Alright, just down loaded my best R tuned skyline replay. :D

Looks like I'm done for the week, but I might get to run again tomorrow or monday.

Thing is, I don't really think there is too much room for me to improve.

I'm sure the time is there, but can I make it?
Well over the next two days I plan to find out...

But even if I can't beat my current best, I will still be happy with my work for this week. :mischievous:

Till next time,
later. :D

I've found about 4.3 seconds since I got started so I'm once again pleased with my improvement, however I only found just over 1 tenths in 32 laps of running just then, I simply cannot nail the first sector - I get 15.6 one in 50 laps and the rest are 16.0. And when I get 15.6 I get cautious in the second sector and wind up 3 tenths down anyway. Woo. Still, I'll have another run later after I've unwound a bit.

👍

Not just for the actual improvement, but more for the attitude.

Very nice. 👍

You see, when I first got into the weekly there was definately some competition on my mind, but more often than not, I was concerned with learning more than anything else.

On that same note, I think it worked out for me. :sly:
I started in the middle of div 2 and now I've worked my way to being a pretty good racer.

So remember, winning is nice, but improving is always a great goal as well. :D

T1: 15.9
T2: 35.6
T3: 1'03.5

Not in an R-Tune.

(and 138mph across the line)

I'm pretty much done, but I may have a whirl in the R-Tune later on to see if it's really any better. I'm very happy with my lap - running it through the Analyser I missed one apex on the whole lap. I don't care what the time is :D

Nice Famine 👍

Keep at it and give the R tuned a try if you get the chance.
It's a great car for this race.

As for me, I am now pretty sure that I am done for the week.

Actually, my current lap has a few elements that I am really happy with.

First off,
My start line crossing speed is 143.6 mph
My finish line crossing speed is 144.0 mph

That is grea for me since usually I can't manage to finish a lap on a stronger note than what I start on. :D

Also, I managed to hit exactly 155.0 on the long back straight. 👍

It was a great run for me, so where ever I end up in results I will still be happy with the lap I turn in.

btw, I have the replay loaded so on monday night/ tuesday morning expect my replay with the results. :D

Now I'm headed back to the other areas of the forum, but not before checking the suggestions thread.
So go give you opinions if you want them to count. :D

Untill next time,
-

I probably will - but I'm not a big herd-man (despite the Welsh roots... :D). Unless I've picked it to start with, I rarely use the car that's obviously the quickest. Variety is the spice of life and all that :D

I don't recall having seen my car mentioned at all in this race - surprising really since it seemed the obvious choice to me, and my T-times are the result of just 4 laps...

Vmax is 237.7km/h (147.7mph, stats fans) in the Analyser, or 146mph if you believe the race screen... :D

That must be a a good car^

Just make sure it's within the rules.

This challenge was a pick the car with the most front downforce type deal.

I get to 154 on the back straight before slamming on the brakes. When I hit the finish line I'm hitting 134...

I get 155 in the straight and 139 crossing the finish line

Just make sure it's within the rules.

Thanks. That's just given me the biggest laugh in nearly a week.

A quick check reveals one other person has tested the car. I may just have to do many runs tomorrow night and get medieval on it's ass... :D

Suzuki....impossible...or...nah

Don't think anyone is going for the 3000GT

So is it the Celica GT-Four?

BAH!

Celica Alert!!

That's my guess, but of course, I could be wrong.

Glad to see you guys have actually had some fun with this race.

Do you want to have fun next week?
Then go to the suggestions thread and get crackin!
:D

Thank you, I'm just out to be as fast as I can be, I'll always be keen to grab podiums and good results, but I scored a division podium in my second event, when you consider it took Jenson button over 60 races to score his first podium result, I'm not complaining ;) Who knows, I may just graduate like you eventually, time will tell. I'm enjoying building my racecraft before GT4 arrives, and having a different challenge to focus on each week certainly keeps you on your toes.

I am however calling it a day on this week, so my time will be submitted after this post. GG all.

Maybe its another Beetle?

Anyways I'm done, no improvements on my time since I don't know when. I'm relaxing since yesterday.

I think I'm gonna have to find some time to squeese in another session to try and bring my ime down. seeing that almost everyone is under the 1,03 mark. :scared:

BTW: as I heard someone mention GT4, I,m getting GT4 Prologue today :D so i'm wondering when I get the time to play what game will I play :indiff:

My money is on Famine driving the Mine's Lancer.....

I'm way off the pace in my EVO VI. Will have another go after work today, but so far 1'04 is still best I can extract for T3....

Whew, just submitted my time. I found some time through the first tunnel, and managed to break a goal I'd set for myself. In looking at the replay, there may have been a bit more to squeeze from the Beetle, but I don't have any more time to play. Now... to go count all my new grey hairs. :)

Bah, I'm not gonna submit a time this week. I was busy on the weekend, I had my first driving lesson today (Diesel Volkswagen Golf hatchback, w00t!) and some of my friends were available for the first time in weeks, so I was too busy to work on this race. Good luck to all the racers and I look forward to week 74!

TS020, all I can say is that you had better be moved into the Amateurs with this race; because I cannot compete with you on this level (you are still a beginner, right?). BTW, what car are you running?

Time submitted. Only spent about half hour this week, so i'll be holding down bottom of div 2, I guess. R-Tune. My Danish rival took the week off and I never got to it.

See everyone next week!

Just had a quick whirl in the CTR2. Wow. And I thought Dysons never lost suction.

Not submitting that time, that's for sure.

Bleeuuuuurrggggh! :ill:
Can't get any quicker. I've just submitted best time out of frustration! :irked:
Just going to hang in for the next challenge and go and complete some more sim-mode races....

I didn't get anymore time in on this after my first session. :(

Hopefully I get a chance to run it again this evening, I'll submit a time even if it's slow. Judging by the looks of everyones times, it is. :embarrassed:

I'm also running the CTR2, so it won't be a great time anyways. I just like driving a Porsche (RUF). :dopey:

I'll see you all next week.

So....don't do Evos or Skylines and I knew I could setup the Scoob 22b to hit the low 1.04.xxs maybe even the mid 1'03.xxs with some fine tuning (I do like my Imprezzas)...but what fun is that? So I went for the RUF CTR2. I love the RUFs and had never really spent much time with the CTR2 (I must have 100 times the amount of miles on the 3400s/RGT than the CTR2). Out of the box it is a understeering monster, pushes like a damn snow plow, especially when you are on the gas.

But...after alot of setup I ended up running this car looser than I have ever run a car before. I was drifting the thing all over the damn place. I found with a good setup and LSD that I could actually control it. Plus finding the "sweet" spot in the break-in period to get the car at 552hp @ 2.500 PwR helped, right before it ticked below the 2.500 mark.

Trial Mtn is also not one of my favorite or even better circuits, though I do prefer it in this direction over the reverse by ALOT!

Maybe I should break the GTFP wheel back out and hook it up. I haven't run it for about 8 weeks now...got sick of looking at the damn thing on the TV tray in the living room, so I put it back in the box in the closet where it sits to this day. ebay maybe? I like the DS2 now.

Not that I am competitive yet again this week, probably not even with others running the CTR2 but I'm proud of my time, worked hard to get it and must have 200 other times within .3 of my submitted time.....until next week I am going outside to play.
