gt4 - I'll spank your ass in W40 :grumpy:

You need a X-Port/Sharkport and a USB connection between your PC and PS2.
If you're in the states, they are available at BestBuy.

Shoot, i totally forgot again... :banghead: I had a nice 9:26, too!

Yaaaay- I was hoping for a decent placing, never thought I'd be at the top tho (well, of div 2)
I know my time wasn't the fastest I could do (if I had hooked up a perfect race) but I'd love to see how you get down to 9.04s.
Looks like I really got a long way to go or I missed something in the settings somewhere - maybe I left the handbrake on :)

For all the frustration I still enjoyed this weeks race. Good call Boom.

These were what I submitted but they aren't my best for each lap...

1:55.226, 1:47.883, 1:48.856, 1:49.509, 1:51.546

Had several races where lap 3 was the quickest lap and where 2-4 were all low 1:48s but blew it somewhere.

Good racing everyone, that last lap was a toughie for sure. On my run I did manage to have my final lap end up being faster than my first lap by a fair amount, I think that was the only time I managed that out of all the races I started. This is my favorite track going all the way back to good old Gran Turismo 1 so I know it fairly well which didn't hurt.;) ODP, by that last post you sounded pretty excited, I thought you had gotten a sub 9 minute run for sure, so I was kinda surprised to se me on top of the list. Still very close, less than .200 a lap separated us. Also nice run for GT3 Mitch, I know you're probably busy with TORC and the Diablo series, so a nice run on a limited amount of time! Hi to all our new racers also, keep coming back and you'll get faster every time;) Here's my replay:

I know this may not be the place to ask but as CFM has just posted his replay does anyone know of a way of watching these without and X-port?
If not, can you watch US replays on a UK machine?

I'd love to see this as I want to figure how he did it.

Spending 39 weeks in the GTP Weekly at 10-15 hours a week as well as competing in Ron's TT thread and ARC series as well as BC3, TORC series , Racing Line assaults, etc, etc is all it takes young padawan! And lots of ice for your thumbs  If someone has the means to do a video capure of my race into a divx or mpeg movie, feel free and send it to me or post a link to it. I would do it but I don't have a video capture card for my PC.:(

Young!? You're too kind :)

I'd just like to see your braking and turning points.
I've tried to look for a program that converts replays to mpeg but cant find anything. Might try contacting the X-port people - even if I end up buying one it'd still be good to have a converter or player or something

Any chance you could give me your setup... I'd like to see how it differes from mine and if I couldv'e done any better. No worries if not cos i know it's a pain in the botty region.

Yeah, i know it takes patience but that's why I joined in on this. I whoop everyone i know (but then I don't really know many people who play GT anything near as much as me) and I get bored when I win all the time, I need something to challenge me and this is all good!
But thanks for the encouragement... I like to urge people on to better things, too, rather than just gloat over beating them all the time - although gloating can be done on rare occasions just to show em who's boss ;)

:D I'm 28 so I just assume I'm older than most everyone 'cept Bob (UB57)

As far as my setup I posted it early in the race thread for week 39 for anyone to try as they see fit, I usually share what I come up with for the weeks that we use only one car in the hopes it may help someone.that always helped me a lot when I was starting out way back in week one, just trying to return the favor to you newer guys.

The only way to convert an .sps to a MPEG, AVI, or DIVX would be for some one that has an NTSC PS2 to play the replay on their TV and record it onto the PC while it's running, if you know what I mean. Maybe some one that has the tools would be nice and make up some vids of a few of the top runs. hint-hint;)

Anyway, if you're looking to get faster I would HIGHLY recommend geting a Sharkport as you can chase down the faster PAL user's ghosts and easily see where you are losing time, as well as veiw anybody's (PAL or NTSC) setups and parts fitments. It is good to use for many other things beside saving replays anyway, lotsa stuff to do with it, just makes the game more fun all the way around.

BTW at 41 it's not often I find gamers older than me...

Wow what a coincidence, i noticed a pic from the in car camera in the Clio...

Guess you are kinda up there in years;)

just teasing mate

Congrats to CFM! When I submitted my time I told Boom that 9:04 was possible. Nice run by ODP too! Here are my lap times.

1)1:53.778 -1:53.0xx PB
2)1:46.079PB
3)1:47.270 -1:46.2xx PB
4)1:47.144 -1:46.4xx PB
5)1:52.544 -1:51.991 twice

Running on red fronts were a challenge on lap 5 but a 1:52 was fairly easy.
I can do mpeg's with my computer but a five lap race would be a very large file. I can try and zip it up and post it here. My cable provider doesn't like email attachments larger than 10mb's
 Pal users can't convert NTSC replays to watch on their PS2's frame rate issues. Here's my replay. BTW, I'm older than CFM:P

OK OK OK you're all older than me, I get the hint. I did notice that it was a bit rough seeing over the Clio's dash...
