When I get home in a few minutes I'll try adding a little rotating mass to the engine internals in order to :

  • Keep the engine from spinning up so damn fast.. (Maybe reducing wheelspin a little)
  • Maintaining speed at the long uphill before T2

Will post the result a little later..

Howzit dude,

Will post my settings tomorrow, maybe they suck, but you can give them a try and see what you come up with :) I took yours and just made a few adjustments. Maybe you beat me at my own game haha, I think I still need lots of practice to get times like yours !

I'll only post the only things I changed from your setup CFM:

SR 20.0/17.0
Camber 3.0/2.0 (though 3/3 might make up the time I'm missing behind you ;))
Toe 0/-0.5
Brakes 24/24
All LSDs @ 5
TCS 2

this car surely cannot be this bad.American cars get a
bit of a bad name on the handling but this thing is like
driving a truck. It does sound great on full throttle if i
could stop the wheels spining. When you exit the 3rd last
corner just out of the last tunnel its a case of drifting and
praying you are going to stay on the track

That 3rd last corner is quite allright if you cut in early and drift out, it gives you quite alot of room to go full throttle through it halfway then. Just keep very close to the inside the moment the corner starts I think.

I struggle with the 1st corner (going in too fast most of the times), and then getting that all important FULL power up the hill to T2 and the bridge, you have to go onto the tarmac on the other side of the rumble strips to not hit the rocks on the beginning of the hill !

Hi guys! :D

After putting in a long and tiring weekend and beginning of the week, I was finally awake ( :ill: ) enough to get going.

I snuck away with CarbonFiberMan's ( 👍 ) settings and hoarded this boat around the forest. Slippery at times  , but a fun ride

You's guys are really fast!! My fastest run so far is a 51.something. My weekend is less hectic coming up, so I'll niggle that down a bit. :embarrassed:

Thanks CFM, you gave me a good start!

So Ellegance...

Not that fast yet.. But I did manage a T2 @ 52 close to flat, so I'm getting there...

Unfortunately I'll have to submit early tomorrow afternoon as we're out for the w/e....

Btw.. How's Charlotte these days ?....

Yearh well.. Tell Charlotte to kiss the 50 quids goodbye. She screwed me for half an hour and I wanted a full so I don't feel that I'm satisfied with her services.....

Btw.. I think I'm gonna nail yer 51's at T2....

Well... Im hitting 50.9's for fast laps, but most are coming out with some sort of dirt on them, so it's back to the start.

Took me a while to hit the 50.9 mark, I was stuck in the 51.??? for quite some time, but after a quick change of thought on the tuning I managed an instant .5 off the t2.

Back later with any progress, and maybe a time at the end of the week if I can pull anything clean.

I got a question?

do you guys brake at the up hill before the St/Fin line?
And what's the max BHP, im now at 675?

Yeah, me too.

I got a new fast lap time, but theres some uncertainty whether or not its clean. Hopefully I'll get a new faster lap before Sunday. Weeks are due Sunday this week, am I correct?

OK, guys! The DB7 has been a really fun attempt at throttle control tonight :odd: If this had been my real life car, The autobody guy would be making a mint :embarrassed:

II like it though. Nice choice Boombexus 👍 I've messed my settings abit and it's happier now.

There still a bit more time to me to wring out  but hopefully I'll get there.

Are time really due Sunday night

I'm riding high with a 23.363, 50.689 :D

My bad. :embarrassed:

I edited the deadline date to show the 23rd of September at 0700 GMT. So it's still Monday at midnight. :)

Howzit all,

Did a few laps again last night, just can't break into to 50.x times on T1. Fastest clean so far is :

T1 : 23.550
T2 : 51.160

Here are my settings in case anybody would want to try them :

11.0/11.0
92/100
9/8
8/9
4.0/5.0
1.0/-2.0
5/6

Brakes : 24/20

LSD : 5/40/5

Auto Gears : 28

ASM : 0
TCS : 4

Hope anyone can make something of this, as I can't get any faster with any settings as the moment !

Will do a few laps the week-end and try my best to cut a few milliseconds off my times.

Adding a little weight to the engines rotating mass clearly helped me, but now it is obvious that my problem is the first turn. I'm running T1's at 25+ and T2's at 52 flat....

I stink :grumpy:

I had a short session.
23.073
49.589
Eggman sets w/4deg. rear camber.

Also tried CarbonFiberMan's sets w/4deg. rear camber.
22.825
49.442

The run @ the top has a faster total.

They are within a tenth of a sec., but feel COMPLETELY different.
The car has 676HP.
Seeing as I have so little time, it's a PITA to break 'em in.

Gotta go.
Good luck.
:) :) :) :)

Yeah good times for all of you, I just can't get any faster than the times I posted earlier ... :banghead: But should be a good time for the beginner class in any case I hope.

I think my main problem is the 1st T time, this is where I lose the most time. I am fast through the uphill section to the tunnel, and the last T section to the end as well, going full throttle through the 2nd last turn (almost), and also going in 6th gear through the last turn ... Where do I make up some time ?

Great times there Oliver!

I went looking for a bit more stability, as my previous settings still drifted a bit more than I like. So I decided to use the shocks more to tune the cornering rather than the ride height difference.
I'm using all the same settings I posted except for:
Ride Height 92/95
Sh B 7/9
Sh RB 8/10

Those changes got me:

T1 23.159
T2 49.687

Still not on pace with Oliver, but that was my first lap with my new settings.

I did have a go at your settings Kraq...
Got about the same sector times as you. Suggestions: not so much camber/toe/lsd/tcs and raise the auto set back up to 30 like CFM's. Those changes would probably help your T1 time and your lap time, as your top speed is 10mph or so less than we have.

Camber and Toe both decrease acceleration and top speed on straights, so it's important not to use more than neccesary.

The LSD Accel at 40 is what's making the TCS of 4 neccesary, but with a TCS setting that high, it kicks in on the straights in higher gears where it slows you down.

Thanks alot dude, I just had to have some of you Pro's just check it out and recommend a few changes, thanks a lot ! :D It makes sense now, because I was going through the turns as fast as one can, but like you say, I'm losing time on the straights, and that is where I will concentrate on the week-end, once again thanks for the advice !

I have split times almost identical to yours Ellegance 👍 Keep up the good work :)

New update clean ( using CFM's setts, gear ratio trick, and 4 degree rear camber )

Split 1: 22.983
Split 2: 49.916

My total time is about 1.3 seconds faster than my last lap which had a T2 of 50.6... but I know I didnt completely nail the last sector this time around either. I have a goal I have set for myself. If I can reach it, it will be most satisfying :) Thanks for another great setup CFM 👍

Edit: I've seen a 49.6 on a T2 of 22.9, and I've also seen T1's of 22.7 So in all I think I might have another half second in me still.
