Hi everyone, This will be my first post on GTPlanet. I was a GT junky for years ( I used to be so kool that I would skip school, but soooo dorky that It was just to play Gran Turismo a lil more) played GT1-GT3 Religiously, and used to hold a few records as well on racing-line.com. Really wanted to continue on with GT4, but life can be hard and unfortunately had to give up playing any&all games completely for several years and could also never afford a PS3 anyway until recently so Im very stoked to be back to my favorite game from what seems like forever.
Anyway, I thought this GT Academy would be a good way to meet ppl and find some quick fun drivers to race with on-line, though it seems some of the quicker guys aren't very approachable we'll say. I was told I would do better to join gtPlanet and set race meets from there.
chandler idea of essentially stock cars with low grip (hard to put the power down) tires is exactly what i'm interested in and all of you guys seem very friendly and willing to help & I know from some of the names, there is some great talent here. I've been away from the PS3 on and off for sometime now due to a grueling traveling schedule as of late, but I get back this weekend and would love to share the track with you guys. 10pm is a little late for me, but I'll try my best to at least get one race in.
Also, thx for your efforts Chandler, I've only had one opportunity to race online so far and it was really kind of a hassle to go from room to room, only to finally race with crash-happy ppl. Was a huge waste of time
looking forward to meeting all of you

Well we do have a handful of the really fast GT-A guys, but I'm sorry to say that we aren't very approachable either. If anyone laughs during one of our races, they get ejected from the lobby. And using free-run time to learn to drift the GT-R through pit lane on Laguna Seca is HIGHLY frowned upon.

Another fun practice tonight. It started off with some close racing between Choate and myself. Choate takes lead:
Choate tries drifting Super GT car (or perhaps just has too little rear downforce):
Choate loses lead.
Then there was an exciting 85hp (combined) race around Cote d'Azur:
And a "head-to-head" kart race. Heh.
With a victory margin of 0.038s.
I feel very well prepared for round 2. As long as round 2 involves driving in reverse.

I was hoping to start racing with you guys this week except that I'm in a similar situation. I've got 4 exams to take this week.. the good thing is though that there's a week break between rounds; I'd like to not fail out of school trying to make the next round GT Academy.

Don't be surprised if you see an X2010 having a sumo wrestling match with a tank car. Or a kart race where everyone finishes within 1.4 seconds of each other.Or some nice one make races (we should probably race godzilla again). It's all up for grabs
