Thanks, this race has got me interested.

This week of the weekly and the diablo series have got my full attention. Like I mentioned in another thread, with thanksgiving, no work and no school, I am straight on racing for the rest of the week. (ignoring intoxication by drugs or alcohol. :D )

Till I do a session agian (which should be soon) later.

The thing about rotary engines, tho, is that their cc capacity isn't the same thing as a regular piston engine. I do believe that the standard RX-7 and new RX-8 are generally compared to cars in the 2.5-3L range as the engine output is similar.

Rotary engines tend to rev higher (the RX-8 is red lined at about 9000-9500 rpm! This is what gives them their power even though they produce less torque (i think).

It could be argued that the RX-7 is a valid car for this race as it would probably be allowed in the 'real' world (whatever THAT is).

I haven't even attempted anything on this race yet. I really don't like SS11 forwards, backwards or sideways! And I've been really busy working and playing THUG and washing up and shopping and (insert crappy task of choice that means I don't have to race SS11).....

I'm really enforcing my sig this week :)

Well I just had the realization that made me feel like a fool.

No wonder I put down such alright times in one 10 minute session... I was using the Z concept. Thats not allowed is it, so now Im back to the drawing board for cars... when I pick one out again and run a lap or two I will get back to you guys with times.

Well..... The Nissan 350Z is 3.5L V6. Or are you talking about a power to weight ratio? Boom?

On the rotary, I've heard that since each rotary has two cycles going on, it technically doing twice the work. So the 1.3L engine is about on par with a 2.6L. Did that make any sense? I just woke up.

Well, actually the z fits into the specifications of the race without trouble, its just the fact that you can't buy it, you can ONLY WIN IT.

So I don't know, maybe I can get a ruling on that from boom sometime in the future?

Thanks.

uhhh... i'm so going to be demoted to div 2.

my second day and my times are...
t1=17.224
t2=1'02.579
t3=1'28.782

i'm still trying to find a car that i like tho. i can't decide whether to keep my supra rz at the normal weight with 400+hp, or the same car with stage 3 lighten and 350+hp. the problem is that i'm trying to figure out whether high torque is useful or not.

the heavier car has a better torque to weight ratio and it does seem faster. any thoughts on this, as boom has not specified a torque-to-weight requirement?? thanx. good luck all.

I wouldn't stress dude, you're already div. 2.

Atleast, according to the drivers classification thread.

And yes vg30dett, the z took me for the fool once more :D

As for torque, I would say it plays a good role.

The z took me to an instant 1.27.0, yet it has no specific attribute that would account for such a easily attainable time, well except for one attribute... the 3500cc engine.

So I would try and take advantage of your torque if possible.

No updates for me... I think my racing is going to be primarily the diablo series, but it is possible that if I get a good car and enjoy myself with it, I just might get in a time this week.

I would use an RX7 if it were allowed because I think it'd be one of the better cars in the competition (certainly in p/w ratios). Power wise I think the Supra has a major advantage over the competition, as you can get up to 403 hp out of it and still have it be legal.

Well I just went and got into another car that I felt would work well, and well, it did.

1.26.6 on my second lap.

Should be down into the 1.25 range if Im lucky.

btw, thats with my ds1 since I am currently doing surgery on my ds2.
ds2 should be back in buisness within a day or so. :D

My DS2 is ill. Sometimes it clips out and sends me flying into the wall. It's wierd, it's like the connection is a little broken. Looks like I'm gonna have to get out the soldering iron...

DualShock II. The PS2 controller that comes from Sony. Opposed to a Logitech Wheel or anything of that sort.

On my front, I'm not trying any more laps for a while. I did run some earlier today in the 3400. Best I saw was a T1 of 16.00x and T3 of 1'25.5xx. I'm just over a million credits and I feel the need to have a good deal more, so I'm putting of racing until I finish a couple endurances and a championship. Hopefully I can get some more time in Sunday or so.

