Uh oh! :nervous: You know, when Mr P says things like "I got a sweet section after T3" while he's already several 1/10ths up at T3 anyway, that we're all going to be eating Mr P dust for breakfast, lunch and dinner again this week!!

Oh well, there's 2 ends to every division, one of these days I'll crawl towards the top!!!! Can't wait to get home now, missing GT3 & the missus ( not necessarily in that order!!!)

After a few laps in the Vertigo, my best T3 is at 1'09.662 with an horrible last sector (missed the last right's apex and had to release the gas pedal).
Niels, I'm only 0.222 back, so don't look in your mirrors and stay flat-out.

Ran some laps in the vertigo, and got it down to:

18.5 / 51.3 / 1'09.0,

but lost a lot between T3 and the line.

The best T1 that I've seen is 18.4 ... can anyone (*cough* mr p *cough* :D) give me some advice for T1?

New best Ts of 18.1/50.888/1'08.100, not all in the same lap though :(

And as for T1, don't be afraid to brake a little early, and try to hold as tight a line as possible.

Howdy weekly racers !!

Vertigo

18.635
51.328
1.09.085

I reckon I can get it down into the 1.08's over the weekend.

What gear do you use for the tight left right just near the end of the course ? I started off by letting it slip into 2nd but there seems to be lots more control by leaving it in third, I also found this on the right hander after the first fast section ? How do you drive those two corners ?

More laps run, improved my final time, but still can't replicate the blistering T3 I had this morning. I can't seem to get a clean fast lap, the damn car is always having a 3rd wheel just barely slide off the rumble strip

Just wanted to let you all know that I wouln't be around for a while.

Family celebration has me going back to my home state of Virginia.

It's a wedding! And it's not mine!!!! :D

Talk to you all when I get back on sunday evening.

Until then, good luck on the race.

Later.

Home at last.

Put in only 5 laps in the Vertigo so far. Might have a go in something else too, like the sound of the Astra or an NSX.

T1 18.4xx
T2 51.5xx
T3 1'09.2xx

Losing a lot of time in the middle somewhere. Will have more practice tomorrow 👍

Improved my lap time but not my T times by much :
T1 = 18.475
T2 = 51.852
T3 = 1'09.792

And I wasted a clean 1'08.990 with 3 wheels on the grass in the final section. :grumpy:
Two more evenings available for practise and I'll submit saturday night.

Took the day off. :D Sent the wife at work and the kids to school. :D Iihaa. Early morning racing. :D

18.458
51.477
1'08.854

Live up to your user name and do it !! Its not like its half a second away, its do-able. I think Im through this week anyway, so if you set your mind to it you never know !!

My current best clean save has a T3 at 1'09.702. So you're actually a full second faster.
I wasted my only clean sub-1'09 (1'08.990) because I didn't pay much attention to my driving line in the fast left-right turns before the straight.
But I still have 2 evenings to practice and yes, I think it's do-able.

A small improvement:18.438-51.458-109.162
(tried everything,ASM even 16:9,how desperate can a man be.)

I ran this with ASM on I usually do with the weekly
Didn't help me much. And the fact that I drive with the D-pad in third person doesn't help me much either.I'm planning a wheel for GT4.

I use Dual Shock too and auto gears. Its just practice, I know I'll always be at a small disadvantage but I tried a wheel, allbeit a few years back and just couldnt get used to it. Im not sure it will improve my times that dramatically anyway

Oh the times, they are a changin'......

Had some more practice this morning, as I'm off work waiting for an appointment with the Dept of Homeland Security to get my fingerprints taken for my Green Card application....

Now at :-
T1 18.3xx
T2 51.0xx
T3 1'08.690

maybe not by using a wheel, if u'r not cut for it...but go for manual transmission...this will give great gains 👍

Leaderboard updated.

*Edit - Just wanted to expand on the above AT vs MT post.

Manual transmission has better grip on certain tracks in certain spots. I prefer and drive automatic most of the time, but I can drive manual at the same pace and have noticed this on several tracks and corners.

The biggest advantage is being able to choose the gear that best suits the situation, sometimes lugging the car to keep the tires from spinning. Other cars require early shifts to get the maximum out of them as well.

MT distracts my concentration on a faster car on the tarmac for some reason. I generally miss more turns and run less consistent with it because of that. Strangely I can drive rally events in MT with no problems. Just last night I ran the 1002hp Altezza in the dirt, and that is definitely a handful.

Just ran a 1'08.093, and lost it in the last section yet again

Oh well, got a clean 1'08.2 in. Won't have much time with the race tomorrow, but I think I'm in fairly good position as of now.

Had some more time to run with this, found out where all that time was leaking away in sectors 2 and 3. :sly:

Now have best clean save with these times 👍
T1 18.330
T2 50.896
T3 1'08.388

*Edit* Just looked at Tuff240's leaderboard, damn GT3mich were we on the same lap there?!!! You must have been that ghost I was following!!! :)

One more wasted evening.
:grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:
I consistently ran low 1'10 and one 1'09.3
I think I won't practice much tonight, I'll play Metal Gear Solid Substance instead...

Don't seem like Ill give anyone a run for their money. After being promoted to D2, this is my first race in this division. And I don't think I can come close to most of them. Im running a T3 of 1'09.9xx That is horrible!

I don't think I can get any better.

Im using the Vertigo by the way.

Same to me, and i never ran above 1´10 in T3, either 52 in T2. This is my best lap:

18.365 / 52.021 / 1´10.156 ( Vertigoooo)

But i don´t care because this track is fun as hell.

Edit.: I posted the wrong lap, here is the rigth one:

18.641 / 52.277 / 1´10.179

The T times wasn´t very good, but in the start/finish line i got a -0.3 gap from the lap above.

Leaderboard updated.

I might get 1 more chance to update it before I leave for the weekend.

Good luck everyone! 👍

Well, It's quite different handling characteristics in the Vertigo.....a lot more off power understeer coming out of corners and more power oversteer with power on accelerating out.

After a long series to get used to the handling quirks:

T-1 = 18.279
T-2 = 50.841
T-3=1:08.221

There is some time I'm losing, especially in the esses in the last sector and a few other places I'm sure. So, hopefully I'll improve before the deadline.

Back to the track! :)
