Ran a 1:07.7xx at Tsukuba on my 12th lap, for those wondering.
I imagine with perfection we'll see the better end of 7.5's, not sure how low you can go though, maybe 7.1 or 2 is my guess.
Pretty easy to tear Tsukuba up at the limit, but then I believe it's one of my better tracks.

Did a 1.07.7 as well. I can go as low as .4, .5. The aliens will probably hit .1, .2 like CSL said.
About tonight's racing, I just have one word: EPIC!! Specially that finish on Race 2, it's just perfect. 👍 Great stuff guys.

Just please nobody quote them so we don't have doubles, triples, ect.

Thanks brother.👍

yarrr! ... I hit 52.020 tonight. :ouch:
did put up my PB with a monster in quali though 👍

Race Report:

Got a good turn out but not enough to break the room. I saw zero lag the entire night. Yay!

Lots of traffic in qualifying but once I got some clean air after lap 5 and ran down a 17.7 then dropped a bomb on the scoreboard with a 17.491 (PB). Was so happy with that I just ran a cool-down and decided to drop the mic like Seb and sit on it.

Starting from the pole helps quite a bit for turn 1. Everything went peachy on the cold tire laps and going out on to the straight on the end of lap 2 I checked the tree and noticed sagarismic a new guy I'd not raced with was the front runner. So I defended the inside line in case of insanity but he turned out to be a green friend helping me break away with bumps.
So with the tires warmed up we just walked away with a bunch of 1:17.7-8s laps. I was able to stay in front by .1 at the line and managed to win my first race flag-to-flag from pole. :D

Great race sagarismic 👍 ... you also scored fast lap. :)

Race2, starting from the back wasn't bad at all. No lag, no crack-up in turn1... everything went smooth. I just lurked following whatever lane had a faster car in it, occasionally going by people as mistakes are made. Little side by side fun until I saw Wardez's pretty blue car. Then I just followed him through the woods and we were off to the races by lap 4. Clean and tidy 👍

I bump drafted Wardez for 2 laps before deciding it was time to make certain we stayed in a two car race as we were doing low 18s with bumping and the 3,4,5 group wasn't far behind. I went around and we pulled a nice gap clicking off 17.5 pace until lap 12-ish when I was noticing my right-rear was starting to get beat to hell and the lap times had slowed down to 18.0, 18.2... So Wardez had decided he'd seen enough in my tow and went around.

I needed to save tires so I tailed him looking for any place I'm faster... really my only opening was turn1. I was having to slow to the high 90's on entry to avoid contact and I usually try to apex that at 110. The rest of the track we were even. He was even a bit better in the final turn.
So when the final lap came around I just drafted down the straight and put the balls on the the table in turn 1. Got by, no contact, stayed on the road.. $. That threw down the gauntlet, Wardez was on my bumper in the tunnel, took the inside in the tight right... we had a minor scrub and powering through the left my worn right rear gave up and I had to short shift 3rd to avoid a spin yet keep my foot in it.
Wardez got around but I pulled right back up on him to have a go in the final corner. I needed a great exit to get him by the line so I put my foot in it earlier than usual and the right rear was going to kill me but I ned to keep my foot in it and keep it from spinning. Ended up understeering enough to get 2 wheels in the grass but just said eff it and kept my foot down and made it back on the road without too much loss, but enough that I couldn't pull Wardez in and he roared across in 1st by the usual 3/4 of a car. ;)

GJ Eddie... that's the second time you've foiled me in a last lap fight. :E

p.s. Nerd humor. Since both races were a 2 car battle it seems that in the RGB game of rock paper scissors Red beats Green but Blue beats Red.

until next week =]

lmfao, love it man. Great rundown, now I'm back off to make the $'s xD

Points updated. LOTS of ties right now, but that's because I started the Drop system. After Tsukuba, it should sort itself out pretty well.

BTW Good Race Wardez and Folkz

Anyway, I always, "film", capture my races, it's just that most of the time I don't feel like uploading them.

No one is safe.

And we'll have to have a little talk before you get back out on track. You learned quick but you're a little rough around the edges prohr.

Thanks for coming out.

Great racing last night, I would like to mention that in last nights room, race 2, I got a massive grip reduction in turn 2 and temporarily in turn 5. It was like the grip line was moving?

Hi All,

Thanks R1600 for the racing hosting last night sorry Carracer and the other unfortunate bloke who I spun / crashed in front of entering the tunnel.

Cheers
Joe

Great racing last night guys. Had good battles with PTP both races.

I just can't keep up with the Alien group, and I was driving worse than usual. I could consistenly click off 1:17.7 quali lap times on Tuesday night, but only did a best of 1:18.0 in quali for Race 1 and Race 2. At the end of race 2 car was back down to 202hp. Should've changed the oil before the race 1.

I wish all the cars were available to lobby hosts so that a spec night could truly be spec. When drivers vary in power by 6hp on a track like GVE-R, it can give some an unfair advantage. I know 6hp isn't much, but on a long straight it can be enough to bring you back into drafting range for a more powerful slingshot move than your opponent.

Really up to the drivers to make sure their car is broken in and the oil is fresh before they enter the room. :)

With that said, my car isn't broken in.

Yeah I know. I just didn't have the time to put the miles on the car. I ran the Grand Valley enduro one day while I was watching TV but that wasn't enough to fully break it in.

Really? Usually it only takes about ~200 miles.

You worded that wrong. It's not giving someone an unfair advantage. It's allowing people to handicap themselves by not properly maintaining their car.
IMO if you can't be bothered to push a couple menu buttons you deserve what you get with dirty oil or a wobbly chassis.

RT, maybe add the broken in stats in the OP under -
Performance Stats:

Those were originally supposed to be the stats for the real car, hence why they are a bit off from what we have.

Edit:

And here's that video I was talking about:

Few things about this video.

1) I think the car collision sounds should be the same outside the car, in other views.
2) You drive that thing well enough it make me think I'm driving a different car.
3) What's your race finish music from? Custom?

In the case of an oil change yes...but I simply don't have the time to run 200 miles on a car to break it in. I'm just saying things would be easier if we just went to the lobby and the car was pre-selected like arcade mode. Then its all about racing...not about prepping the car. But lesson learned in any case. If I want to be competitive, I will have to let my b.spec driver prep the car for me. I was just too busy during the holidays to do that.

Agreed, just like real racing, car prep is as important as your driving.

I just didn't think the oil would degrade so fast. I still had full 208hp after Tuesday night race. And i changed the oil just before that race.

First thing I do with any relevant car is to let Bob drive it 200 miles at Laguna Seca, while I sleep/work/etc. Pays off a bit of cr too.

I would do that if I wasn't worried about my fatty PS3 blowing up on me.