The RUF is a great car once you get used to it. After a Lightweight Stage 1 and breaking it in, it comes to 321hp, with a power to weight ratio of 3.766.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Hmmm, Jpec i feel i should apologize, cause you see you should try to insult my intelligence/common sense, cause if i would of opened my eyes and not been such of an a$$munch i would of easily realized i bought T5 tires and for some idiotic reason i didnt install them and i had super soft tires installed. (T8's?) Lmao i feel really uhm..........fill in the blank ____.

Is all gravy though, im running a different car this now and im absolutely positive everything is within the rules and im actually not far behind the times i had with the other car and super soft tires installed, hehe. Ill post some T's in a bit.

Geeze the damn finals are just killing me, tomorrow I have the programming class final and this is the one I fear the most, it's just one program, but is THE program :mischievous:

Well I might race tomorrow only since I have to study for physics and calculus III finals, keep up the good work, I have seen some interesting times in here, adiós :)

Dude, do you have 40 dollars?

You really need to get 40 bucks, run to best buy and get yourself a sharkport/x-port.

For real, it makes everything so much easier. All you do is racing for yourself, no more racing for credits or prize cars. You also get replay transfer and hybrid capabilities.

I hope you can get one because it is obvious you could take advantage of it. Good luck with your search, hopefully good fortune will come on you.

And thats a good looking setup for the ruf, I might try it.:D

:D Well, I do have an X-Port, and have had one for quite some time.

I haven't played too much with the car editor. I made a silly hybrid (half a million horsepower that wouldn't get to the ground) and that was about it. Also, I've only had two instances where I've had to upload my replays.

I'm mainly doing this because I want to finish the game. I rarely beat games and I just would like this one to be.

Well in that case enjoy, but since I know you have a replay device now, I suggest that you load your laps every time you turn in a time.

lol, If I'm in the top three in the Amature devision, I turn them in. But if I'm down towards the bottom, I don't.

For some reason I thought you were racing with better finishing results.

Who all is in the amatuer racing rivalry? I know it's still fast racing, so of course my respects to any achieving... but uhh, who's your rival in the series?

anyway, Im out, just responding to the comments above. :D

lol, don't sweat it. I'm just sitting here trying to figure out how the heck VG30DETT is getting a 1'25.5 in the RUF when the fastest I could pull in any car with T8s even was a 1'26.3. Good racing, and all in good fun. I guess I'll have to spend some more time in the RUF. I think the word you're looking for is something along the lines of "sheepish" or "like Homer Simpson." Hope to see your times stay low even when shifting to the T5s (I find it can take a good 3 seconds off if you don't watch yourself). My advice is to try cutting your spring-rates in half to compensate for the loss of grip in the tires.

well i found what i was on and was .1sec from my total lap time. so i think tonight when it gets dark (so no reflection on TV) i will put in a good 100kim or so.

just ran 11 laps straight, only pulling it down to just over 2 seconds above my time with the T7 tires on the Supra. Here's the T times:
T1: 0:17.368
T2: 1:01.964
T3: 1:27.813

T1: 17.234
T2: 1'01.820
T3: 1'26.448

Ive been testin out other cars most all of today, I tryed the 3000GT and the Clio Sport, didnt get much luck from them, although they both ran really similar times. I'm sticking with the 3400S from here on out, or atleast until i get a good time then i might switch over to the lotus and see what i can run. *unpauses GT3*

:D After lap after lap after lap, I finally ran a really clean lap and didnt choke up and hit a wall at one of the last corners. lol, I present you all with these T times, ENJOY.

T1: 16.881
T2: 1'00.397
T3: 1'25.246

Edit: After watching my replay, i noticed towards the end i bumped a wall, there is DEFINETLY atleast a second left on this track, maybe even more with a different car, i know this time is pretty fast but i am not totally satisfied with it.

Very nice gbr, very nice indeed. Do we know you from somewhere else?

Hmm, maybe from racing line? i have a few 400M times on there, I'm also a member at SHO, (superhonda.com) Other then that the only other place i can think of is "The Spot" which is located in my sig. (or atleast it was, lol cant remember if its out or not)
