh, and brakes to 19/21. Tomorrow I'll try tuning up the suspension to see what I can do, but at this hp, this is not a bad handling car right out of the box. this is not one of my better tracks, so I've got a lot of work to do just to look respectable. :odd:

i really havnt had much time at all for this race, i only did about 1-2 hours on it. im still sitting on about 1.00.xx for the t3 waaayyy behind but ill still submit my time

I beleive I know how you think, kent. I really apperciate the racers who really try their best to keep a line and run a clean lap.

Say your racing me, And your in last and your are running clean laps, hell ya. I apperciate you. The racers who take chortcuts and use F1 cars to take advantage of the AI are really the ones who need to know how to race.
Like the a few weeks back, I was racing a friend. He was racing a Freaking 1000 horsepower skyline and I was racing my Little RX-8 with about 400horsepower. We raced at trail mountain and He claimed he was better than me. He had power, but he also took every short cut there was on that track just so his Skyline could "take" me on. I ran smooth going with my line. At the end of the race I belive I was about 40 seconds back, but I didn't take a short cut and I was proud that my RX-8 was turning in the times it was. True racers don't take short cuts. I can tell you that one. But Dirty laps are for the weak, clean are for the strong.

My submitted time was a 1:19.976. :yuck:
Splits, were 20.975 / 39.004 / 59.076

I had a run with better splits, but not as good last 2 corners.
Oh well, I learned a lot about a track I suck at, so that's good. I also reached my goal of 1:19's, even though just barely.

On to the next one. 👍
