Week 97: Speeding Stage 11

Had a very brief attempt at this, have a "mandarin" speedster on mem card 2 with only 5.1 miles on the clock. Fully modded it, dialled in a version of Tannis' settings but fiddled the brakes, springs and gears a bit, ran about 10 laps and with only around 18 miles total on the clock, I ran a 23.4xx T1 47.4xx T2 and 1'25.6xx T3 which was clean, but then stuffed the exit of the last chicane, and although the lap remained clean, so much time was lost tidying up out of the last bend that the replay wasn't worth saving! My sister-in-law is in town and we're taking her up to Tahoe skiing on Sunday and Monday. I'll have no time to run this properly let alone break the Speedster in properly, so I'm going to have to give it a miss this week. :grumpy: Good luck to you guys, from the little experience that I had, this is a tremendously fun combo 👍
See you all next week.....

Ok, I'm running 1.25,4-6's on T3. I did a 22.9xx in T1 but screwed up in the double hairpins.

Did 50-60 laps, and had to change my VX220 into a new. My thumb are pretty smashed, and my downshift has started to skip a beat.

Enuff for today.

T1: 23.264
T2: 47.630
T3:1.25.646

Damn that's fast Tannis!

Tannis,
Do you use the ds1,2, or a wheel?
:D

Just interested.
Truth is, I've been running some this week and the lowest I am running is in the 1'24s.
With luck I will be able to submit a time, but getting a clean lap will be tough.

For that matter, congrats to any one who can manage something on this race.
I'm amazed at how well you all manage to work out what is fast.

It seems like the producers of the game had no clue lap times of this speed would be possible... Other wise we would all be testing on license times way under pal or ntsc.

Good luck all!

No doubt.

I am curious to see how everyone is taking this... hoping some people can upload replays... very curious indeed. I myself will upload mine, now that I have that flash drive thinger, works good.

Also, anyone have advice on how to take the hairpin after the bridge, with the glass windows on the inside? I can't ever find a good line through it.

A DS2 powered by the souls of still born children?? <_<

You are putting down amazing times.. I want to see a replay, so I can learn.

At last got some time for a session:

24.462
48.625
1'28.603

Don't know if I'll race this one anymore. But it kind of annoys me, that I leave too much time out there, so maybe I'll give it one more try. :dopey:

Hello, I try the race, and it's very fun! :dopey:
T1:23.927
T2:48.168
T3:1'26.877
I think it's not a very good time...but it's my first race here so... :dopey: ...but I'm far from Tannis :guilty: :indiff:
Bye all!

Welcome to the WRS Tr@sos.
Did you make sure to run the registration race and PM your time to Kent so that he can determine the division you're running in ? This is compulsory for your times to be officially registered at the end of the week (that is, tomorrow 6 am for us).
By the times you're posting, I would say you're in div. 2.
Top-div. 2 (if you achieved this on your first laps) or low-div. 2 if you practised like hell.
Anyway, welcome again.

Flat-out (France, La Seyne-sur-mer).

Leaderboard Updated

I haven't made any more progress this week. I ran a 1'26.1 T3 in my first session, using my DS2. All week, I've been trying to match that with my DFP ... closest I've gotten so far is a 1'26.4, but that's got a little touch on that last turn :(

Time submitted.

24.610
48.984
1'27.954

Smashed a 1'26.9xx in the last chicane, but didn't have the time or energy to follow it up.

See you next week. :)

I am going to submit my worst entry yet

excuses:

yes, my new job is taking more time than the previous and is costing me time on the ps2

Well,
I've just put down what may be a clean lap.
Not sure yet since I haven't checked it.

However, at 1'24.9?? it may be worth turning in. :D
Still way off pace, but I can't really expect to get down into the low 1'24s on a clean lap with the amount of time I am putting into the race. :(

After I take the time to check out the replay I will decide if it is going into the race.

Until then,
-

Time submitted.

This track is a nut, but with the yellow Speedster; w/BBS rims I`ve managed some decent times this weekend.
It seems impossible for me to reach up to RacyBacy and Tannis, but still a good combo. 👍

T1: 23.326
T2: 47.170
T3: 1.25.624

-and it was clean. No fence kissing; maybe my best GTP effort!

Thanx for great work on the leaderboard Luxy, and too bad you couldnt hang on.
I fear the worst :scared:

I sent my time to Kent...but I didn't run the registration race :ouch: , for my time I didn't practise like hell...1 or 2 hours max! But I think that if I could have driven more I would have had a better time. :)
Bye

Had only little time to race this week. So nothing special; 23.178 - 47.175 - 1'24.895.

Don't think I could have threatened Tannis if I had more time. I hate this car, it handles like... an Opel :yuck: . It only slides, drifts and spins :grumpy:

Let's hope for something with more grip next week...

Too bad for this week. Make sure you run it soon.

I ran 30 laps only this week (too much time spend in Grove St, Los Santos), and achieved a clean (submitted) :
T1 = 24.078
T2 = 48.632
T3 = 1'27.718
but with a better lap time than with the splits I posted earlier this week.

See you all tomorrow for week 98.

@ Niels : I'm 0.53 ahead at T1, 0.35 at T2 and 0.24 at T3. I hope my final sector is good enough to keep you behind ;)

I didn't get the chance to submit my time.

But I'm confused ... 0600 for Tuesday 6th is the deadline ... should this not be Tuesday 4th. I had the 6th of Jan in my head which is Thursday. :ouch:

Ah, bummer. You still sent your time to Kent? Would be unlucky if you wouldn't be included in this weeks results. You deserve to be in front of me this week ;)

I just sent Kent a message with the time. I'm not too fussed if it's excluded since the WRS time always has to be submitted on a Tuesday anyway so it's partly my fault. :dunce:

I didn't improve my time so the saved replay is from the 31/12/04. :(
