My weekly -all on hard btw-

European Sunday Cup 400: Renault R5 stock at 410PP. Was not going anywhere near P1. So updated the brakes, suspension, sport soft tires and little power (exhaust + manifold + air filter). Was closer to 500PP but hey. Win is a win...
Pickup Truck Race: Ford F-150 Raptor. My tune was massively OP but I had fun 😅
World Touring Car 600: Honda RA-272 at 599,95PP. Easy win
Gr.1 Prototype Series: Porsche 919 Hybrid. Had no rain so I (just) managed with a no-stop. FM1 except lap 9-10: FM4 and RM tires.
Hyundai Ioniq One-Make: Did not want to do this race more than once so used the fully upgraded pikes peak liveried battery. Took it away with miles ahead.

All in all pretty uneventful races.
Daily marathon gave me Suspension for a Porsche GT3, already had it installed soooo.... MEH
6-star gave me 500K 💰

Euro 400: I was not very interested in this one and with only 2 days left I decided to race a stock F430. It was total overkill. 1st place CRB.

Pickup Truck Race: I raced a stock Raptor to 2nd place CRB. I was really fun. I loaded a cool Dakar '25 livery that some japanese gentlemen did, tunned it a bit and raced again to 1st place CRB.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N One-make: Did anyone race a 100% stock one on this? I did to dead last place. My lap times were about 1:02 and I think I was driving OK? It was rather hilarious. I then loaded a Time Attack livery that some other japanese gentlemen did and did some tunning (I think only race tyres?). Got an easy 1st place CRB with lap times of about 0:53.

Hey guys, I've tried the Road Atlanta race with three different cars ( F. Roadster / Viper / LFA ) so far with varying success. Although I've won a couple times already I'm not really happy with how the races went. Are there cars that you would highly recommend or even something like a 600 PP meta car ?

@smoothbore12
Were you talking about the WRX Gr.B road car ?
I'm not sure of the Meta. You'll have to dig through the Tokyo WTC600 thread looking for the fastest cars there and rework the tunes for a sprint race. I second @Tommy_D 's recommendation for the Ford Mustang Boss. It's plenty quick at this point level.

Also have a look at the Rotary swapped powered Suzuki Cappucino as well as the swapped Honda Beat. They weigh nothing and make ~500hp. I haven't tested them in a while though.

I ran this event A LOT over the weekend. The odds are stacked against you to a ridiculous degree, and that RGT is definitely over 600pp. You need builds that break the PP system. There are plenty, though most of them have some handling quirks that need to be tuned out / driven around.

The Toyota Hiace with the BRZ drift car V8 was the fastest of my group. The V8 Volvo was also up there, but very, very finicky.

Here's the tune. I apologize in advance for the oversteer.

Widebody, wide wheels - I run just the wide offset, because I don't like the stretched tire look.

1000hp+ Racing Soft tires, Lots of aero... 591pp

You can use 3rd gear for the slowest turns, but try to keep the revs up. Be careful on the throttle coming over the hill before the final corner, lest you get wheel spin in 4th. You can carry an alarming amount of speed through everything, especially the higher speed corners.

You can hit the curbs, but be careful applying throttle when / if you do. Generally wait for the van to settle down and straighten up before putting your foot down.

Note that our front runner friend in the RGT, through the power of PD's blessings [cheater buffs], broke the 7 minute total time barrier trying to catch me.

Road Atlanta is a slippery track. I think that's why I didn't like it at first, but after finding out where to be easy on the throttle and when you can go flat out really changed my mind. I haven't tried the Hiace for this track. Sounds a bit crazy. I wonder how crazy the engine swapped Miata would be on this track.

It is ! crazy ... and wonderful. So much fun !

@rheinaoi

Thank you very much for that tune. I once thought I'd never use engine swapped cars, thought that's not my thing simply ... but I've started to really like it, it's growing on me. And that Hiace is one more step into that direction.
The car is surprisingly stable so no apologies needed for oversteer tendencies, and with a bit of patience in the right foot there's not much to worry about !
Respect for you and all these people who know 'how to break the PP system' and all this special stuff.
And hey, I got there :

Used the WTC600 to test drive my swapped Subie GC8. On SS. Had a good time but still not enough on the straights. Got Bonelli in the Lambo for second but couldn't catch Bayless in the RGT. He won by 8 seconds.

I've noticed some considerable rubber-banding going on in this WTC600 event. I was getting towards the end of the 2nd lap, down long fast back section following, at a distance, the white 996 GT3. Using my usual braking point i caught the GT3 so quickly under braking that i had to dodge right and onto the grass to not slam into him, loosing a load of time recovering. Caught and passed him through the slow double righthander on lap 3 and pulled a gap on the back 'straight', again hitting my usual braking point, only for him to dive-bomb me in the braking zone into that chicane. He literally came out of nowhere. No wonder the laps the AI cars do seems to vary so much.

Not wanting to drop big money into a new engine-swapped car - which seems to be the key to winning this - i caved in and dropped the difficulty down to medium. In the same car i was consistantly loosing by 11-12 seconds i ended up winning by a similar margin, even with the AI cars starting in the same positions.

I've now got the Grp.1 race at Suzuka to do to get the 5-event ticket. Not looking forward to it. After attempting the WTC600 many dozens of times over the week going from a quickish road car to a stupid quick LMP car will take some time to acclimatize. I suspect i'll quickly end up doing it on easy just to get it done before the events end and change tomorrow.

Mazda LM55 Gr.1 stock at almost 950PP on RM will go the distance without stopping if you shift up at half-bar.

Of course you'll need to stop if it rains, but it doesn't always. It bypassed the circuit entirely in mine...

I did have a couple of quick attempts in that very same car late on last night as i had used it previously and quite liked how it drove on the few Grp.1 races i've run, but like i said, its speed and twitchiness felt totally alien after many laps in a 410hp Subaru and i kept binning it into the gravel. :dunce:

I've not been following what others have been using or their stratagies so i was flying blind. Not having to pit for fuel would be a bonus. What fuel map was that on?

One. I never change fuel map, only short-shift - and set a top speed limit if necessary but it's not needed here :D

I used the MAZDA LM55 Gr.1. I started out at FM6 but then I dropped it down to FM3 or FM2. I had RS on there so I had to pit once on lap 4 to change tires, ( I switched to RM) I did add some fuel and changed FM1 went flat out the last 6 laps. But if you start out with RMs and FM4 it should be enough to go no pit if it doesn't rain.
