What are the rules on AI contact?
None?
Only if its initiated by the AI and doesn't gain us any time?

Good question Smallhorses.

With all of the multi-lap wrs races from the past in mind...

No ai contact is allowed.

Nothing at all.

Could be difficult but I have tested already and it will all work out fine. 👍

If not, then just post it up and I will consider new suggestions.

This also means that I need to hear from "slower" racers... If they can get past the ai without contact then anyone should be able to.

And just to let you guys know...
I did do enough testing with this to exclude myself from the week.
So trust me when I say that a full throttle launch will be enough to take 1st before the first bend. :mischievous:

But like I said, let me hear what you all think. :D

Thanks Kent,

I'm too new here to remember any multi-lappers from the past, but no AI contact at all sounds great to me. 👍
That's the way I always try to race, keeps you on your toes, and makes you watch your mirrors, especially if you're being followed into a tight bend by a Skyline! Sometimes its difficult to get out of their way!

Now got to get a semi-respectable time together before I jet off to England on Friday, and miss the next 3 weeks of WRS :(

Dude, I saw the title and thought "what wolf is there in GT3? surely he's not talking about THE Wolf", then I opened the thread and bust out laughing. Nice job (:

Works out fine. 👍 Had a couple of tries and passed the AI before first bend, just like you stated.

Nice car. Nice track. Great combo. Shouldn't be to hard to keep clean. 👍
Can't wait to get started. :D

Thanks for the input bud.
Now I just need to hear from a slow racer. ;)
(don't sell yourself short... & same goes for the racers trying to keep up with you).

Of course, the straight line acceleration shouldn't be much trouble for any of us. :D

Also, I must admit...
The testing for this race that has "ethically bound" me to not participate has paid off well.

Using Reverse for this race makes a great difference and testing was the way to find that out.
I am glad I did so and throughout the week I will let you all know where I personally stand on t times for all of my laps. :mischievous:

Talk to you all later but until then,

Oh!
Loud Music,
Glad to see you liked that. :sly:

Sorry, I'm new to this (hope I can do it with GT2), but what about modifications? Or does the NSX have to be stock-standard?

@Do You Race?
It's an arcade car : so there are no mods possible. TCS/ASM ; Auto/Manual ; Racing/Drift are your only choices available anyway!

Alrighty. I just gotta find an NSX Type S Zero in the main game then so I can use it in Arcade ...

Thanks.

There should be a NSX Type S Zero in your A-Class Arcade Garage NOT your Home garage.
If not, then I think you have to complete (that is get 'gold') the MR Challenge on Amateur League in Gran Turismo mode to release it in the Arcade mode.

I only have GT2, so I guess I'm out, like tuff240 mentioned. Ah well, I'll just buy one without modifying it (I always like the NSX) and take it for a spin on the track and submit my time, but I just won't be an official entry then.

:( I have lost my memory card :(

Does anyone know what section (B,C,D etc.) SSR5R is in. I might do the races on easy just to unlock it and post a time.

SSR5 reverse is in Area E.

I love the NSX, so am very tempted to run this week after a long gap. Even though we ran this car/track combo at last weekend's ilink and Famine beat me. Again.

Tough luck.
SSR5 Reverse is in area E, so you'll get a couple of warm up races.

Edit: OK. To slow. Already answered.

Some super-early (and I'm sure super-slow) splits, after 3 laps:

? / 1'03.1 (First lap)
29.1 / 54.4 (I can't remember if there are 2 or 3 sectors on this track)

Didn't feel very smooth off the bat, a little understeer-ish.

Could only get into 3rd going into the first chicane, it is possible to avoid contact however these dorks may turn down on you even though you are side by side. Just have to be careful and try to make a pass in the braking zone.

Try to find this starting field:

Mazda RX-8
CLK 55
Skyline (R33)
3000 GT VR-4 Turbo
NSX Type S

Start in second gear to prevent wheel spin.

Just tried this one out. You'll pass them in good time before you start breaking for the first turn. 👍

make sure you're drafting the cars in front of you 👍

That's where I was on my first couple of tries also Luxy. SS5 is not one of my better tracks though.

An hours worth of trying produced bests of:
Lap 1: 37.6/1'02.4
Flying lap bests: 28.8/53.8

But not in a clean 3 lap race.

Leaderboard is up (with only me on it).
Trying to figure out the best way to do a multi-lap T-times leaderboard is difficult.
I think I want to add up all the T2 times and place racers by that.
I'm open to suggestions.

At this point if you want on the leaderboard, post all of your clean race T2's and I'll add them up and put you on there.

@ Kent... I wasn't too thrilled with the SS5II and arcade combo when I first heard it. I thought I'd run it a couple times just to put a time on the leaderboard. After I started trying it, I couldn't put it down. Great fun! 👍

I have yet to find an AI combo I can't beat to the first left turn. This is a good Car/ track combo, Kent 👍

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to say thanks for showing your appreciation for the time I took to test the combo.

I'm glad to hear that keeping it clean isn't a problem :D

Also, I will run a few races tomorrow or the next day and after that I will come back with all the info I can.

Until then,
Enjoy the combo. :sly:

Okay, I added Sjaa68 and NielsG to the leaderboard and added up all of our T2 times to form an order.

I'm all ears if anyone has a better suggestion. 💡

As for this weeks race, I will have to try and find time to throw down a few laps. I like the track and only drove the car a handfull of times. Good luck all and hope to see you on the results page 👍

Ran about 5 3-lappers, very, very nice combo.
So far-
1:02.208
53.885
53.986

Spent all the time I'm going to get on this one before I depart for 3 weeks. 👎
See you all again for Week 91. 👍

Clean save has,

Lap1 T1 38.165 T2 1'03.084
Lap2 T1 28.999 T2 53.971
Lap3 T1 28.928 T2 53.939

Running against Mustang SVT Cobra R, NSX Type S Zero, Impreza WRX STi, Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34) and Audi S4.
Not as quick as it could be, but its frighteningly consistent!

Adios! :)
