T1 19.567 T1 19.532
T2 36.482 T2 36.372
T3 55.416 T3 54.979

In the Calsonic this time.
Changed to Loctite/Zexel again, another 0.175s gone overall. Wasted a good 3rd sector by sliding at the last bend, but still improved 👍

20.065/37.456/56.773

Finally got around to doing some laps in the car, and those are the times I came up with. Need to work on cleanliness...

*edit* I'm running the Calsonic, my favourite car in GT3

T1: 20.052 (19.982)
T2: 37.188 (37.195)
T3: 56.628 (56.432) (-0.066)

All that time for only a few hundreths of a second.......... :irked:

Oh, well. :)

Everything in red was my new time.

I can drive auto or manual, I just prefer auto. Some cases manual is highly advantages and then I'll switch if I don't like where I'm at with my auto times. I do hold the shift with auto if the situation or car requires it.
Strangely I prefer manual in rally races.

Leaderboard current to this post.

jadaman, what division are you in?

I'm glad to see many of you are enjoying the race.

I put in time on this tonight. :D
It was lots of fun.

Also, if any of you are facing the choice of manual vs auto in this race...
:sly:
Use what you are most comfortable with. ;)

One thing to take into consideration with this race is the shift point for skyline race cars.
Before 6500 everytime. 👍

Oh, I almost forgot...
jadaman,
Your division?
Did you get my pm?

Qualification race time was requested, and still is. :D
Good luck in the races jadaman.

Btw, my guess for jadaman's division... Probably division 2 (just guessing based on his time submissions at gtde, but you never know ;)).

Till next time,
Later. :D

a bit slower here at
20.208
37.451
56.846

Lots to come off, though.

Edit: Let's make it
19.732
36.966
56.084.

Still lots left.

How can you see T times after a run? Frankly Im too damned busy driving to catch exact numbers, I look for red or blue at the bottom on my laps.

You save your best lap. Then you go to replay theater and watch it. Pause it when the T's pop up and write them down. Piece of cake. 👍

You can check in the free run screen, if you lap is clean, before you save it. Just choose the logger. It automatically shows the replay of your fastest lap in the session. If it's clean, save it. If not keep racing.

Unfortunately the logger don't show the T's, so you have to leave the session and use the replay theater.

I think I speak for others when I say : I'm too busy driving too.
Watch the Replay immediately (which you need to do anyway, to ensure no wall touches and that 2 wheels were always on track). As u go through the replay, pause after each T to scribble the time down somewhere.
('scribble' best describes what I do!)

This combo is more dificult than it looks.(is this English?)
Question:are the grey strips beside the track considerd as track?

Are they?

I'm going to do one lap without practice and send it in to Kent, wish me luck.

Good luck,heero. :)

I'll try to get T times on my new fast lap when I hit it. I chopped .8 from my time last night and I figure if I hit everything right I can gain .5 or so more. Hopefully in GT4 it will keep track of best sector time during a run for each sector, as opposed to what the sector time is on the fastest lap you pull. That way you get a best theoretical lap time, most importantly allowing you to concentrate on a certain sector but still letting you know if you are letting your other sectors drop off.

Well, I thought I had improved my time just now.......til I looked at the Analyzer. :irked:

Seems I just barely had more than two off the course.

So, at moment, my current Trap time I have posted is still my best one so far. :banghead:

In the White(ish) corner : 20.113 / 36.978 / 56.260 (Fastest Final time)
In the Blue corner : 19.984 / 37.227 / 56.323
@ Firestarter : Do you want a spreadsheet that can do what you're asking i.e. keep track of sectors. I have one on my Nokia 9210,which is excel compatible...

I call this heero-ic 👍 👍

I didn't practice over the past 2 days because I received Champions of Norrath, but I'll jump in the Loctite tonight.

Small improvement for me:

19.937
36.707
56.365 (terrible corkscrew passage)

The more I race this the more I love it. Very fun combo, Kent. 👍 :D

Looks like you're loosing a lot at T2. Turn 5 (the left before T2) is an easy place to loose time. I try to stay to the far right approaching, brake solidly and turn in, then full on the gas the rest of the way through, two wheels on the rumble strip on the inside, in 4th gear. The key seems to be coasting for just long enough after turn in so that you don't go wide on exit, but not too long as to loose your momentum.

I've been seeing T2's in the 36.6 range with that strategy. Based on that, and your splits, you ought to be able to hit a 55.6 T3 :)

Oh, and don't be afraid to put two wheels in the dirt through turn 2 and 3 ;)

I am having to drop into 3rd for that corner, I may try more coasting as you suggested. You are right about it costing me time, that and the corkscrew. Trying to hit that turn in when you know you have a fast lap going is tough. Thanks for the advice, I'd like to drop another second off my time, we'll see.

Hey, firestarter,
I found that the best way through the Corkscrew is to stay left until the you see the red Rumble strip.

Then, move to the right while braking and downshifting. Then, start your left turn, ensuring that you aren't carrying too much speed into the turn (knowing it is a blind turn with an off-camber drop off), make the descent and turn right at the same time and make a smooth return with the accelerator and upshifting up a gear and hang on.

If the car starts to kick the back end out, you've mashed the throttle sooner than it would like and you are about to do some unexpected wheelies.

But, if the back end doesn't act like it wants to kick around, then you've successfully got through it.

Then, carrying that momentum out of the Corkscrew veer right and then make a hard left and upshift to get a good run into and out of Rainey Curve.

By then, if all went well, you should see your time drop with a faster split.

I think you need to brake enough and line up the corkscrew just right to where you can be full throttle all the way through the corkscrew and to T3 if memory serves. Guess I need to go run it again before I start shooting my mouth off with my T times. :dunce:

Also the right just after T1 is full throttle, no lifting.

Everytime I've tried to pull full throttle through there with the Arcade Car, I wind up throwing all 4 wheels off the track.

Full throttle is just nearly possible in that corner.....but, you will find you will be pushing that nose too far over into the danger area of being clean and dirty. That's how bad the car likes to tighten up in that corner.

Time for me to go run some laps now.

Being tired and having a hard time keeping the car on track is just not a good combo.

I think I'll try later.

Are you talking about the corkscrew or the turn after T1 (turn 3)?

Corkscrew, you may be right.
Turn 3 I can stick 100% everytime full throttle.

Then thats where I am losing time.... I can't keep full throttle in turn 3 either, I don't brake... just let off the gas, drop a gear, turn in/full throttle. The toughest part I have with the corkscrew is turning in too early and hitting the curbing on drivers left too hard, which of course just pisses the car off to no end yielding the lap a tossaway.
