FWIW, for turn 3, make sure that the left-side wheels are on the rumble strip on the inside (with the right-side wheels in the dirt). If you're sliding after you come off the rumble strip, they you're not hitting it a quite the right angle. I can hold full throttle and keep all 4 wheels on at the exit without too much effort.

Then thats where I am losing time.... I can't keep full throttle in turn 3 either, I don't brake... just let off the gas, drop a gear, turn in/full throttle. The toughest part I have with the corkscrew is turning in too early and hitting the curbing on drivers left too hard, which of course just pisses the car off to no end yielding the lap a tossaway.

Tip for taking turn 3 full throttle.........
You must be at the edge of the asphalt on the left side of the track prior to turn in. If you look closely, the asphalt gets narrower just a tiny bit before the turn. That is your turn in point. Instead of moving over to stay on asphalt, just crank it hard right and hold on. I make it 9 out of 10 times following these directions.

Maybe drive a slow exploratory lap to go see what I'm talking about. It's pretty easy to see, even at speed.

Good luck! 👍

I thought I'd give this a whirl this week, sounds like a good time.:dopey:

It took me well over an hour to get my fingers loosened up, then FINALLY started seeing some halfway respectable times. Best clean with the Zexel is:

55.126

Not bad...but not the greatest :irked: It would be nice to get a 54 before the weekend's over, depends how much spare time I have because it may take awhile:dunce: My hands are stiff from all this driving for BC4 qualifiers, and after not playing for so long my whole hand feels like an 80 year old man's:ouch:

Lots of nice Div 1 times here, it will be a battle for the podium for sure. That last left may make or break your chances, so get it right boys!

Best T2 so far after 10 laps:0:37.943.With a little of luck in the downhill chicane I can shave a second of (I think and hope :) ).I'm using the Zexel Loctite.I just looked up my Guiness List Of Records on Laguna and saw that the arcade Supra JGTC's are more then a full second faster!!!

@ Kents:Great Combo 👍

@ Tuff240:Nice time,I will be looking forward to be in battle with you're time :dopey: 👍

Hey flat-out,can I still join you're Team Mini????,and Kents, what about my Mini Cooper idea in the suggestion box??

Sure. However, it's not my team mini, it was actually an idea of heero12. Click on the link and check on our forum, we have 3 races running at the present time, plus we're trying to beat all Mini records registered on granturismo.de

Nothing new for me.
I just can't stand Laguna's first turn, so I usually give up after having missed it and restarted 4 or 5 times. So I'm still at 56.8 and I think it'll still be my best T2 when I submit.

Hi, I've been busy with other stuff the last few days but got back to this combo tonight and ran both cars 👍

The Loctite has edged ahead in the fastest lap! but the Calsonic I think just needs a bit more getting used to for me and it will be a danger for sure :) .2 seperating both my saves so far.

my best save has ... 19.3/ 35.9/ 54.5

I'll probably submit that one, but would like 1 more try ;)

the end section after T3 is still a ***** :yuck: ..... I hate it! 👎

Laters and good luck

Leaderboard current to this post.

Looks like I'm getting left in the dust by the D2 front pack and the back of the pack has some serious momentum. :scared:

GoKents
I'm glad to see many of you are enjoying the race.

I put in time on this tonight. :D
It was lots of fun.

Also, if any of you are facing the choice of manual vs auto in this race...
:sly:
Use what you are most comfortable with. ;)

One thing to take into consideration with this race is the shift point for skyline race cars.
Before 6500 everytime. 👍

Oh, I almost forgot...
jadaman,
Your division?
Did you get my pm?

yes i get your pm thanks i am in division 2

Qualification race time was requested, and still is. :D
Good luck in the races jadaman.

Btw, my guess for jadaman's division... Probably division 2 (just guessing based on his time submissions at gtde, but you never know ;)).

Till next time,
Later. :D

update:
T1 19.780
T2 36.702
T3 55.695
Calsonic

T1 19.669
T2 36.690
T3 55.865 But my endtime is 0.12 faster. :)
So I drop on the leaderbord, and it looked so good.< :grumpy:

flat-out
10 laps in the Loctite resulted in a clean
T1 = 20.033
T2 = 37.338
T3 = 56.838

with a lot of improvement expected.
After 20 more laps, I didn't see any of the expected improvement, and having both a fast and clean turn 1 still seems random, so I submitted this time from last tuesday.
See you next week.

I had a few minutes this morning, and by the third lap I had a 54.830 but blew it in the last turns. Kept at it and had a few more 54.8's and bunches of 54.9's but couldn't finish any of them. I did improve my clean save but I don't remember what my t3 was on the saved lap. I should have time for an hour or so sometime late tonight so maybe I'll crack off a good lap:irked:

My twenty something laps result

T1 19.881
T2 36.993
T3 56.208
Zexel.
Now Im tired, and wont better it by trying, I`ll have a go tomorrow.

Had a 19.633/36.722/55.639 in the Calsonic. Then when I've checked the replay,it is unclear how many wheels are still in contact with the rumble strip on the turn after T1. I would say it IS touching, but is it really 2 wheels on the course - nah!
Sad cos the total time had gained 1/2 sec on my time from earlier in the Zexel. No more time to have a go,so time from earlier submitted.
Anybody willing to look at the PAL replay of my sort-of-off, and tell me whether it woulda been OK?(after challenge is over of course)

I'll have a look when you upload the replay. But I can't promise I'll bring an answer to your question "Is it clean ?".

Had a go tonight in the Calsonic and it feels like the suspension is a bit softer than the Zexel:odd: Anyway it was alot easier for me to be consistant with and I got a nice run down finally. I wish I would have tried the Calsonic first as now I'm out of time and I know there's more for me to pick away here, but I'm pretty happy with the run I laid down. At least it's clean, smooth, and pretty fast:)

19.366 / 36.120 / 54.788

Hopefully I got enough out of the last 2 turns to cling on the podium:scared:
If not, it was a fun combo. Laguna rocks:tup:

P.S. To Markprichard, when you check your replay, if a cloud of dirt appears behind one of your inside tires when viewing a replay it's virtually guaranteed that the wheel in question is off track. It's a quick and easy way to find a 'dirty' run and about 99% accurate.

No more chances to practice for me I'm afraid. Although ironically I spent the weekend in Monterey, just 20 or so miles from Laguna Seca, since my sister is visiting from England at the moment.
Time submitted.

I just updated the leaderboard for anyone running a session in the next couple hours.
I might try again, but my PS2 has a good AI field picked out for the Torc race and I don't want to turn it off.

Also a couple people mentioned they submitted there times, but didn't say exactly what the time was that they submitted. Just wanted to point out that GT3mich and MrP might have snuck another session in since their last t times report. ;)
