Only thing that I've wondered about in these comps Boom.

Does "2 tires on the track " mean that I can put one or two wheels onto the grass (obviously not on purpose though)?

Or does that just mean that you are not allowed to get the car airborne over jumps? Cause the airborne over jumps didn't sound right to me, so assume it must mean on the explained track.

The only reason that I asked was cause I have also noticed on some that there is a rule stating 'no driving on grass', so just wanted to check that you could actually drive on grass just as long as you had two wheels on the track.

[Edited to explain why I asked]

Hmm. I think I'll give this race a try..

Mazda^ You can have 2 wheels off track on purpouse. If it's airborn just estimate where the wheels would be if you had contact with the ground, same rule - 2 wheels on track / rumbles..

[edit] I'll just throw in a lap2 1.03.4 for you to beat.

2 tires on the track at all times means that you can have the other 2 tires in the dirt or grass. And it doesnt really matter if its done on purpose or not. I would figure that if you get airborn, which is very possible, no tires could be touching... but as long as there would be two tires parallel to the floor that look on track, its ok.

I will not be participating this week, and most probably next week, to have as much time possible to get my run in for the BC3. So good luck to all, and see ya's in about two weeks. ;)

damn this sounds like a good one, unfortunately its due a day before my race for BC3 is due. I'll try to get a run or 2 in tho, i cant pass up a chance to use the CLK

BC3 has also got it's hooks in me, but I will still try and find time between mid-terms and bc3 to race this one.

I've been waiting for the clk back since boom and I talked about a touring car series back during the first week or two of the weekly series. (where did that half a year go? )

Talk to you guys later, and good luck.

So that would be a run around Seattle, eh!;)

No you didnt, the deadline for this race is Monday for you, and the day after Monday is Tuesday, and there are no BC3 races due on tuesday :P

Well too late

I didn't think there was anything else that CAN be installed other than the NA upgrades and tires? I thought all the race cars came fully modded from the beginning...but it's been awhile since I've looked at the CLK Touring Car, so I could be wrong.

Man i love midfield reverse!! especially w/ cars like this one. this is gonna be hard to stay away from this week. best splits so far from free run are 20.2/37.1 Best lap 2 time i have so far is like a 1'02.5 or so. ive done better in free run...since no ones posted any yet, heres the settings im using so far. just kinda threw em together and havent really experimented much yet

8.4/11.5
65/70
10/10
10/10
2.6/2.0
0.0/0.0
4/4

20/17

5/5/5
tranny trick final: 2.600 and auto 21

1.00/1.20
tcs 3

im sure they could be better, but at least they give you a starting point

i have so far (less than 30mins) got

lap 1 28.138 / 45.272
lap 2 21.018 / 38.296 / 1.04.077

i can improve on the last turn and the other turn goin under the second bridge. so i will get faster.

now i have

lap 1 27.994 / 45.046
lap 2 20.710 / 37.832 / 1.03.469

with a total of .9 sec overall faster than my previous time

After tranny trick and adjust final, do you change auto?

you first take the final gear, put it all the way to the right, then take the auto and put it all the way to the left, then bring the final gear back to what i posted, and walla.

Welcome to GT Planet by the way, as well as the weekly series! :)

Good luck mate

I don't, as a general rule of mine, like to use the settings that have 10/10 and 10/10 as the bound & Rebound settings. I will try to come up with some of my own (When I do I will post them...). I can't wait to see what kinds of times I can whipe out with this car.

Edit: just tried those 10/10 settings and they really work with this car, but my fastest lap time in free run was only a 1'04.7...

First set of times;
Lap 1:
T1: 0'28.715
T2: 0'46.066
Lap 2: 1'06.066
T1: 0'21.157
T2: 0'38.672

Man I suck.. Fastest free run lap so far at 1.05 something or other... Oh well.. Back to the DS2....

And what the h3ll is the tranny trick anyway :grumpy:

The Tranny Trick is when ou move Auto setting all the way to the right, move the final ratio setting all the way to the right, and move the final ratio back to a set value. don't ask me how this works, all I know is that it improves your acceleration time by setting the ratios abnormally low...

Don't particularly like this car yet... Have not found a setup I'm happy with.... Think that this weeks might be a slow one... Maybe I'll try something like my usual (max out dampers, strong springs, etc, etc)... Only had a quick run last night, but Can't remember my times. Think lap 2 was like 1:04.025 or something.

youve got it backwords...first you move the final setting all the way to the right, then move the auto setting all the way to the left, then move the final back to where you want it. :) at least thats the way i do it...maybe ive got it backwords. haha
